Which Fanpoppers love and bliss, hooch and I fear,
The nominations, done and the votes have been cast,
The First Annual Fanpoppy Awards are here at last!#

#Stand up and give a bow to the Fanpop hordes,
But please keep the speeches short or else we'l get bored,
So lets get this showstopper off to a flying start,
And introduce the Fanpoppy brains, arms and heart!#

#Blisslikethis, our organisational queen,
Hooch-is-crazy, who hatched this crazy scheme,
Dazl, who is just confused by it all,
Thus ends our panellists roll call.#

Fanpoppers and Fanpoppettes, welcome to the first annual Fanpoppy Awards. All the votes are in, and after feverish counts and recounts, we are now ready to announce the winners.

But first, a huge thank you to Dave, Papa, Michael and Cliff, who put so much effort into this site to make it enjoyable for us. Without them, there would be no Fanpoppies. So thank you, guys!

Dude, I’ve won a fanpoppy!
I’ve broken out into spontaneous poetry!
I don’t know quite what to do now,
I love it, and don’t want to seem a cow,
Eternally grateful to those who voted
And the judges, wonderfully devoted
The night has been a blast
Near a week, did it last?
No noticeable disasters,
No need for any plasters.

The people that deserve a special award

Now, don't worry I'm not going to try and beat the longest soapbox record again. This is just a short one as i think there a certain few people out their who deserve a very special award.

Now every one that has contributed to the fanpoppies has been brilliant.
We have had some hilarious and original art work, with anything from custom fanpoppies to fanpoppies appearing in our favorit tv shows. We had picks about anything from what songs to sing, to what speeches to give,
and as brilliant as all this content has been, it wouldn't even exist if it were not for three fantastic people who have worked to build this spot and have collected hundreds of nominations and votes.

These are of course our brilliant panel judges

who have worked so hard to bring us the first, ever fanpoppy awards and i'm sure i say this on behalf of everyone

First of all, this is by no means an acceptance speech. DrDevience started the tradition of us constructive criticism award winners NOT giving a speech, and therefor I'm continuing it. Besides, it's like, four months later, and you're still waiting for my acceptance speech? Aren't you lovely and devoted fans! But alas, I shall disappoint you, yet again. That is the curse of being worshiped.

Second of all, I thought I'd just say what everyone has been thinking-- the 2009 Fanpoppies were cold. Ice cold. Actually, that's a little unfair. Ice cold implies that there was effort that went in to making...

I've never done this before, I'll try to keep it short and simple, so here I go! I would just like to say thank you to the judges and for all their hard work organizing this event and thank you to everyone who participated! Thanks to everyone who voted for me. I would also like to thank Dave Lu, because without him their would be no 'Dave Lu Humanitarian' award. You are all beautiful, wonderful people! I am honored that you would even think of me for this. Everyone's a winner in my books. :)

The setting: Fanpoppy awards ceremony. Last year’s winner for Outstanding Contributions to Videos, Neeki, stands at the podium. There is a wave of applause as she reads out the nominees for Outstanding Contributions to Links. The applause eventually dies down and a hush falls throughout the room as Neeki rips open the envelope. The nominees are on the edge of their seat, poised to rush on stage the moment their name is read.

Everyone waits eagerly to hear the winner's name.

I have to say I’m usually pleasantly surprised whenever I open up fanpop. Whether it’s the awesome links, videos, images, or picks that are posted or the crazy shenanigans of the users, there’s always something interesting going on here.

This morning (or evening, depending on which side of the ponds you live in) was no exception with the announcement of the fanpoppies. It’s always amazing how these webevents bring out much excitement and bring out the best in everyone. So I guess it’s time to make a quick acceptance speech for the awards that you all have bestowed upon me. I promise...

It took me over 3 hours to compile this list. My eyes are now permanently crossed and my brain has turned to mush. That being said, if you notice that something you nominated doesn't appear on this list it is likely due to one of the following:
- there were more than 6 nominations, so I only chose the nominations that came up at least twice
- I didn't see it (please tell me if you think this is the case.. although frankly, my first instinct is to say "too effin' bad")
- it was disqualified for not being specific enough, or you put it in the wrong category, etc.
- some other arbitrary happenstance...
