I'd completely revise all of UK's foolish health and safety and PC laws, I'd also make sure DrDevience and her family had their own castle somewhere. I'm sure I'd put more money in to the war in Iraq too.

About the Fanpoppies... I think Michael Scott said it best on The Office (episode 2x01, The Dundies): "Everybody looks forward to it, because, you know, a lot of the people here don't get trophies very often." Props are nice tokens of appreciation, but this is much bigger.
My favorite thing about Fanpop is the people. I've never been part of a website like this - everyone is so friendly and helpful. Imagine joining an advice group and getting help with a problem on MySpace - you might meet a few pedophiles, but you're not going to get the help you need, and the people aren't going to be nearly this nice.

I love all the creativity that is put into Fanpop, plus I can watch all the free episodes of TV I want. ;)
The Fanpoppies? Well, one of my FAVORITE things is that I was nominated for one. xD But I also think some of the most creative picks have been made on that spot, and I cannot wait for awards night!
what inspires you to create your picks?
Most of my questions just come to me. It's really annoying sometimes, actually, because I'll think of a really good question right before I go to sleep and then I won't be able to sleep unless I make the pick.

charmed or buffy and the spin off ones like phoebe and cole and bangel vs spuffy! more recently its been the office and jam just because i started watching the US version a few weeks ago to see all the hype and i caught the fever!

oooooo i'd build a palace, i'd banish talentless people who try to become famous like jade goody, i'd make sure everyone played sports any sport just for an hour a day because even though not everyone likes it does help, also i'm getting fed up with people criticizing me because i like playing and participating in sports, so maybe if everyone in the world found a sport they liked then maybe i wouldn't get so much grief! ok again i'm rambling i would do a lot of things ooooooo kill the blumin' trolls as well! my minds got blank now!

that even though i'm not exactly intelligent most of the time you can be very opinionated and sound smart and i feel like i'm part of a smart society which makes me feel better about myself! also everyone is so helpful and welcoming and any criticism is usually constructive, you do get you random lazybodys who copy your picks and stuff and they do anger me but other than that mostly everything is great!
where do you get all your ideas for your picks?
its kind of sad i'll just be lying i bed trying to get to sleep and ill be like hmmm i wonder what everyones favorite episode of season 3 of charmed is , and it just leads on, or i'll be watching an episode of buffy and ill just think hmm i wonder if anyone else prefers cordy over willow! its usually just what i'm thinking at the time and i'll try and remember it for the next time i'm online!

To be honest I was surprised I was nominated for this; my picks are nowhere near as good as those created by the other nominees. I don't spend hours thinking up of picks, they just come to me every now and again.

Bliss, god willing. I wouldn't dream of going with anyone else. I am so over johnminh. I took down half my surveillance cameras from around his house and I barely ever even steal his stuff when he's gone anymore. I have found the perfect date and she is not a man. And for that I am very glad. ;o)
what spot do you spend the most time in?
Debate, probably. Also, CSI. If I could debate CSI I would so do that. And I would win.
what would you do if you were voted ruler of the world?
I would use peach cobbler to solve world hunger and give bubbles to all the bickering country leaders (who will act like governors under my reign) to solve civil war. Because in truth, bubbles makes everyone happier, and happy people just don't go to war.

It's fun to see what people think of as quality work. Like the soapboxes, and the fan art, and the picks-- they're all so cool and impressive and (sometimes) hilarious. It's great to gather what the people think of as the best and the brightest in one place. But the truth is, that these aren't necessarily the "best and the brightest" only the most popular for the moment. There's oodles of great content out there and great fans that don't get recognized because they aren't as popular. In smaller spots, there are equally exquisite fan art etc. And they deserve credit too!

my favourite thing about Fanpop is all the awesome discussions that go on in the Debate spot (and others). i spend a lot of my time doing assignments that seem totally irrelevant to real life, so being able to come here and talk about issues that really matter (even if it's just for fun) is really refreshing.

since i love to give my opinion and my thoughts, i try to spend most of my time at the debate spot. i feel like cinders really takes good care of it and i can post my opinion without a billion people shoving their face down my throat, like they do at school. i find new ways to impress my teachers at debate on the debate spot. in fact, the debate spot taught me how to voice my opinion in politics.
whats your favorite thing about fanpop or the fanpoppies?
i loved fanpop at first because of all the great content. and i still love it for that and the community is great and makes me laugh my head off. it's not like other websites where you just comments about something. on fanpop we have little one on one "conversations" or "series of comments". and even though i can feel like a loser at tennis tournaments i know that i've just scored a new medal/prop.
what would you do if you were voted ruler of the world?
i would get rid of all the israel/palestine and U.S.A problems. then i'd spoil myself to death with chocolate and a SHOPPING SPREE!!!!

I spend most of my time behind the scenes so I don't get into the individual spots as much as I used to. I enjoy the Lost, Heroes and Office spots.

I'd avoid starting immoral and wars. I'd reduce military budget and start pouring money into education, health care and public infrastructure (Papa is a bleeding heart...). I'd reign in corporate power. I'd muzzle Anne Coulter and make sure everyone was decent to each other and give everyone a cookie (cuz everyone should love cookies).

I could go in my tuxedo (although honestly it might not fit anymore), as I enjoy my mastery of the bow-tie challenge. But everyone knows my face from my profile pictures, so it would be more fun to do something unexpected.
On that note, and to elaborate on what I wrote in this link, I think it would be perfect to show up to the Fanpoppy Awards ceremony as a big cuddly wolf furry. Everyone else would wonder "Who the hell is that freak?" during the ceremonies and how marvelous would it be to then sashay up to accept an award with a long, rambling acceptance speech

Music Videos, hands down. I'd like to say that I spend a lot of time in one of the bazillion spots that I've created, but no. Cressida is great in many ways, but creating that spot was sheer genius...evil genius, that is. I spend so much time in the MV spot that I have little time to spend elsewhere, like finishing more of the articles that I start.
what would you do if you were voted ruler of the world?
Establish a representative world parliament, along with laws that would require economic alliance between wealthy and impoverished countries, as well as laws to collect 1% of each nation's GDP for education and humanitarian aid. I'd entrench these things with extremely byzantine rules for changing such laws, then I'd go into hiding, doing my level best to avoid any more power-tripping (as if that wasn't enough).
whats your favorite thing about fanpop or the fanpoppies?
Fanpop: I think that the design of Fanpop is brilliant for its potential for both organization and complete randomness. On the surface, that may not make sense. The original concept of the site - and I still think it's a good one - was to enable people to collect and categorize all the best content on a particular topic from the web. As long as people search to not duplicate postings and thoroughly tag their submissions so that such searches will work, the site is incredible for its collection of unique, quality content. At the same time, though, it's tremendously easy for someone like me to get distracted by spots concerning topics one would never have found any other way. That's just spots - the random image and video features are indispensable to me. Fanpop: the potential for complete randomness, yet well-organized. Brilliant!
Fanpoppies: I'm looking forward to camels, plushies, hoverboots, and a somewhat harried look on johnminh's face, myself.
No, seriously: I love what the Fanpoppies represent. That is to say, despite the original intent of the site to gather fans of external topics, a hardcore, tightly knit group of users has fallen for the site interface itself and created an extremely insular but warm and funny social network on Fanpop. I became aware of this growing network about a year ago, and it was the primary reason I made the Fanpop Users spot, so that there'd be a dedicated place for the people who were fans of the system that I saw all over the site to gather and interact. Of course, it wasn't necessary, because since then many such self-referential spots have popped up that have little or no meaning to anyone outside of the small group of dedicated (or crazy-addict) Fanpop users: the picks spot, the VRSOF, the ATSOF...and this, the Fanpoppy Awards spot. This may seem completely baffling to someone new to Fanpop as well as 99% of the site's users, but the camaraderie of this group really brightens my experience of the site. Before then, I was just an isolated Fanpop addict...now I feel like I have a support group.
what gave you the idea to write the fanpop users guide?
With the recent launch of the picks and image gallery features, the site was getting a huge influx of new users last spring. I'm obnoxiously helpful, but even I was getting tired of constantly answering the same questions over and over in the various forums. The soapbox article feature was pretty well established after six months or so, and I figured that if I could write a comprehensive guide on how basic stuff on the site worked, it might forestall some of those questions.

Previous to this I would say "The Office" Spot, but more recently it has been the Amy Adams spot.
what would you do if you were voted ruler of the world?
I would stop the war on terrorism and institute a state of world peace. I would send troops over to impoverished countries to give them supplies and food. I would make it my goal to make sure that there was no child that had to go hungry or die of medically treatable disease just because there is no one who had the knowledge to treat them.

Well my recent favorite thing about Fanpop is the Fanpoppies. Really though I would have to say the people. You guys have all been so nice and supportive to me through all of the things I have been going through. I appreciate that more than you could ever know. I love every single one of you guys. Well, my highest medal ranking is Sweden... but I flit around a lot to numerous Spots. Castles is a favorite of mine, along with Vampires, Travel, and Scandinavia... and lately I've been hangin' out quite a bit at Kilt and Renaissance Faires because the RenFest season is upon us. HUZZAH!

whats your favorite thing about fanpop or the fanpoppies?
Well, there are a lot of places that I can pimp links to my articles, and a lot of places I can sell my images, and there is YouTube if I'm in the mood to watch videos... but Fanpop has all of them in one place along with the bonus of Picks.
Hopefully they will get big enough to start sharin' the wealth a bit so I can justify my time here... I'm trying like hell to get them to that point ;>

I tend not to plan my outfits far in advance, so it's hard to say exactly what it will be. Something designed to accentuate my new blonde hair.

I currently work at a bookstore occasionally frequented by celebrities so perhaps I'll ask James Franco when he next purchases a poetry book. Him or the homeless guy who plays the piccolo outside.
What spot do you spend the most time in?
A difficult question: I notice that I spend the most time in spots part of the Books & Literature channel, ones like "Nancy Drew", "Fairy Tales & Fables" and "Libraries". I also like nostalgic spots like "Old School Nickelodeon".
What would you do if you were voted ruler of the world?
Pass it over to my someone more qualified and anonymously travel the world instead.
Whats your favorite thing about fanpop or the fanpoppies?
Picks and soapboxes. Woo boy. I think I created a hundred of those the first day picks were revealed. And soapboxes i have really written my creative juices: I feel like I'm writing magazine articles when writing them and adding pictures. Really, all of the features that allow fanpoppers to create their own content are my favorite -- although I have yet to submit a personally-made video.
What inspired you to write "what did you say?"
I'm so glad people have really responded to that article. I had been submitting a series of articles recommending books and the theme of that particular soapbox was books writing about other books/the censorship of books. But while researching what books have been censored or in danger of censorship, I was shocked to see that books like "Where's Waldo" and "The Giver" by Lois Lowry were on that list. And so I had to share that info with my fellow book lovers.

well the buffy smack downs simply started with me wondering weather evil willow or good willow would win in a fight and then i sorted kept thinking of more and more fights and now it's got round and fans have even requested competitors!
the inspiration for the real scoop was just the brilliant funny interviews you get in trashy magazines which of corse the fans that i interviewed made it even funnier

"Razl Dazl" is the result of a drunken night of Fanpopping and a little idea implanted in my head by the nefariously brilliant Edennirvana. It is dedicated to her, actually. I still can't believe people like it. I made it as a joke.

About the Fanpoppies... I think Michael Scott said it best on The Office (episode 2x01, The Dundies): "Everybody looks forward to it, because, you know, a lot of the people here don't get trophies very often." Props are nice tokens of appreciation, but this is much bigger.
My favorite thing about Fanpop is the people. I've never been part of a website like this - everyone is so friendly and helpful. Imagine joining an advice group and getting help with a problem on MySpace - you might meet a few pedophiles, but you're not going to get the help you need, and the people aren't going to be nearly this nice.

It's fun to see what people think of as quality work. Like the soapboxes, and the fan art, and the picks-- they're all so cool and impressive and (sometimes) hilarious. It's great to gather what the people think of as the best and the brightest in one place. But the truth is, that these aren't necessarily the "best and the brightest" only the most popular for the moment. There's oodles of great content out there and great fans that don't get recognized because they aren't as popular. In smaller spots, there are equally exquisite fan art etc. And they deserve credit too!

since i love to give my opinion and my thoughts, i try to spend most of my time at the debate spot. i feel like cinders really takes good care of it and i can post my opinion without a billion people shoving their face down my throat, like they do at school. i find new ways to impress my teachers at debate on the debate spot. in fact, the debate spot taught me how to voice my opinion in politics.

i loved fanpop at first because of all the great content. and i still love it for that and the community is great and makes me laugh my head off. it's not like other websites where you just comments about something. on fanpop we have little one on one "conversations" or "series of comments". and even though i can feel like a loser at tennis tournaments i know that i've just scored a new medal/prop.

On that note, and to elaborate on what I wrote in this link, I think it would be perfect to show up to the Fanpoppy Awards ceremony as a big cuddly wolf furry. Everyone else would wonder "Who the hell is that freak?" during the ceremonies and how marvelous would it be to then sashay up to accept an award with a long, rambling acceptance speech
what spot do you spend the most time in?
Music Videos, hands down. I'd like to say that I spend a lot of time in one of the bazillion spots that I've created, but no. Cressida is great in many ways, but creating that spot was sheer genius...evil genius, that is. I spend so much time in the MV spot that I have little time to spend elsewhere, like finishing more of the articles that I start.
what would you do if you were voted ruler of the world?
Establish a representative world parliament, along with laws that would require economic alliance between wealthy and impoverished countries, as well as laws to collect 1% of each nation's GDP for education and humanitarian aid. I'd entrench these things with extremely byzantine rules for changing such laws, then I'd go into hiding, doing my level best to avoid any more power-tripping (as if that wasn't enough).
whats your favorite thing about fanpop or the fanpoppies?
Fanpop: I think that the design of Fanpop is brilliant for its potential for both organization and complete randomness. On the surface, that may not make sense. The original concept of the site - and I still think it's a good one - was to enable people to collect and categorize all the best content on a particular topic from the web. As long as people search to not duplicate postings and thoroughly tag their submissions so that such searches will work, the site is incredible for its collection of unique, quality content. At the same time, though, it's tremendously easy for someone like me to get distracted by spots concerning topics one would never have found any other way. That's just spots - the random image and video features are indispensable to me. Fanpop: the potential for complete randomness, yet well-organized. Brilliant!

No, seriously: I love what the Fanpoppies represent. That is to say, despite the original intent of the site to gather fans of external topics, a hardcore, tightly knit group of users has fallen for the site interface itself and created an extremely insular but warm and funny social network on Fanpop. I became aware of this growing network about a year ago, and it was the primary reason I made the Fanpop Users spot, so that there'd be a dedicated place for the people who were fans of the system that I saw all over the site to gather and interact. Of course, it wasn't necessary, because since then many such self-referential spots have popped up that have little or no meaning to anyone outside of the small group of dedicated (or crazy-addict) Fanpop users: the picks spot, the VRSOF, the ATSOF...and this, the Fanpoppy Awards spot. This may seem completely baffling to someone new to Fanpop as well as 99% of the site's users, but the camaraderie of this group really brightens my experience of the site. Before then, I was just an isolated Fanpop addict...now I feel like I have a support group.
what gave you the idea to write the fanpop users guide?
With the recent launch of the picks and image gallery features, the site was getting a huge influx of new users last spring. I'm obnoxiously helpful, but even I was getting tired of constantly answering the same questions over and over in the various forums. The soapbox article feature was pretty well established after six months or so, and I figured that if I could write a comprehensive guide on how basic stuff on the site worked, it might forestall some of those questions.

what would you do if you were voted ruler of the world?
I would stop the war on terrorism and institute a state of world peace. I would send troops over to impoverished countries to give them supplies and food. I would make it my goal to make sure that there was no child that had to go hungry or die of medically treatable disease just because there is no one who had the knowledge to treat them.

Well my recent favorite thing about Fanpop is the Fanpoppies. Really though I would have to say the people. You guys have all been so nice and supportive to me through all of the things I have been going through. I appreciate that more than you could ever know. I love every single one of you guys. Well, my highest medal ranking is Sweden... but I flit around a lot to numerous Spots. Castles is a favorite of mine, along with Vampires, Travel, and Scandinavia... and lately I've been hangin' out quite a bit at Kilt and Renaissance Faires because the RenFest season is upon us. HUZZAH!

Well, there are a lot of places that I can pimp links to my articles, and a lot of places I can sell my images, and there is YouTube if I'm in the mood to watch videos... but Fanpop has all of them in one place along with the bonus of Picks.
Hopefully they will get big enough to start sharin' the wealth a bit so I can justify my time here... I'm trying like hell to get them to that point ;>

I tend not to plan my outfits far in advance, so it's hard to say exactly what it will be. Something designed to accentuate my new blonde hair.

I currently work at a bookstore occasionally frequented by celebrities so perhaps I'll ask James Franco when he next purchases a poetry book. Him or the homeless guy who plays the piccolo outside.

A difficult question: I notice that I spend the most time in spots part of the Books & Literature channel, ones like "Nancy Drew", "Fairy Tales & Fables" and "Libraries". I also like nostalgic spots like "Old School Nickelodeon".

Pass it over to my someone more qualified and anonymously travel the world instead.

Picks and soapboxes. Woo boy. I think I created a hundred of those the first day picks were revealed. And soapboxes i have really written my creative juices: I feel like I'm writing magazine articles when writing them and adding pictures. Really, all of the features that allow fanpoppers to create their own content are my favorite -- although I have yet to submit a personally-made video.
What inspired you to write "what did you say?"
I'm so glad people have really responded to that article. I had been submitting a series of articles recommending books and the theme of that particular soapbox was books writing about other books/the censorship of books. But while researching what books have been censored or in danger of censorship, I was shocked to see that books like "Where's Waldo" and "The Giver" by Lois Lowry were on that list. And so I had to share that info with my fellow book lovers.

I love posting in the Asian American spot. Funny how APIs (Asian Pacific Islanders) don't get much representation in mainstream media unless we're paying a stereotypical role. well the buffy smack downs simply started with me wondering weather evil willow or good willow would win in a fight and then i sorted kept thinking of more and more fights and now it's got round and fans have even requested competitors!
the inspiration for the real scoop was just the brilliant funny interviews you get in trashy magazines which of corse the fans that i interviewed made it even funnier
