“First Impressions”
April 19, 2014

"How's it lookin' on connecting to the camera feeds, Kowalski?" Skipper asked his lieutenant.

"Just fine, Skipper. Just a few more minutes," Kowalski answered. "I have to say, the HQ is in pretty good shape for not being used in a number of years. Things are coming together nicely, and we've only been back for a week."

"I concur. You got those light fixtures, Rico?" Skipper asked, looking up at Rico on his ladder, fixing a light to the ceiling.

    "Uh-huh!" he grunted.

"Sir!" Private said, dropping into the HQ and running to him. "I have a report!"

"What is it, Private? And why the rush?" Skipper asked.

    "It's the neighbor! She's —"

Before he could finish, an otter dropped through the hatch and looked around in awe.

"So this is where you guys go off to all the time," she said. "How did you guys do this?"

Skipper glared at Private. "How did she find out about this?" he asked sternly.

"She kept asking where we go after closing hours! Then she insisted on coming over! I didn't know what to do! I couldn't stop her!" Private explained.

Skipper smacked him on the back of the head, causing him to whimper. "So? You don't lead her down here! You should've stalled!" he scolded.

"Sorry, Skipper! Sorry, sorry!" Private said shamefully.

"Hey! You don't have to be so rude to the little guy," the otter said, going to Private and gently patting his head where Skipper had slapped him.

Skipper looked at her irritably. "Listen, dollface —"

    "Marlene," the otter interrupted.

Skipper rolled his eyes impatiently. "Look, Marlene, first you come down here unauthorized, and then you start telling me how to run my unit? I don't think so. Consider your tail outta here," he said, pointing to the hatch.

Marlene put her paws on her hips. "Um, rude. I just wanted to come over here to welcome you guys to the zoo since I obviously can't come over during open hours and you disappear after closing," she said.

"Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but this isn't our first time here. We just took off for a few years and decided we liked it better here. The rest of the story is classified. Now, if you don't mind, we're a bit busy," he said, gesturing toward the hatch.

Marlene narrowed her eyes. "Well, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I didn't drag myself over here just to be shot down by some arrogant, disrespectful jerk!" she argued.

Skipper stared at her incredulously. "Well, excuse me for defending my right to privacy!" he shot back.

"If you have been a resident in this zoo before, you would know that you're in New York now! Privacy's got nothing to do with it!" Marlene retorted.

"Please! I value my privacy as much as I imagine you do!" Skipper snapped.

    "Guys!"

Skipper and Marlene turned at the sound of Private's voice.

"Stop it! Both of you! Arguing doesn't solve anything. We're going to be neighbors for who-knows-how-long. And I for one think it best if we all just get along," he said sternly.

Skipper replied with "She started it!" at the same time Marlene replied with "He started it!" while pointing to each other. They stared at each other irritably at their simultaneity.

Private rolled his eyes. "Look at you! You're both acting like children. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Apologize to each other now," he ordered.

Skipper looked at him in shock. "Private, it's one thing when you give me orders, but you're ordering me to apologize? Why do I have to apologize anyway?" he asked sharply.

Private just looked at him with an irritable grunt.

    "Fine, I'm sorry."

Private and Skipper turned to Marlene.

"I shouldn't have intruded. I know one of my pet peeves is an uninvited guest," she said without meeting either of their gazes. "I'll go, all right?"

With that, she turned toward the hatch and left them standing there with their beaks hanging open.

Skipper let out a guilty sigh. "Wait here, Private," he said as he followed her out.

"Marlene," he called as she reached the edge of the habitat's island. She turned at the sound of his voice.

"What?" she asked, facing him with her arms crossed, not meeting his eye.

Skipper narrowed the distance between them. "Look, I think we got off on the wrong foot," he said calmly. "How 'bout we just — start over?"

Marlene sighed and brought herself to make eye contact. "I can agree to that. I don't want there to be hard feelings," she agreed, letting her arms drop to her sides.

Skipper smiled slightly and held out his flipper. "Skipper," he said.

Marlene took his flipper. "Marlene," she replied as they shook.

"So, am I still 'some arrogant, disrespectful jerk'?" Skipper asked with a smile.

Marlene thought for a moment. "Still figuring that out," she answered with a sideways smile. "Do I still 'consider my tail outta here'?"

"Oh, most definitely," Skipper answered without hesitating, causing Marlene's smile to fade. "But," he continued, "I hope you'll come back sometime. Maybe when we're not so busy and can get to know each other."

Marlene smiled again. "Count on it."

Author's note: yes, i realize this story may be far-fetched, but this was one of my best ideas at the time, and i'm happy with the way it turned out despite my having no knowledge of how the actual voice actors act in real life, nor how they'd behave in a situation like this. This is my version of them, and my take on the show. I'm just here to tell my stories and do my own thing. if you don't like it, shaddap and don't say nuthin'. but if you like it, by all means, comment! I hope you enjoy this!

'Big..Brothah..'

He opened his eyes to see that male penguin who he remembered correctly...HAD NO FLIPPING EYE.

"So you're awake?"

Private sat up, he was in his bed? Thankfully, the male had a bandage on.

"Don't worry, I am your ally."

"What?"

"Sorry I scared you earlier.. I guess I'm not used to showing up to normal people."

"Your missing eye...Did my brothah do that to you?"

"That's in the past."

Private sighed, "Evahyone seems to have it for him. But, you hate him too, right?"

"Because of our hate, we can't rest in peace. But I can save you. We need to get you out of here." He grabbed Private's flipper...

Author’s Note: So, this is kind of a spin-off of the movie, A Thousand Words (starring Eddie Murphy). It’s not going to be like the movie with the tree losing its leaves, though. It will be a little different. Hope you enjoy! Please review!

“Maurice! Where is my smoothie?!” Julien impatiently called from his throne. Maurice rolled his eyes and picked up his pace.

“It’ll be done in a minute, your highness. I’m trying to get it to blend evenly,” he explained as he watched the fruits in the blender mix into one color.

    “Well,...

???:what the.....where am...I-ugh! I must have twisted my leg.
Julien was inside a room, clustered with dusty and dirty chairs, where was he?

Julien:ugh... Where am I?

Julien began to walk around the room looking for clues as to where he was, on the other side of the classroom was Maurice lying on the ground.

Julien:!!!!, Maurice, Maurice answer me!

Julien couldn't reach him because of all the stuff in the way. He decides to leave the room to check to see if Maurice was ok. While leaving the room to check the other side, julien tripped and sprained his ankle even more.

Skipper, julien, Marlene, and Rico were all getting frustrated because they felt like they were going in a complete circle, they have no luck finding either private or kowalski, skipper was starting to get worried.

Rico: what if they got injured or worse because if spirits, or that huge guy who attacked me, I mean hell, I barely got away from that guy!

Skipper: enough! I know there both fine, there both strong, and they know not to give up so easily, now calm down , think positive!

Rico then realized that he was overreacting, he knew that they were both fine.

Marlene: but where could they be? I...

The next thing Private knows, he is on the ground; at his mother's feet. Something laid on top of the little penguin. It has to be what had pushed him. It begins to get up.
It is Nigel! He lifts him into his fins.
"Private!" His mother cries, and hugs him tightly.
"There's no time! We need to get out of here!" Nigel says sternly. His voice had no emotion, except urgency. Private had never seen his uncle so serious. He was always so light-hearted and cheery. Goofy uncle Nigel, Private's mother's older brother.
They rush between people and their legs. Most scream, while some men shove through the...

"Help!" Private screamed. Shock supressed his body so much-he could barely stand. The car came to a screeching stop. The headlights flickered off, and the side door began opening. As the penguin began getting out, Private began recognizing him more and more. "Oh my gosh!" Private gasped.
Skipper laid firm. Ramona circled in closer and closer. His eyes followed her to the best of their ablitities. "Sorry, must have dropped my ax. Better get it out." Ramona teased, and grasped the weapon with both flippers. She wedged it in even tighter, inflicting pain, which caused him to wince even more.

Private dashed into a hiding place, grasping the knife. The rocking chair was perfect! As he sat down, the door opened. Skipper shut it gently behind him. Anxiety portrayed on Skipper's face. Because he got closer, Skipper's footstep's got louder. Each thump made Private quiver.
Although it seemed Skipper was searching for something, his footseps stopped. Private poked his head out. He saw Skipper's back on his own bed. When Skipper reached for his nightstand, Private gasped. Instead of rummaging through the droor for his knife, he took a corded phone that was set on top. Private sighed in...

Although Monique and Kowalski were together, she doesn't always see eye to eye with Skipper. Usually it's her way of sneaking around or her passtimes that tend to bug the leader, but what they always tend to butt heads over is the way that she fights. Skipper and his team fight in a sophisticated and semi organized manner, while she ends up fighting in a rhythmic matter that's partially controlled by anger. Whenever she tries the moves Skipper teaches his team, she always feels like they are just not her.
One day, she felt like she wasn't taking control of what she feels like she should be doing...

The team was invited to participate in a fighting tournament. They will each be going against an enemy that they have some sort of connection to, yet never met before, but, they'd have to fight individually.
"Listen up, team. Today is the big day. We've done extra training for two weeks for this. Just because we'll be split up for this doesn't mean that we won't be the champs. If we're going to be strong on the outside, we're going to start by being strong on the inside and be confident that we'll take home the gold!" Skipper was saying.
The four high fived each other and they were on their ways...

During the honeymoon of the lovely penguin and bobblehead doll couple, the sun was setting on the water and things seemed peaceful.
"Lola, my sweet, we need to talk," Skipper started, staring at the bobblehead's smile.
"You see, we don't seem to connect as much as i thought we would. As much as it pains me to say it, beautiful, i think we should see other people," Skipper explained, breaking the ice.
As if making a response to Skipper's words, Lola slid off the roof, fell to the ground, and broke into pieces. Skipper partially felt guilt, but he spoke from the heart...

DAY 3
First thing in the morning, Skipper got the team up, to look into the discovery Kowalski made. None of them stopped until all the books were scattered on the floor. It had to have been impossible.
There was no possible trace of evidence. The room wasn't there, even. It was like it had just vanished.
"Sorry, Kowalski, but it's like there's no way this happened." Skipper said.
"I know, but you have to believe me! I saw it. I saw them!" Kowalski exclaimed.
"We do, Kowalski, it's just that this place makes it extremely hard." Private reassured Kowalski.
"Thanks, but I'm not sure if I even believe...

My mother looks down on me with concern. I reach my flipper up to my forehead, and examine it. As I scan my flipper, I realize it's covered in blood. Every breath filters me with pain. My torso aches, and my mid-back cramps. I'm the least of my worries now. My mother tolerated the storm with no shelter. "You poor thing! I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" She whispers and coughs. "I'm fine, momma, but you look sick. We should find a place to stay, so you can rest." I say. "Thank you, Skipper. There's a vacant igloo over there we can stay in." She says pointing to the snowy shelter.
We start waddling...
