Cambridge Academy Chapter Seventeen
[b]Ian's POV[b]
"You don't have to walk me to breakfast."Ivie said as her light turned red. "Even if it is for today!"
"Oh well, I wanted to, you know for a present." I whispered.
"You have given me to much!" She said. "I am terrible, I have not given you anything!"
"You don't have too." I shrugged. "Just having a someone I know really well is enough!"
She looked down as her light turned red.
"Are you embarrassed?" I asked as she looked up at me. "Your light is red."
"My light? How can you see that, now else can!" She said shocked.
"I can see it and I am guessing red is embarrassment." I said. "It's okay, I will not tell anyone."
She smiled as her light turned to yellow. "What are you feeling?"
"I can't tell you all my feelings." Ivie said still smiling. "You will have to find out yourself."
"How will I find out if you do not tell me?" I asked. "You have to tell me!"
"Nah, you are smart." She said. "You can figure out."
We got in line behind Marie, Sadie, and Gabe. I typed in my number and Valspar started talking.
"Good morning Ian, happy birthday." Valspar said. "Here is breakfast."
"I think I will skip breakfast." Ivie said. "I am not feeling very hungry this morning."
I tried not to laugh. Ivie really did not want anyone to know it was her birthday.
The monitors came over to us. "Ivie the Headmaster and Coach would like to see you ring now."
Ivie didn't say a word but they followed her as she walked out to go to the Headmaster's office.
"Wonder what she did now?" Marie mumbled.
"She has not done a thing!" I said. "Why are you so mean to her?!"
"Oh come on Ian, it was a joke!" Marie said.
"No it was not and you know it." I said annoyed as we sat down.
"Come on, why was she in your room this morning?" She asked in a whisper. "In nothing but her pajamas!"
"She came to wish me a Merry Christmas!" I said. "I hugged her right before you all came in. To thank her for getting up early and wishing me a happy birthday!"
"Okay." Marie muttered.
We ate our breakfast in silence until Ivie popped in.
"Ivie!" Sadie said. "How did you get in here?"
"I jumped!" She smiled brightly. "They took the bracelet off!"
"I am surprised that they took it off." Gabe said. "I thought they would have left it on so you do not jump out of here!"
"Um yeah me too." She said. "Are you going to finish eating that, Ian?"
She pointed to my half waffle that laid on the plate. "Naw, go a head." I said. "It's cold go get your breakfast."
"Too lazy and I don't have time." She said.
"Why do you not have time to get breakfast?" Gabe asked as monitors came up.
They grabbed Ivie's arm and then they were gone.
"I sure hate to be them when they get to Headmaster's office." I said. "They will land with a hard thud."
I waited a few minutes after the bell rang to see if Ivie would have came back.
I finally had to go to class where she was sitting. A yellow light hovered over her head.
