Sex and Sexuality Question

Smitten boyfriends?

My boyfriend and I have been going out for nearly two years. I truly do love him and i hope he feels the same, i was just wondering how many people here get spoiled by their bf's. Dont get me wrong i dont care that i dont ever get jewelry, i guess i just expected more because of such stereotypes...does any one here just get random little girfts and romantic picknics and what not?

sorry if that made little or no sense....just what is the most romantic thing your partner has ever done for you?

I probably shouldn't be answering this, but I can't help myself. I've been with the same person forever and I consider myself lucky that he remembers my b-day. But I'm not exactly romantic either, in all fairness.

Some people just don't do the more stereotypical romantic gestures; they either think it's silly, or they take the overall view of everything that they provide in the relationship.

If you would like to do something like picnics, you'll either have to suggest it, or plan it yourself. Your boyfriend may very well have no idea that you'd like this, even after 2 years. Good luck!

Yes... everybody is different. I do consider myself romantic (at heart)...but I am not the cuddliest/or into "cute" really. I think it is just nice that I am thought of. (I do little things a lot too.)

Yes... the last two have been and my ex-husband was. I do not get roses from them, {I have from others}, and it is not always material things, but yes... and my heart charm bracelet from my ex husband broke last night! UGH... I cannot tell you how many times I have had to get that repaired! It is a soft gold and gold prices keep going up. It was not a cheap bracelet to begin with. Valued at several thousand and was a gift, {I only know because the jeweler needed to estimate for insurance when doing repairs} but I am not the type to ever expect that sort of thing. It is not important to me. I still wear it, though, I love it, and I never take it off.

The most romantic thing i ever had done for me was my ex-boyfriend cooking me dinner. He'd lit candles, made a real effort to get all my vegan food perfect even though he hated the taste and bought me a lovely silver bracelet that was gift wrapped on my plate.
I was very touched he'd gone through all the effort and was grateful, but every time someone i love does things like that for me it makes me feel uncomfortable. Like i owe them something in return.
That's why on first dates (which i haven't been on for a while now XD) i always split the bill 50/50 or arrange a second where i pay instead. I hate being in debt to someone, and for me having romantic things happen, like gifts being given or something nice being done for me is a debt.
I'm not a romantic person, and when romantic things happen i feel physically sick and start worrying on how to pay them back. Strange and not something i should worry about i know, but i do.

As for the partner i have now who i've been with for 5 years, have a home and family with, the most romantic thing he's done for me was put the toilet seat down XD
