I only got a few comments on my first four chapters, so i promise, im only doing one chapter now. this chapter might be a litle slow because the greeks have to get to know the romans and stuff like thatIm really not into sappy romance stuff, so whoever reads this, ill just try to... i dont know, make it better. all rights to Rick Riordan, all that.
Chapter 5
Annabeth's POV
Annabeth froze. Percy didn't remember her. What did she do?
One of the girls next to Percy seemed to notice her expression. She smiled kindly. "Hello, Greeks. I've heard a lot about you from Percy. My name is Hazel Levesque, daughter of Pluto, or, um Hades to you. And this is-" she pointed to a boy with a baby-like face standing next to her "Frank Zang, son of Mars or Ares."
Clarisse snorted. "Son of Ares. Yeah right. Look at that baby face. Bet he's useless."
Frank scowled. "My dad's Mars, not Ares. And you want to see how useless I am? Bet you couldn't take on a full-grown elephant.'
Clarisse walked right up to Frank. "What?"
Percy sighed. "Please don't fight." Then, unexpectedly, he turned to Annabeth. "Hey. Missed you, Wise Girl."
Annabeth marched over to him and punched him in the gut. "Now you act like I exist, Seaweed Brain? Where's the nice boyfriend-girlfriend greeting, the romantic kiss? I thought that you'd..." she trailed off.
Percy stared at her in confusion, then his expression changed to horror. "You... you thought I'd forgotten you? My gods, Annabeth, I'm sorry! I never meant for it to come across like that. And if you want a kiss... well, um, okay."
Annabeth smiled. "Sure." She leaned closer to him, and he smiled, and-
"Hey! SEAWEED BRAIN!"
Thalia stalked over to Percy and hugged him so hard, he made a squeaky noise, like a mouse getting stepped on. With a loud cheer, the rest of Camp Half-Blood ran at Percy.
"We missed you!" shouted Clarisse, right before punching him in the stomach.
"Percy! Good to see you!" yelled Connor and Travis Stoll together.
"Nice tattoo, man!"
"Perrrrrrrrrcy!"
"How's it going? It's been eight months?"
Percy looked like he was having the time of his life, and so did Jason. Most of Camp Jupiter had lifted him on their shoulders, shouting, "Jason! Jason!" Only Octavian was hanging back.
"Praetors!" he shouted, looking harassed. "We are getting nothing done!" A group of cheering Romans promptly ran him over.
"BE QUIET" yelled Percy. Everyone stopped cheering and stared at him."I believe that the role of praetor now belongs to Jason, since he's actually Roman."
Jason looked shocked. "What? No, you're praetor. I've been away for so long, I would never-"
"But I don't want to be!" whined Percy. "I don't even have the Mark of Achilles anymore! Why should I be the leader?"
Annabeth froze. She stalked up to Percy, glaring at him. "Did I just hear what I think I heard?"
Percy turned red. "I... um..."
She punched him as hard as she could. "PERCY JACKSON! Answer the question. Do you or do you not have the Mark of Achilles?"
A lot of kids, both Greeks and Romans, snickered. Percy spluttered, "Um, ah, I kind of needed to cross into Roman territory because of the gorgons, and the hippie lady said it would wash away because the Little Tiber is Roman, and the Mark of Achilles is Greek, so I carried the hippie lady across the river, and she turned into Juno, and Frank and Hazel held off the gorgons, and they got Frank, so I controlled the river, and, uh-"
"What? Hippie lady? Gorgons? Juno? What are you talking about?"
Leo made a smashing noise. "He's done for."
Piper slapped him. "Shut up, Leo Valdez!"
Annabeth glared at Percy. "Let me get this straight. You. Do. Not. Have. The. Mark. Of. Achilles. You. Are. So. Dead."
Percy groaned. "Uh-oh."
