Every time Taylor Swift gets together with Ellen DeGeneres, the young country star seems to open up like never before once she sits herself down on the Ellen couch.
Swift made yet another stop by DeGeneres’ show for an interview (airing Wednesday), and in true Ellen style, she started peppering Swift with questions about her romantic life, though it was all in good fun. After prodding a bit about Taylor having a boyfriend, Swift swore that she was single, explaining the reasons why:
"I don’t have boyfriend, like oh my god. You’d know I had a boyfriend. I for real don’t have a boyfriend. I sit by myself and I watch “Law & Order.” I don’t have a boyfriend. I don’t even have like kind of a boyfriend. I don’t have someone that I’m texting that is a guy that someday might be my boyfriend. There’s like nothing going on right now…. If you’re the girl that needs a boyfriend and once she loses that boyfriend needs to replace it with a different boyfriend. It’s just this constant stream of boyfriends all the time. I don’t feel like I ever want to be that girl. I want to be the girl that when she falls in love, it’s a big deal and it’s a rare thing.”
DeGeneres called Swift “a good role model” following her answer, saying “I think there are a lot of women and young girls that look at you and listen to you.”
