Number nine! Please read and comment! I love the comments haha. Number 10 will be up by tonight everyone!
And number 10 will be longer because my last two were really short (:
I was sitting on my bed in white sofees, white and grey running shoes, and my orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt trying to focus on the plan for the game today. Chiron let me go back to my cabin for a little bit after I finished dinner to get ready for capture the flag.
“Come on Annabeth, you gotta be out there in a minute, you can do this.” I said to myself.
I know what you’re thinking, I’m “nervous.” But I’m not. I promise. Just that little knaggy voice in the back of my head is telling me not to go on with this plan. That Percy could actually get hurt. Badly.
“But he wouldn’t die or anything, that’s against the rules. Although… that didn’t stop that boy from the Ares cabin that one time when “accidently” stabbed that one kid in the shoulder…But that wouldn’t happen to Percy.” I mumbled out loud, trying to convince myself that Percy would be fine. Not that I “cared so much for Percy” or anything, but if he got really hurt, this would be my fault, but he WON’T get hurt because LUKE’S going to get the flag and I’ll get to the river in time to help Percy fight against Clarisse. Everything is going to work out.
“Annabeth come on!” Travis, from the Hermes cabin yelled into the Athena cabin.
“Coming! Be there in a sec!” I yelled back, taking one last moment to erase all doubt for this plan. It’s going to work.
“Hey, guys!” I said to everyone jogging to the grey, beautiful banner that represented the Athena, Apollo, and Hermes cabins. It was so much nicer compared to the red mess that the Ares cabin made to represent Ares, Dionysus, Demeter, Hephaestus, and Aphrodite cabins. I can’t believe the Aphrodite girls actually let that mess represent them, but I guess the Ares guys scared them off when they tried to say anything.
“Hey, Annabeth! Chiron wanted us to go over the rules with you.”
Yeah I know, The creek is the boundary line, the entire forest is fair game, all magic items are allowed, the banner must be prominently displayed, and have no more than two guards., prisoners may be disarmed, but may not be bound or gagged, no killing or maiming is allowed, guards aren't allowed to stand within ten yards of the flag.” I said in one breath smiling. Everyone laughed, “Once an Annabeth, always an Annabeth.” The Stoll brothers said together. I just smiled and said,
“Lauren, take the middle of the flag. Chase, stop arm wrestling with Travis because you’re never going to win. Now take the right side of the flag. I got the left side.
“Okay, okay miss. Bossy Pants.” Chase said shuffling over and snapping away the right end of the flag from my hand.
“Just doing my job.”
“Just doing my job, blah blah blah.” He said mocking me. I rolled my eyes and took the left side of the flag. Everybody on our side cheered as we ran in holding out flag, of course, the Stoll twins were fighting over who was cheering the loudest. I cautiously glanced over to Luke, who was standing with Percy clapping and whistling. We made eye contact and we both smiled. A bright, tomato shade of red crept up my face, but slowly receded as the Clarisse and her gang ran in with their flag. Determination took over when Clarisse smirked at me. You are so going to lose, I mouthed to her. She just rolled her eyes and mouthed yeah, right, smart girl. I thought to myself, you know… smart girl isn’t really an insult. Stupid Ares girls.
