Hello! It's RocknRollSoul60 or Paul. I decided to write about the story of my dog, Piper. For those of you who don't know, I have a Gerberian Shepsky (German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix) named Piper. This month is actually the anniversary of when I got her. Without further ado, I'll begin the story.
A year ago this month, I was in a car crash. Some broken glass cut parts of my face, and I had to have stitches. I have scars to this day, but I did get the stitches out. The day after I got my stitches out, I came home from school to my new puppy. I had wanted to get a new dog for quite some time, since I lost my first dog, Oliver, in 2016. Anyway, my mother told me about my new friend, Piper. She told me that Piper's original owner had to give her up, because she developed an allergy to dogs.
Piper and I formed a very strong bond. I learned that she was three months old when I got her, and she was born Christmas Day 2016. Her original owner got her from a Siberian Husky breeder. That's where I learned that purebred dogs and mixed breed dogs can be born in the same litter. Piper's mother mated with the breeder's other Husky as well as what the breeder assumed was a German Shepherd Dog, which was Piper's father. I did a DNA test, and it revealed that her mother was a purebred Siberian Husky, and her father was half German Shepherd and half Siberian Husky. Piper's original owner was surprised, too. She has characteristics of both breeds, so we thought she was half and half. She gets her large size, solid black fur, and large, pointy ears from the German Shepherd. She gets her blue eyes and coat texture from the Siberian Husky. Her tail is in between the two breeds.
Piper is a wonderful dog. She is protective and loyal, and she is also very friendly and even-tempered. She gets along well with people, unless the people are jerks, other dogs, and smaller animals like birds and rodents. She is very playful and extremely intelligent. She loves to be brushed and bathed, and she loves going for long walks. I also call her my nurse dog. If I get sick or injured, she is extra affectionate with me. The same goes for my friends. I couldn't ask for a better dog.
I hope you enjoyed reading about Piper. Feel free to leave a comment below, and tell me if you'd consider getting a Gerberian Shepsky. Remember: no two dogs are alike, so do not get a Gerberian Shepsky expecting it to be like Piper.
Peace and love,
Paul
