My name is Annabeth Chase. Before you get started reading I would just like to tell you that if at any point during this book you fell like this has happened to you, stop reading. Put the book down and forget you ever started reading. Anyways this is completely fantasy.

Well, I'm thirteen years old. I'm the daughter of the Greek goddess Athena, Goddess of wisdom. That makes me a half-blood. There is thousands of half-blood worldwide. Some lead normal lives and others train to become warriors at Camp Half-Blood on Long Island New York. I've been going to that camp since I was about 7 years old. There are magical borders protecting the camp from any monsters. It also prevents normal mortals from entering the camp.

At this camp there are children of almost all of the Greek gods and goddesses. Minor and major. There are 12 Olympians. They are Zeus. Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Ares, Apollo, Athena, and Artemis. I'm not going to get into that right now.

When I was 7 years old I ran away from my home in California. Luke Castellan and Thalia found me. Both of them are demigods. Luke is the son of Hermes and Thalia is the daughter of Zeus. I didn't know that at the time. Luke also ran away. Now to the actual story.

I was hiding behind a piece of cardboard when they found me. I also hadn't brushed my curly blonde hair in a few weeks so I'm sure I didn't look too pretty in my flannel pajamas armed with an old hammer I had found in a dumpster. When Luke and Thalia removed the piece of cardboard covering me, I jumped out screaming at the top of my lungs, swinging my hammer. I stepped back. Both of them were armed with weapons. The girl had a shield with some weird ladies head carved into it and the boy had a bronze knife. The was a girl about 12 years old and the was a boy about 14 years old.

"Woah woah woah. Calm down", said the boy with dirty blonde hair.
"Who, who are you?" I stammered.

"My name is Thalia", the girl said. She had bright blue eyes and dark black hair.

There was a moment of silence. Thalia elbowed the boy in the arm. He was wiping off his knife with the bottom of his shirt.
"Hm what. Oh. I'm Luke", he said as he flashed me a gorgeous smile.

"We're here to take you somewhere safe", Thalia said as she put her shield away which was a good thing because it was kind of scarring me.

"You’re not going to take me back home?" I asked

"No no no. Of course not," Luke said as a smile crept across his face.

"Here take this instead of that hammer", Luke said as he handed me his knife.

"You look pretty smart." Luke said as he pushed the hair covering my gray eyes.

"Yes! I am!" I said exclaimed. I remember feeling so excited that someone actually realized that I was smart and not crazy.

"Where are we going?" I asked as we left the alley I had been living in for the previous two weeks.
"Somewhere safe", Luke said as he picked me up and put me on his shoulders.

For the next month, Thalia, Luke and I walked and rode across the country to New York. We would stop every night and we would create safe spots for new half-bloods trying to get to Camp Half-Blood. After about a week, a boy about 12 found us and told us that we needed to come with him. He seemed very frightened and afraid. He was scrawny and had a bush of red hair on his head. He had crutches, which I found weird.
“Who said we needed to come with you?” Luke asked. Luke had become my father figure in the past few days, because I never really had a true dad, but I really needed one and Luke was available.

“Chiron told me to bring Thalia to Camp Half-Blood.” The boy panted.

“Who are you?” Thalia asked.

“My name is Grover,” Grover said.

He gestured us to fallow him. We warily fallowed him. For the next few weeks Grover helped us get back to Camp Half-Blood. Except, he never told us where we were going. He just told us that we needed to get there as soon as possible. About three weeks in, monsters –and I mean monsters- would appear. Grover would throw tin cans at them, Luke would slash at it with his knife, and Thalia would protect me with her shield with that weird lady’s head on it.

We got to this place. There were millions of monsters trailing us. We tried to fight them off. It was raining and thundering.

“Grover! Get Annabeth and Luke inside the borders!” Thalia shouted.

“No! I’m not leaving you Thalia!” I shouted tears streaming down my face.

There were monsters coming from every angle. Grover pulled me back through the gates.

“No Grover! Let me go!” I cried! I couldn’t stand the thought of losing Thalia. She was the first real friend I had ever had.

Grover held on with all his might. Luke was still fighting with Thalia. Tears were streaming down his face also. Thalia shoved Luke into camp borders. He fell, but didn’t have the strength to get back up.

“Thalia!” he cried as he reached his hand out to try to get up.

I looked back. Grover had tears behind his eyes, which he was trying to keep back. When I turned around, I saw Thalia fall to the ground.

I burst into tears. They came flowing faster than ever. I guess Grover was in shock. He loosened his grip on me. I burst though and ran to Thalia’s side. I placed her head on my lap.

“Thalia. You better not die!” I said trying to keep her alive. She just looked at me and smiled weakly.

“Goodbye Annabeth.” She said. She closed her eyes.

I patted her face.

“No Thalia Grace!” I cried. I raised my head. I saw Luke standing over me. I placed her head on the ground, and started crying gain. Luke wrapped his arms around me.

After a few minutes of crying, Thalia started to glow. I turned around and right where I had left her was a pine tree.

The next morning, Luke brought me somewhere
"Come on Annabeth. I want you to meet someone”, Luke said.

A horse man thing walked around the corner. I hid behind Luke.

"It's OK Annabeth, he's not going to hurt you," Luke said as he laughed.
