Carter, Peter Pan, and The Lost Boys Chapter Four
What do you want? I asked.
I want you and Peter to be dead. Hook said.
Keep dreaming. I said.
I took off running, not even chancing to look back. I went back to the Indian Cave so if Hook did come, I would have some help fighting him.
Everyone was dancing by fire and singing something that I didn't know which was typical.
Hey Carter. Nadan said.
I jumped a little bit when he came up behind me.
Hey Nadan. I sighed.
Nadan was my idian friend. His name means friend , king, son, and one who brings happiness.
I didn't mean to scare you. Is something wrong? He asked.
Nah, just saw Hook and got a little freaked. I said.
Oh, where was he? Nadan asked.
I don't know not far from here. I said.
Oh well don't worry about him. Thanks for bringig Toger Lily back. He said.
Eh, I didn't do much. I said.
You just risked your life and went to fight Hook alone. Nadan smiled.
His smile was bright even in the dark.
How did you know? Peter thinks it was all him, like always. I said.
I have my ways. He said.
The mermaids? I asked.
You know it! Those things gossip as fast as a cheeta can run. Nadan laughed.
His laugh was a very distinct laugh. It was soothing and beautiful.
I laugh along with him.
Why did you get up and leave? He asked.
Well, I was dozing off and Peter was just being his mean self. I said.
Oh, I see. He said.
Yep. I smiled.
Did you want to go home? Nadan asked.
Sort of. I said.
Why don't you go? You look tired. He said.
Hook might follow me. I said.
Are you scared of Hook? He asked, rasing an eyebrow. It showed me that he was curious.
No. I answered strongly.
Are you sure? He asked.
He was curious to know what I was feeling.
'Nadan', I sighed. 'I am sure that I am not scared.'
You can tell me if you are. I won't tell and you are a girl living with boys that don't have fear. He said.
I am not scared and I am just as brave as the boys. I said friecely.
I looked him in the eyes and left.
Carter, come back. I'm sorry. Nadan yelled.
I shook my head and kept walking.
Oliver's POV
Carter could be the biggest drama queen. She just doesn't understand when to be nice and obey orders. She needs to learn to follow the rules. I know I shouldn't be talking about rules, I never follow them. But Carter should learn to take orders from Braden, Peter, and I. When we tell her to do something than she needs to do it.
We went back to the tree house and Carter wasn't there. She must be doing something. Probably practicing her aim, she depended on her aim most of the time when fighting when bow and arrows.
The boys and Peter didn't even realize that Carter was gone because Wendy was telling a story. I watched Reid, Kyle, and Ryan lay in there beds, already fast asleep. We eventually all went to sleep when we stopped talking.
Morning came and Carter wasn't under me, sleeping on the table. Surely she wouldn't have stayed out all night. Well, maybe she came in late and got up early, that is probably what she did.
We went about our normal activities which I had to admit that I was a little worried that Peter hasn't even noticed that she was gone.
I decided to go to talk to mermaids, they would know for sure.
Where is Carter? I asked when I arrived.
We don't know. They said.
I shouldn't worry since the mermaids didn't know anything about her absence.
That night Carter showed up, a little bit beat up.
What happen to you? I asked.
Nothing. She shrugged.
But you look like you have been beat up. I said.
I'm just dirty. Carter snapped.
Okay. I said as I let it go.
Peter, is he a new lost boy? Wendy asked.
No, her name is Carter. He said.
Oh why does she have boy's name? She asked.
Because we didn't know girl names at the time. Peter said.
Why is she the only girl here besides me? She asked.
Because she wasn't adopted by anyone so she came here. He said.
Wendy started to say some but Carter interupter her.
Put a sock in it, you talk to much. Carter said.
Peter saw that Carter had hurt Wendy's feelings a lot.
Say that you're sorry. Peter demanded.
I will do no such thing. Carter said.
She sure has started acting weird.
Carter jumped up in the hamack above the table and ignore everything that Peter yelled towards her.
Peter it's okay, just let her be. Wendy said.
Peter looked at Wendy and than back at Carter, than they left. It became very quiet.
Carter, what's wrong? I asked again.
Nothing, just leave me alone. She said in frustration.
What do you want? I asked.
I want you and Peter to be dead. Hook said.
