Darry pov: I was walking back home from the rumble. I had seen Dally and Pony leave, I'm guessing to go tell Johnny the news. I got to our house to see the door open. "no surprise", I mumbled. I walked In and shut the door. "Who's here?", I yelled out. "Steve, Soda, Alisa & twobit", I hear. "Y'all come in here!", I yell, it made me feel a little jealous that Alisa was there with all those boys. "Hey, darry", I hear three times. "Hi, Alisa", I say resting my hand on her back. "Hey, darry", she grinned. I smiled knowing she was ok with it. "Wanna go for a walk?", I ask her. "Sure", she says and slips her arm into mine. We walk outside and and head for the lot. "Darry, ya know yer cute, don't chya?", she says looking up at me. "What?! Nah! Well, yeah, but-", I blush. She giggles and we walk in silence for a few minutes. "I hope pony is ok", I say. "I think he'll be alright, don't worry", she kisses my cheek. "I sure hope so" We walk back towards the house and she stops me on the porch. "Darry, ya know we've been friends since about birth?", she says. "Well, yeah", I say. "You know how we went through everythin' together?", she asks. "Of course", I say nodding. "Then, I wanted to tell you", she pauses. She goes to her tiptoes and gently presses her lips to mine. I pull her cheeks closer, begging for more of her. She smiles while we kiss and I do, too. She gingerly pulls away, "happy 24 hour anniversary, baby". "You, too, sweets". And I pull her lips to mine again.
“Hmmm… Merry Christmas.” You mumble.
“I got all of Danny’s presents under the tree.” He says, snuggling down into the bed a little more.
“Did you remember the football?” You ask.
“Yeah, I remembered that. It’s the best gift.” He smiles. “He’ll love it.”
“Yeah…” You mumble.
“Before you fall back asleep, I have a present for you.” He whispers to you.
“Mhmm?”
He leans over you, showing you a black box.
You open it, to see the most beautiful necklace.
“It was my mom’s.” he mutters. “I thought you’d like it.”
“I love it.”
“Merry Christmas, honey.”
