Daniel stepped onto the streets ahead of him, packed with different families doing their regular thing. One of the families Daniel knew. A familiar face stepped out of the car - his best friend Jonathan. Jonathan's mother caught a glimpse of Daniel in the corner of her eye. She turned round with a smile on her face. "Hello Daniel! How are you today?"
"I'm fine thanks, how about you?" Daniel answered politely. "I'm very good thankyou. I suppose you'll be wanting to see Jonathan?" she asked him.
"Er, yes please." He walked over to greet Jonathan.
"How are you Dan?" Jonathan asked. "Your mother just asked me that! Anyway, I'm fine!" Daniel joked. "That's good to here!" He replied, "So you ready then?" "Yeah! Let's go get Tommy!" Daniel replied before they both raced off to find Tommy. After passing many houses with their own unique themes, they finally reached Tommy's house. It was a rather small house as he only lived with his mother,Joan and his sister,Mary. Tommy's father was fighting in the war and he missed him dearly. Whenever they got mail, he gets worried incase there's bad news, but there never is. Tommy doesn't like to boast about his father, especially as Daniel hasn't got one anymore.
Daniel and Jonathan made their way up the path towards the front door. Jonathan raised his hand to knock on the great black door in front of them. The knock spread through the house like a fire, following through each wall, into Tommy's ears. He sprinted down his wooden stairs, and made his way to the door. It opened with a creak. "Hi! Are you ready!? We don't want to keep the girls waiting!" Jonathan said cheekily, whilst nudging Daniel, who was also giggling. Tommy shook his head in a 'what are you like?' way, but smiled too. "I'll just say goodbye to my mother and we'll be off. So off he went to say goodbye, and after a quick kiss and hug, he was out the door and into the town.
"So, you heard from your dad recently?" Daniel asked recently. Tommy didn't want upset him but didn't want to sound rude so he answered him anyway. "No not really. I got his last letter a month ago, but I'll probably get one soon. You know what the army's like! They don't send the letters until weeks later!"
"Yeah! I know what you're saying. I've still got dad's letters. I don't look through them though, I don't have the nerve." Daniel said. There was an awkward silence. None of them knew what to say. Luckily, the silence was soon broken as a shy, quiet voice was heard from behind them...

Melody and Jake were escaping while Lisa and Alex were trying to fit in through the small hole Melody and Jake left. "Help me pull this rock, out, Alex!" Lisa exclaimed, pulling on a gigantic gray rock. Alex got up quickly, and tried to help Lisa. After a few minutes of pulling, the rock came out, and....The rocks fell more onto Lisa and Alex! Meanwhile, Jake and Melody were setting tons of pranks up in the living room of The Mystery Family. "This is gonna be good!" Melody exclaimed, tying a pin to a string. "What's that gonna do?" Jake asked. "You'll see." Melody said, and tied the string to a hook on the ceiling.
Lisa rubbed and messed up Jake's hair. "That's my Jake!" she exclaimed. "Guys?" asked Alex. "Yes Alex?" asked the children. "Am I the only one who feels the ground shaking rumble-y?" asked Alex. "That's not a word, but no!" exclaimed Lisa. Suddenly, the ceiling started to cave in, and the Jerkily Family's children were...Trapped. "Lisa, I'm double-scared!" Melody exclaimed. "It's okay, Melody. We'll be fine as long as we stay together." said Lisa. There was another awkward silence. There was a tiny hole, and Jake and Melody weren't there. "Oh, come on!" exclaimed Lisa and Alex.
Lisa, her sister, Melody, and their brothers, Alex and Jake, were sent off to a dark manor for the summer. A family concluding of a Mother, Diane, a Father, Christopher, twins, Amy and Lacey, and a boy, Bobby. "Lisa?" asked Melody. She was the youngest girl in the family. "Yes, Melody?" said Lisa. She was the oldest child. Melody clung onto Lisa. "I'm scared!" she said in a shaky voice. "Welcome to Mystery Manor." Diane said, in that old 1980's pretty lady voice. Christopher picked up Diane. "You'll have the time of your life." Lacey and Amy said in a creepy low Wednesday Addams voice. Then, the family walked into the darkness. "That was weird." said Jake. There was awkward silence. "I love it!"
