You ran away from your house crying after your mom had gotten drunk and started blaming you for your fathers' death. You and your mom were really close before your dad died in a plane crash on the way to a job interview. You ran until you were outta breath and sat up against a tree. It was a starry night and the stars glowed. You put your head on your hands and continued to cry. Suddenly you heard light footsteps on the grass and lifted your head fast. From the brightness of the stars, you saw your boyfriend Sodapop. You guys have been dating for about 3 months now. You looked at his face and his expression was upsetting.

"Hey babe what's wrong?" he asked.

"I- I'm fine..." you said sniffling and wiping your eyes. "It's just my mom again. You know she's been drinking since my dad died."

You could tell that Soda felt almost as much pain as you were feeling. He really seemed to care. As he sat down next to you, he had an awkward smile on his face and put his arm around you. You buried your head into Soda'ss chest and started sobbing again.

"Hey, it's going to be ok. I'm here. Please stop crying." he said softly. He sounded like he was about to start crying. You didn't like when Soda was upset so you wiped your eyes again and turned towards Sodapop.

"Thank you," you said with a soft smile on your face.

"Anything for you babe," he said with a smile on his face. He kissed you on your lips and you kissed back. Fireworks exploded in your stomach. You always felt like that whenever Soda kissed you. He pulled away from the kiss and smiled at you.

"I always feel safe with you Soda," you said while giving him a big hug.

"I always feel better when I'm with you. I love you (y/n)," he said with a soft and cute smile on his face.

"I love you too," you said back to him as he kissed you on the forehead and went back to hugging you while looking at the stars.
