"I just can't believe that you're like me. I mean, not exactly like me, but just...like me. You know?" -- Alicia
Clark and Alicia talk about their powers.Clark and Alicia's relationship was intense; Alicia was obsessive, but Clark, for his part, was strongly attracted to her as well because she accepted him and his powers without judgment and he felt he could be himself around her. Even though she appeared in three episodes, the relationship between Clark & Alicia became very popular with fans referring to it as "Calicia"
In Obsession, Alicia's feelings for Clark developed quickly, probably because she avoided too much social interaction for fear that others would find out her secret and misjudge her. Clark was relieved that he did not have to hide his secret from her. Upon finding this out, Alicia became obsessive and psychotic, to the point of injuring her own family members and attempting to kill others. She thought she was doing these things out of her love for Clark, to prove herself to him and for the sake of their relationship. She claimed their powers made them different and that she and Clark should be able to do whatever they want with complete disregard for morality. However, Clark knew better and was the only one able to stop her, no matter how much he may have liked her before her breakdown.
Clark and Alicia get caught. In Unsafe, Alicia was obviously much better. After spending nearly a year at Belle Reve she seemed to have learned to respect her powers, though her better judgment was still clouded by her feelings for Clark. She was obviously still in love with him and at some point during the year, she learned more about him and, more specifically, the effect that red kryptonite had on him.
While Clark was on red K, his behavior encouraged her even further and she convinced herself that he finally felt the same way about her as she has felt about him all this time, ignoring the more obvious explanation that his feelings were exaggerated by his lack of inhibitions. Kal encouraged her to use her powers again and broke the bracelet himself. She redeemed herself by protecting Clark's secret, finally proving that she does truly care for him, even if it isn't always shown in the (usually selfish) choices she made.
In Pariah, it would seem that Alicia was almost completely rehabilitated, apologizing to Lana, not relying on her powers so much, and showing much less radical behavior. Clark quickly forgave her transgressions and stood up for her when the entire town blamed her for attacking Jason and Lana.
Clark holds Alicia after their breakup in Unsafe. However, he too began to suspect her, changing their relationship severely. When he asked her to turn herself in, she once again felt she had to prove herself to him. By asking him to tell others his secret, he was hesitant, fearing what others would think of him.
Truly believing that others would accept her if they knew the truth about Clark, she went back on her word protect his secret and exposed his powers to Chloe. However, it is notable that she chose Chloe, probably knowing how close she and Clark were, and if anybody could handle the information objectively, she would. She could have chosen Lana, knowing the history between her and Clark, which would have severely changed or even possibly ruined their friendship. This choice makes it seem like Alicia did not tell his secret in order to hurt Clark, but to free him from the burden of it.
When she was killed, Clark mourned her for days, knowing that she died thinking he still suspected her of attacking Lana and Jason. He also regretted not divulging his secret, wondering if she would still be alive if he had and stating that he could not forgive himself for this fact. Clark didn't get any closure before her death and probably still carries the burden of it, as well as his own unresolved feelings, on his shoulders.
