Ferdinand's parents did not object to him staying with Bruce to find Anjanette. In fact, they encouraged it. Although he was worried about Anjanette, Ferdinand knew he had to sleep so that he would not be too tired to look for Anjanette. The next morning, Ferdinand and Bruce got up. After a quick breakfast, they started their search for Anjanette. They called her name, but there was no answer. Ferdinand said, "I hope nothing bad has happened to her." Bruce said, "Easy, Ferdinand. She may be too far away to hear us. It's hard to tell how far she has gone." They pressed on for what seemed like hours. Just then, Ferdinand spotted something unsettling. He said, "Bruce, look!" Bruce said, "Those are vultures circling in the distance." Ferdinand asked, "Do you think there might be something dead over there?" Bruce said, "Not necessarily. Vultures ride the wind currents." Ferdinand said, "It's possible, though. I mean, there are a lot of them." His heart sank. "What if Anjanette is over there?" Bruce said, "Let's go check and see. I hope she's all right." They pressed on, dreading what they might find. Meanwhile, Anjanette was still sleeping. She slowly woke up and noticed the vultures circling over her. She said to herself, "I better try calling for help again, or I'm going to end up dead, and those vultures will eat me. I don't want Uncle Bruce to find me like that." She yelled for help as loud as she could. This time, there was an answer. It sounded like her Uncle Bruce. She shouted, "Uncle Bruce! Over here!" Just then, she saw her uncle running toward her. She said, "Uncle Bruce! Am I glad to see you!" He said, "I'm glad to see you too. Are you okay?" She said, "I'm trapped in this bear trap." He said, "There's a reason these things are illegal here. Just hold on. I'll get you out in a jiffy. I brought someone to help me." Just then, Ferdinand joined them. Anjanette cried, "Ferdinand! You're okay!" He said, "Yes, I am. I'm sorry you didn't get my message. My uncle was in the hospital." She asked, "Is he okay?" He said, "He's fine. He's going home today. More importantly, are you okay?" She said, "No, I'm stuck in this bear trap. It hurts so bad." He said, "We'll get you out of here." Working together, Uncle Bruce and Ferdinand managed to free Anjanette from the bear trap. Uncle Bruce then pulled out a cloth and wrapped up the wound on Anjanette's leg. He explained that it was to help stop the bleeding. After that, Uncle Bruce and Ferdinand carried her to the car and took her to the hospital.
