D sat on her bad, and Samantha sat at the table, working at her computer. "Find anything?" asked D. She opened the pizza box and bit off the end of a slice of pepperoni.

Samantha scrolled down the list of files she'd hacked into. "About Samuel and Dean Winchester? No, nothing. No record of anyone by either name."

D nodded. "Okay, then." She opened her duffel bag and checked the shotgun to be sure it was loaded.

Samantha gave her a puzzled look. "Rock salt?"

"Yep."

Samantha turned sideways in her chair, resting her elbow on the back of it. "D, I think they're human. Shoot 'em with rock salt, you'll just piss 'em off."

D shook her head. "They're not human. They can't be."

"Well, what do you think they are?" wondered Samantha. "We invited them in to talk, they walked right over the devil's trap under the rug, and Sam even used a silver-plated ink pen to write down his cell phone number- which is identical to mine, by the way."

D looked up at Samantha. "Where'd he get a pen like that, anyway?"

"I gave it to him," Samantha said.

Now D was really curious. "Where'd you get it?"

"Um..." Samantha looked sheepish. "About a year and a half ago, that thing when Zachariah turned us into a couple of geeks for that company and we didn't know who we were... after I got my memory back, before we left, I took it off your desk. Thought it might come in handy next time we meet a shapeshifter."

D raised her eyebrows. "You stole my pen?"

Samantha argued, "It wasn't really your pen, D."

"Don't get defensive," D said calmly. "I'm not upset. It was actually a good move, Sammy."

Samantha looked disturbed by D's approval.

D set the gun down and reached for the rest of her slice of pizza. "Even if they are human, they're still dangerous. I mean, they claim to have the same history we do: sons of John and Mary Winchester, have a friend named Bobby Singer, mother died in a fire, and they're hunters." She bit into her pizza and added, her mouth full, "The only difference is that they got a brother named Adam."

"Yeah, but we've got a sister named Eve," Samantha reminded her. "So the only real difference is that they're men and we're women. I mean, everything about them is exactly the same."

D frowned. "Not exactly the same."

"Oh, no? Their clothes, their car, their mannerisms, thier vocabulary and word choices, their names... even the height proportions. Sam looked to be about 6'4", and Dean was, I guess, around 6'1". I'm 5'10" and you're 5'7"." Samantha shrugged. "It's the same, basically. I'm pretty sure Dean even eats the way you do."

D held a second slice of pizza aloft in the air. "Got a problem with the way I eat?"

Samantha grimaced as D tilted her head back and shoved half the slice in her mouth. Samantha shook her head disapprovingly. "So, uh... I was thinking, maybe we should question them some more, privately."

D looked puzzled. "What do you mean, 'privately'?"

"You can talk to Dean, and I'll talk to Sam, one-on-one."

"One-on-one?" D raised her eyebrows. "You got a thing for that sasquatch?"

"What?" Samantha rolled her eyes. "Would you get your mind out of the gutter, please? For just one second?"

"Okay," D agreed, shoving the pizza crust in her mouth. "Time's up."

Samantha pressed her lips together, forming her notorious "bitchface." A little frustrated, she said, "Look, would you... just go with me on this one, okay?"
