Now I know theres going to be a lot of you out there reading this and thinking im an idiot and that I hate the series. Well thats not true I love this sieres, but a second is almost never a good idea.
Now as great as any form of media is, it will be defined by the culure built up around it. Its the consumers that create back story, like those ausome Annabeths point of view articles. All of these ideas spawn from a wanting of more information. The obvious answer is for the author to feed that and continue to make the books, but is that smart.
We will never be satisfied by the author, wake up IT CAN NOT HAPPEN. The satisfaction will actuly never come, the human brain dosnt work that way, a new series will just burn the series out more and more with every book.
We all want to believe that is what we want, but it isnt what we want is unubtainable. We want every nook and cranny of that universe filled in for us. Honestly do you really want anything less. Well no one can fullfill that. Especialy not the author whos just giving out more questions.
I believe if we want this sieres to prosper it shouldnt be the author who tries to save it. It has to be us. There are thousands of us out there if each one of us was to give a paragraph about the sieres then we would have made much more progress than Rick Riordan ever could. Its not his fault but its the truth.
The future of a sieres lies with the consumers, not the author. So Rick, thanks for the the thought and all but I think we can handel it.
