Shadow and his wife, Julie-Su, were standing in the ARK.
Or at least Shadow was, Julie-Su was sitting in an armchair, holding one tiny hedgehog, Anna, to her, and another, Axubus, sat on the floor, shaking a small metal device that made loud clanking noises in his little fist.
Sonic was smiling at the happy scene, leaning in the doorway, with his girlfriend, Maria (recarnated in hedgehog form), and Knuckles was sitting with Rouge, his wife, also watching Julie-Su with the two babies.
Shadow leant in the corner, one more child next to him. His oldest son, Anubis.
Anubis resembled his father compleatly, right down to facial expresion and posture. The only obvious difference was that he had teal markings, rather than Shadow's trademarked crimson.
This reminded the hybrid hedgehog of Mephiles, who had since become somewhat of a Brother to Shadow. "Uncle Mephiles" loved staring at the young hedgehog who shared some of his colour sceme.
Mephiles had taken Blaze as a wife, and had two children, twins, on the way.
Sonic looked at Shadow, standing there, arms crossed, leaning in the furthest corner, and at Anubis, who sat next to his father, also, arms crossed.
Sonic grinned.
"Well, just like your father, Anu, all doom and gloom?"
Shadow looked down at the child Sonic had just addressed. He leant over, and picked his son up by the leg.
Anubis, now hanging upside down, stared back into his fatherseyes in a bored expression, as if to say; Yeah, whatever. Am I supposed to care?
Shadow's crimson eyes bored into Anubis' navy, almost in wonder.
"Awww... Come on, Shadow. Stop torturing the poor kid." Sonic groaned.
Shadow flipped his son and placed him back on the cold glass floor of the ARK.
Anubis then stared at Sonic reapproacfully, and let out a sigh that nearly said; Get out of here. I don't like you.
"I agree with you, son." Shadow muttered under his breath.
Why did Sonic take his "sister" as a girlfriend?
Why did they get engaged?
Why did Sonic have to be his brother-in-law-to-be?
Sonic was clearly not happy about his in-laws-to-be. But it wasn't Shadow he was concerned about. It was Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. He was not really concerned about being Shadow's brother; in fact, he couldn't care less.
But still, the only reason Sonic was in the ARK was because Shadow had invited Maria around, and Sonic had dicided to tag along.
Shadow frowned.
