maryksand I don't entirely agree with Riley loving Buffy in a much more healthy way than Angel or Spike, because Riley is a human and according to human standards going to vampire hookers at risk of being drained to feel something when Buffy in his opinion wasn't paying enough attention to him while dealing with her dying mom isn't exactly the epitome of healthy love. Riley REALLY tried but he felt like he couldn't measure up to Buffy or it was Buffy who couldn't give him what he needed and in the end of the day their relationship were meant to fall apart and that is what was, in my opinion, the main problem. But I completely agree with everything he said about Spuffy, in fact, the reason why I always thought that Spike/Buffy were the best and the strongest relationship on BTVS is because they always kept changing, developing and growing, going through different stages and only becoming stronger while overcoming both good and bad together. Bangel relationship didn't handle the first sign of drama whereas Spuffy formed a connection that went beyond lovers and their love literally saved the world turning both Buffy and Spike into the ones they are always meant to become, giving both of them strength to fight and win.
