CHAPTER 3
The next two week were pretty good I was healing very fast and before I knew it I was up and cleaning house and working in the yard.Darry was superised at how quick I leared everything.I would whatch them do something once and then the next day they would catch me doing the samething.
While my dad and brother were at work we snuck over there and got my stuff.My clothes,my makeup,my shower stuff,my laptop amd my books.We went home and set up the guest room so I could have my own room and get off the couch.
The room looked real good like a girls room,It was also very comferable.I set it up just right.When we were done with it we set back and looked at it,it did look nice.
That night I was on my laptop looking up stuff when my computer dinged,I looked down and I saw that a friend was online ready to chat.I didnt know this person very well so I started off with HI.We chated online for hours we had a lot in commened.We liked the same music and movies.We talked to about midnight before we had to get off.
I thought it was so cool that poeple from all over the world can have the samethings in commen with you.I put my laptop up and started to get ready for bed.I layed down in my new room knowing I was home and loved.
I woke up the next morning feeling good about everything,good enough to go for a jog around the block.I got dressed and poked my head in the livingroom to tell Ponyboy he smiled and told me to have fun.I was out the door at a dead run and didnt slow down until I got a block away.
I was jogging back to the house when a car horn made me jump.I turned around to faced my fathers car,I wanted to die.He grabbed my arm through the window and started to drive still holding my arm.I screamed for him to let go of me but he only held on tighter.My wrist started to hurt realy bad,I begane to wonder if he planned to take me home this way,But then he let go so fast I fell on some broken glass.He pulled up beside me and said."Tell your boys that if they dont fight in the next rumble it will be you blood they will be after."Then he sped off leave me there aching and then I blacked out.
I woke up at the house not knowing how I got there but I was there and safe.I sat up and looked at them.They looked back with wondering eyes"Cherry when we came home and Ponyboy said that you left hours ago we got realy worrie and I took the truck out and luckly found you.Now what happened to you?"Darry asked me.
I sighed and told them about my dad and his threat.They looked at me for a moment,then at eachother."Well looks like we have a rumble to get ready for."Darry said,they all agreed except Ponyboy he just looked at me and shook his head.He went to his room and slammed the door.
I got up and went to my room I was sore and my wrist was swollen and red.I layed down on my bed and begaine to cry for my boys if it wasnt for me they would be free and safe.I cried myself to sleep that night thinking that maybe I should leave to make things better.
The next morning I woke up before they did and tried to be quiet and sneek out but Darry saw me and asked me what the hell was I doing."I was thinking that maybe if I left then you guys wanted have to fight."I said as honesty as I could.
Darry sat up in his bed and looked at me."If you leave then we still have to fight,if you stay will still have to fight theres no winning this one, you need to be here so you can be safe.We will fight and free you from your father and then that will be it."Darry said smiling at me
"Ponyboy doesnt want me here."I said and looked down.
Darry sighed he knew I was telling the truth.He got up and rubbed my hair and begane to fix breackfast.Ponyboy came in the kitcken a few mintues later looked at me than back to the livingroom.Darry and I looked at eachother and he went back to his cooking.
I went into the livingroom and sat down beside Ponyboy and looked at him."Ponyboy why do you act like you hate me?"I asked
"Because I do."He anwered me not even looking at me
"Why?"I asked him
"Because everytime you come around somone gets killed."He said smiling at me.
I got up and went to my room I didnt come out all day.
It was supper time and there a knock on my door it opened and Ponyboy came in he was cring.He sat down on my bed and looked at me"Cherry I'm sorry Ive been a dick and I wish I could take it back but I cant but I know that I can start over by telling you that I love you!"he said
