"Shit! Shock, MOVE!" Light yelled, grabbing Shock's arm and pulling him out of the way a bare second before an animated corpse flung itself at him, teeth bared.
Bringing his claws forth, Light, as the only one on the team immune to the virus going around, slashed right through the beast's head, trying to prevent the sick giggle from rising in his throat. Failing at doing so, he cracked into laughter as the body slumped, blood gushing from the wounds raking it's chest and face.
"Light... That isn't funny..." Shock said dubiously, clearly a little frightened of his brother's sadistic behaviour.
"Oh, come on..." Light grinned maniacally, using a single claw to slice the Zombie's head off, "That was fucking hysterical! It crumpled like an old newspaper!"
"Uh, no... It wasn't." Shock frowned, turning away from the gory sight now behind him.
"That attitude'll be the death of you, Shock," Light rolled his eyes, "You better nut up. I'm not always going to be able to save your ass."
"Well I can look after myself!" Shock snapped back at him, turning away and ignoring the fact that Light was still taking down the Zombies.
For someone with seemingly boundless amounts of energy, the dark wolf was finally starting to wear down. As he slashed with his claws, taking the beasts down, he began to pant.
His claws cut through their flesh like a warm knife through butter. Not a jolt when he hit bone, no resistance through the toughest of muscle, organs, or fat.
It was typical of the Zombie apocalypse that when the group split up, the shit hit the fan. That was exactly what happened.
Tenanah and Shane had gone searching for food and clean water, while Shock and Light were to make sure nothing happened to their vehicle. Of course, the exact second that Shane was out of earshot, the dead descended upon the two teens.
Which was why they were fighting for their lives.
Empty eyes stared into Shock's green, a bare second before the former's lit up bright red as several thousand volts coursed through it's body. Much less gory than Light's preferred method of killing, Shock kicked the corpse out of his way before firing his electricity at the next one.
"How ya goin' there, Shock?" Light grunted in-between swipes.
"Better than you, apparently," Shock replied simply, sticking his leg out to trip an onrushing corpse, before flipping it over and sending deadly volts of electricity coursing through it, "Wearing down?"
"Shut up." Came Light's simple response as he cut another body into clean quarters, throwing the pieces at the next one.
"We can't keep this up much longer..." Shock said with a frown, "We need to get out of here!"
"And loose the car? Are you kidding!?" Light growled, "Not having it is as good as suicide!"
"I really doubt Dad would kill us for something as simple as loosing the c-" Shock began, only to be interrupted by a rather furious Light.
"DAD won't kill us! Don't you see? Without the car, we can't GET places. You know what Dad always says? 'Keep moving. If you can move you're still in the game. When you stop, you're dead.' All right!? So just keep the fucking ute safe!"
Shock sighed, still charging electricity through his palms and into the hoard, taking out another few of the infected, but most certainly not diminishing the overall, sheer numbers.
Indeed, all their efforts so far had done was less than a scratch on the raw power that came with the physical quantity that was this dead army. Not even a dint in their defence.
What made a bad situation worse was that now their numbers seemed to increase as more and more came in search of the flesh before them, following the sounds of screams and grunts and groans.
Eyeing the ever growing hoard, Light could only think of one word to describe their current predicament.
"Shit."
