THE FOUNTAIN OF THE EARTH
“One of the huge wolf-dogs saw me and came snarling and bristling up the jagged lava slope. As I tried to scramble backwards, he crouched to leap, jaws snapping and glistening with gore. I pointed my pistol and pulled the trigger. The hammer fell on an empty chamber.”
Born into a post-apocalyptic world where civilization has devolved into roving bands of savage and primal killers, fifteen-year-old Terra Vonn has but one chance to survive. Alone, she must endure a journey through a brutal and chaotic land to reach the almost mythical clan of Aurora and safety. As Terra travels through a desolate landscape of volcanic destruction, she encounters a sick and starving survivor. Together the two girls bond into a family, relying on each other as they fight their way through the devastation and loss.
They find that they are not the only ones traveling to Aurora. A bloodthirsty horde of killers is also on the way, determined to destroy the last vestiges of civilization.
The Fountain of the Earth is ultimately a story of friendship, love, and the triumph of the human spirit.
