"They will save us all"
"You know he is kind of cute." Milly said, smiling. "Bull. I know for a fact that you like Sora, Milly. Don't think I'm an idiot." Chris said. Milly and Chris are fifteen years old. Chris's real name is Christina, but everybody calls her Chris. They both have superpowers. Milly stared at Chris. "Fine smart ass. I'll admit it just once. I think Sora is cute." Milly said. "He's coming." Chris said. Sora is fifteen and he has ear-length brown hair and blue eyes. Sora stopped by Milly and Chris. "Hey Milly." He said cooly. "Hey Sora." Milly said. "What's up?" Sora asked. "Not much. You?" Milly asked. "Not much. Do you guys want to walk to class with me?" He asked. "Sure, why not?" Milly said, shrugging.Chris smiled.
The three stepped into the drama classroom just as the bell rang and sat down. Their drama teacher, Miss Lee had an announcement. “Okay class, after school there are auditions for the school talent show. Please try to audition.” Miss Lee said. “Hey Milly, our band should try out!” Chris suggested. “Um, Well, I don’t know. We should ask Gem also. She’s in the band too.” Milly said.
When Milly and Chris were walking, they heard somebody call their names. They turned and saw Gem walking toward them. “Hey, what’s up?” She asked. “There’s a talent show and I think we should enter our band in it.” Chris blurted out. Milly gave her an ‘I hate you’ look. “Sure, I’m game.” Gem said. The three split up, going to their next classes.
Milly entered her fifth period class and stopped. A low growl escaped from her lips. There, sitting on her desk, was a boy with short black hair and black eyes. Joey the jerk(jock) Milly walked to her desk and Joey walked over to her. “Hey Milly.” Joey said. Milly ignored him. “Oh come on. Don’t be like that. Everybody knows that I like you.” Joey said. “Just who do you think you are?” Milly asked harshly. “Well, I think that I’m Joey, and that you’re pretending not to like me.” Milly’s eyes narrowed. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” Milly almost yelled. “Come on Milly don’t be like that…..” Joey put his hand on Milly’s arm and Milly slapped Joey. “Joey what did you do this time?” Milly just noticed that Sora was by them. “Nothing.” Joey said. “Joey, you tried to hit on Milly again.” A girl said. “Shut up Janie.” Joey hissed. Miss. Bee walked in. “Joey sit down.”
At lunch, Milly sat with her friends Chris, Gem, Sora, Derek, and Salvador. “What up?” Derek asked. “Not much.” Gem said when she sat down. “So Sora, are you gonna audition for the talent show?” Salvador asked. “Yep.” “What’s your talent?” “You’ll see.” He said, smiling. “Awwww, come on Sora. Tell us!” Chris said. “Okay, enough. If Sora doesn’t want to tell us his talent, then we’ll just have to wait until the talent show.” Milly said. “Thanks Milly.” Milly smiled.
The next day at school Chris came tearing through the crowd of students and stopped when she reached Milly. “We’re in!” Chris nearly yelled. “In what? The talent show?” Milly asked. “Yes! And you’ll never guess what happened!”
“What?”
“You. And. Sora. Have. To. Do. A. Duet. In. The. Talent. Show!” Chris said in a breath. They went to find Sora, and saw him staring at the billboard, hard as stone. “Sora?” Chris said. Sora didn’t respond. “Sora, your wanted back at planet earth!” Milly said. “Huh? What? Oh hey Milly. Hey Chris.” Sora said. They walked to their first period in silence. They were stopped by Becky. Becky has blue hair and turquoise eyes. Her nickname is ‘Blue’. She’s 14. “Milly, Chris and Sora, you guys need to go to the gym. Everybody in the talent show has too.” Blue said.
“Dammit.” Milly said. “Come on Milly.” Sora said.
When they got to the gym, they saw all of the people in the talent show. “Okay everybody! Sit down!” Miss. Lee said, stepping forward. “We wanted to call together a meeting for all of you talented kids.” Miss Bee said. “We want to say that all of us will be meeting here twice a day before lunch, and after school.” Miss. Lee said. “Why?” a student asked. “Because you guys are going to need practice. The talent show is only two weeks away, and we don’t want you all to be unprepared. Now let’s start! We might as well use all day to practice.” Miss. Bee said.
During the hour that fifth period would have been, they were practicing the finale’. “So, you two are going to sing ‘Don't go breaking my heart’.” Miss. Bee said. “Okay.” Milly said, getting the microphone. “I don’t see how Milly got the part to sing with Sora. I deserve it.” Ruby said. Ruby is just like Joey, but worse. “Shut up you whore.” Milly said. “Aren’t you going to do something?” Ruby asked Miss. Bee. “No.” Ruby stomped away angrily.
When school got out, Milly went over to Sora. “Hey Sora, everybody’s coming over to my house for video games. Want to come?” She asked. Sora shook his head. “Sorry but, I can’t.” “Oh, okay. See you tomorrow.” Milly said, walking to their friends. Sora turned around and sullenly started walking home. “Man, I wish that I could go with them.”
