To Margret and Allan
“Truth or dare” asked Margret to Amita and Nikki. “Truth” said Amita but Nikki wanted dare but decided to wait. Margret and Allan started whispering to each other then they decided on one “ok truth or dare for both umm have you two ever played with a boy before” asked Margret. “NO” both of them answered. “Alright the two of yours turn” said Margret politely. “Ok this one’s for you Mr. Eppes do your sons have cooties” asked both girls only at different speeds so it kinda sounded like an echo in the room. “no they do not” Allan looked as though he were thinking about something then added “they got there cootie vaccine at the hospital when they were born did you two get yours” smiling at Margret. Margret eyed Allan then tried to hide a laugh, as she tried hard to be mad and could have tried harder to be mad at Allan for what he just did but she thought it was funny that the two girls actually looked like they were thinking about it. “I don’t know” they both answered truthfully. “Alright our turn girls” said Allan “truth or dare” he said smiling at Margret. “DARE” Nikki yelled at the top of her lungs. Margret smiled and kissed Allan and took over from there “I dare the both of you to say sorry to Charlie over there” she pointed and then saw a stranger holding Charlie in which Margret immediately got up. “Maggie what is it” he asked in concern of how fast she got up. “Allan look over at Charlie there is someone with him, girls stay here” Margret said walking over there to were Charlie was being held. “What’s going on here” asked Margret grabbing Charlie. “Mommy we counting game I count to 995 alweady” Charlie said proudly. “That’s good baby but I mean who are you miss” asked Margret still a little shaky from seeing Charlie at the hands of a stranger then sat him on the floor and held his hand. “I’m sorry he was just over here sitting in a chair alone and I was afraid he was going to fall your other son Donnie came over here to I figured he would have told you about me I’m sorry I thought he was the professors kid and all the other adults were watching all the other kids so I just sat him in my lap he was being good a little hungry though” she finally finished her explanation. “I’m sorry but he is my child it just startled me to see someone hold him without me knowing about it” said Margret calming down a bit. “oh I understand I’m a mother although I lost my youngest 3 years old his name is Ryan I lost him to his father but I still have two others Jason and tony 10 and 7 both at school right now I’m Christy by the way” said Christy holding out her hand. “Margret this is Allan did Charlie tell you his name and I know Donnie said his name I heard you say it, any way Charlie is 3 and Donnie’s 8” laughed Margret still thinking ‘well actually they are 32 and 27 but I guess I’ll keep that to myself’ she thought to herself. “Ok well I better go my sons are getting out of class in 30 minutes” she bent down to Charlie’s level “bye, bye it was nice hanging out with you” Christy said ruffling his hair. Charlie held his hands up to the desk trying to get his binky but Margret was looking at the door to pre occupied to notice Charlie was now franticly jumping to get to his passi so Allan grabbed it from the desk and gave it to him who put it in his mouth right away and reached for Allan to pick him up once Allan did Charlie laid his head down on Allan’s shoulder. “I think someone here needs a nap Maggie, Maggie? are you ok?” asked Allan rocking Charlie back in forth. “ya I’m fine” she said turning back to them and taking Charlie from Allan’s grip to check him over once she did Charlie’s stomach started to growl “are you hungry baby” Margret took him that’s when she remembered the mac and cheese spill they tried to feed him macaroni ‘oops they didn’t know Charlie would never eat mac and cheese unless it had little bits of bacon in it to make it tasted baconey’ she giggled at the thought of figuring out (when he was a baby the many times they tried to feed him macaroni he threw it in the floor till one day Allan had put bacon in it by accidental switch in which he put it in his and switched it them on the way to the table but Charlie ate every bit of it and Charlie would not eat it unless there was bacon in it) She laughed at the thought just as two little girls came over there and looked up at Charlie and at the same time said “we’re sorry that we made fun of you Charlie” then added “ok now truth or dare both of you” slightly kicking at the ground. Margret was about to say something when Allan budded in “we have to go home girls and put Charlie to bed before he gets to grumpy ok” said Allan in an unsure kind of way. “Ok I guess” said both girls as they made their way to the corner. “DONNIE we’re leaving” said Margret then turning to Allan looking a little worried “Allan we don’t have a car seat for Charlie or a toddler bed nor any toddler supplies” this made her think “do you think you could run to the store and get a stroller, bed, car seat, and other supplies and some toys for Donnie?” asked Margret. “ya do you want me to drop you all off at the house you could hold Charlie and lay him down on his bed until I get back and feed him does that sound good to you?” asked Allan. “ya ok I’ll go pry Don away from his friends DONNIE WE’RE LEAVING” she yelled smiling, looking around the room for don. “COMING MOM” yelled don running away from his friends. “David, Meghan, Liz, Larry do you guys want us to take some of the kids home to” Allan asked the agents. When he asked Dons eyes lit up the thought of his friends spending the night normally his parents wouldn’t let any of his friends to come over and stay the night because Charlie was so young was there normal excuses. “if you can handle it I guess it wouldn’t be that hard who are you going to take?” asked Meghan “us girls will take care of Amita and Nikki cause I doubt you want us to take Charlie and don home” Meghan added. “ok then me and Margret will take Colby and Ian to, and Donnie and they can sit in the back seat Charlie will sit in Margret’s lap until we get a car seat for him I’ll drive” he said patting dons arm who smiled up at him. “ok Allan we will be by to help later after work cause we are still on duty Meghan you take a day off and take care of the two girls. Once they were all in the car it didn’t take 5 minutes before they were home and Don opened the car door and three little boys rushed to the door in which Margret unlocked with her newly found key {AKA the one that was under their door mat} and Don and his friends stormed inside and to the fridge to get something to eat. “what do you want to eat you guys?” asked Margret putting Charlie in the floor. Don smiled big “your welcome mommy” then turning to his friends “come on guys lets go up to my room I’ll get the sleeping bags and scary movies” said Don waving them up stairs. “Ok Donnie I’ll call you and your friends once the food is ready” she said putting the lasagna bowl in the oven “Charlie do you want to help me set the table you can eat on mommy’s lap once it’s done cooking ok my little baby” said Margret picking Charlie up and kissing him after pulling his fingers out of his mouth she put him down “quit putting those fingers in your mouth or your fingers will poke through your ears” she said playfully then handed him his binky. He took his passi and looked at his fingers then reached up to his mommy and Margret picked him up after stirring the lasagna “I hewp mommy” he said sleepily and laid his head down on her shoulder. She went into the living room and laid him on the couch and put a pillow over the left side of him to keep him from falling he kept making sleeping baby noises, then she went back into the kitchen and brought the lasagna out of the oven and sat it on the table. Just as soon as she was about to call the boys to come and eat out of nowhere came three little boys running into the kitchen and running and shouting and playing with a baseball bat a FBI badge and what looked to be a green water gun. “What are you guys doing?” asked Margret with a smile which faded as one of them screamed ‘I KILLED YOU COLBY’ which cause Margret to yelled “DONOLD ALLAN EPPES” she interrupter herself as she then noticed how loud she was and automatically quieted down “I told you not to play that in the house it’s time for dinner Donnie after dinner you can go outside with your friends” she said just as she heard a screaming crying toddler in the living room. “Donnie would you please go get your brother and bring him in here please” asked Margret in which don kind of rolled his eyes half way which made her laugh a little but tried she to look at him sternly. Don walked into the living room and picked Charlie up “what’s wrong buddy” asked Don as Charlie wrapped his feet around Don’s waist and put his head down on Don’s shoulder and Don patted Charlie on the back and went into the kitchen with him. Charlie soon felt the rush of being picked up from Dons arms and looked up to see his mommy “mommy” he asked sleepily. Just as Allan walk in carrying a stroller, high chair, and a lot of toddler and kid clothes, and other toddler stuff, and got a baseball bat, balls, and three gloves for the three boys and a little chalk broad for Charlie and some other toys. He dragged the high chair into the kitchen and put it together. “Ok after supper why don’t we all go to the park and meet up with the girls and the other grownups” said Margret to the boys. “YAY” the three little boys said all at once but Charlie just looked at all three older boys and stayed quite. “Donnie could you take care of Charlie for a sec I need to talk to your mother” said Allan taking Charlie from Margret and putting him into the high chair. Allan dragged Margret into the living room “Margret, Charlie is in his first math stage you no where he doesn’t like to do anything but math once we get to the park he will just go and sit in the sand box and write numbers in the sand maybe the park wouldn’t be such a good idea until we are used to him as a toddler again” Said Allan worry plain on his face. ‘He is looking way to concerned’ Margret thought “Allan you worry too much Charlie will be fine he still likes to think his family thinks he is just a normal toddler even if he is a genius and some failed experiment turned him into his toddler self” Margret said shaking her head at Allan but she never showed it but she was worried to. “your right Maggie of course he is a normal kid even with the numbers and the experiment gone wrong he will still play in the sand box we will just have to ask Donnie to keep a good eye on him” Allan said looking back in the dining room “oh and look what I got for the boys” Allan said taking out the baseball stuff he had gotten for the three boys and pulled out a chalk broad and little pieces of chalk. “Ya we could use this to entertain Charlie while he is in his stroller” she said taking the stroller out of the package and unfolding it, then they both walked into the dining room and don and the other boys had finish their food but Charlie seemed to have thrown his food everywhere and he was covered in it. “Ok Allan go ahead and take the boys to the park we’ll meet you there here you can take the car I’ll take Charlie a bath then meet you there I’ll put Charlie in his stroller once we’re done” she said taking Charlie out of the stroller. Charlie was laughing and clapping his hands thrilled to be a mess but then stopped to look at the water running and poked it and started slapping at it and looked up at his mother expectantly like he could see something “what’s wrong baby” and that’s when she knew he expected her to see the numbers too. His little face looked amazed he knew he could count but the numbers looked so live pushing threw his head like a tornado he looked back at her then back to the water and opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out then the flow of numb3rs increased tenfold he looked at Margret teary eyed. She knew exactly and picked him up and just rinsed him off and put some footie PJ’s on him and gave him a blue passi to match his blue PJ’s and put a jacket on him and put him in his stroller, buckled him in, put his sneakers on his feet, and push out the door.
