It was a beautiful day in Beach City. Steven was sleeping in his bed when all of a sudden he was awoken by Jasper, who wanted to apologize for what she has done and that she actually enjoyed everyone's company before the Diamonds left. She decided to do so by taking him out to do something.
"HEY HEY SLEEPY HEAD!!!" She said with a grin on her face. Steven still didn't even budge. He lied there like a dead rat on a rock. Since that didn't work, Jasper decided to pick up his bed and turned it around. It did the trick perfectly. Steven woke up to see that he was high off the ground and that Jasper was acting quite silly in his bedroom. Steven yelped, "Jasper!! Wh-what are you doing? Why are you trying to wake me up? I can do this by myself, can't I!!?" Jasper dropped his bed which made a loud thump when it hit the ground of his room hardly. "Steven!! Wake up!! Want to go to Funland!!?" Steven looked up at Jasper. He hid himself under the covers laying on his bed just then and turned facing the wall. She took the blanket off of him. She wants for him to pay attention to what she has to say.
"Steven!! This is to apologize for what I have done! If you don't accept it, I mean..." She hid her teary eyed face behind her yellowish hair. "Th-that's fine too.. "
As Jasper placed her foot on the middle step, Steven got up and touched Jasper's left arm. "It's ok Jasper! Let's do this together!"
Jasper turned her head towards Steven but suddenly she looked the other way, hiding her tears. Steven held her hand and took her outside where they could spend time together! He opened the door up wide. The sun beats onto Jasper's face like a campfire's smoke. They walk down the boardwalk where there's games, rides, food, and activities. "So, this is where I go when I need something fun to do!!" Jasper looked around at all the shops and restaurants wondering what they should do to start this terrific day. Peedee peeks his head out of Dewey's- I mean- the Tots shop! He realizes Steven is walking with a friend and it's not just him today!
"STEVEN!!! Long time no see!! Do you want the bits, tots, or are you just walking around with your friend?" Peedee asked, placing his hand on his chin. Steven corrected him, saying that Jasper is an acquaintance of his but he's trying his best to get to know her more! Peedee nods his head, "Oh oh! Alright! So, do you want the bits!? Or possibly the tots?"
Steven waves his tiny hand and chuckles softly. "Nonono! I'm just walking around!" Steven then notices a girl sitting next to the ocean writing in a book and her eyes gazing onto the ocean.
"Uh.." Steven paused for a moment. He went over to the girl. Jasper stayed in place just watching him go up to her.
"Hello! The name's Steven Universe!" The girl turns her head and looks up into Steven's eyes. "What's yours?" He asked.
"Oh.. Uh.. Hi!" She quickly said. "The name is Shelly!" She seemed very sweet, but also quite awkward. Steven decided to look up at the ocean with her, since there's nothing better to do. Besides, it would be rude to just leave at a time like this. "Hey, You seem pretty familiar..." Shelly had her pointer finger on her chin looking down.
"Yeah! There's several people who look like me around here!" He giggled. "So.. What made you plan on staying here? Where did you originally live?"
Shelly took a deep breath and sighed sweetly. She decided to tell the whole story. "Well... You see... I originally didn't really have a place to live. I usually just lived with my older brother! I have ALWAYS dreamed of being a famous writer or artist so that's the main reason I tried moving! But apparently there's no job like that around Beach City.." Steven stepped a bit closer to her. "Why don't you just share your art or stories with everyone here?" Shelly began to sign. "You don't know how embarrassing my art and stories are! I like keeping them to myself until I improve! But I'm sure I'll get way better one day! I'm pretty sure my oldest brother would be pretty proud of me if I did become famous! He died in a car crash when I was 3.. But I try to forget about it and just smile ya know?" Steven looks at Shelly in concern. He stood there, thinking for a minute. "Hmm.." He said looking at the water.
