The Vampire Diaries TV Show Question

Need some answers! For realzzz.

So, this might have been asked before. I don't know.
But this has been makin' my mind go crazy.
So I assumed Katherine turned Stefan and Damon.
But obviously she didn't.
Because when she went into the tomb or what they thought she went into the tomb, both Stefan and Damon were human.
So my question is who the heck turned them?

Unless the writers just messed up and didn't think about it that way, or I didn't catch on to something.
Any help you can give me, I don't care if it spoilers, because I wanna know. ha.

Technically she did turn them. They both had her blood in them when they died. So even though she didn't kill them herself I still would say that she was the one who turned them.

Well, in ep 4, Damon said "Stefan and Damon had someone they loved very much in that church. And when they went to rescue them, they were shot. Murdered in cold blood." So, Damon and Stefan thought Katherine was in the church, and were shot while they tried to save her.

well,if show follows the book at least a little bit(which it doesn't -.-),Stefan and Damon killed each other,but again,it was different happening in the books,but Damon was angry in the show on Stefan,they might have killed each other with Katherine's blood still in them,idk,srsly,we can just guess :/
