“Nice dress” a familiar, male and British voice whispered in Caroline’s ear. She startled, but recovered quickly. She tried to spot Damon and Elena, but since they were nowhere to be found, she took a deep breath and turned around.
“What do you want?” she asked sharp.
“Well, first I would like to know why you’re not wearing the dress I sent you” Klaus said.
“You sent? Wait, you gave me the dress with the note?” Caroline asked surprised.
“Of course” Klaus answered. “You didn’t think Tyler has that good of taste, did you?”
“Oh, well, ehm, I couldn’t wear it anyway”...

Elena was in her bedroom, finishing her makeup, when the doorbell rang. Expecting it was Damon she kind of jumped off the stairs and hastily opened the door. Her enthusiasm dropped in her shoes when she looked in Stefan’s face.
“Oh” she said impassively. “It’s you”
“It’s me” Stefan smiled. “Not happy to see me?”
Elena shrugged.
“Damon send me” Stefan said and Elena’s face cleared up. “He asked me to escort you to the party, so you can meet him there. He had to do something and wasn’t going to make it on time”

Morning came and Jeremy lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He hadn’t slept at all. Not that he hadn’t tried, but every time he just closed his eyes something happened. His bed would start shaking, the windows collapsed and let’s not forget the strange noises he had heard. He knew what it was, but that didn’t make it any less scary. At some point Anna and Vicky had to understand he had to sleep. He couldn’t stay awake forever. Though the girls did a very good attempt to postpone bedtime as long as possible. He got out of bed and went downstairs, finding Alaric all dressed up,...

This is more to do with the T.V show than the books. This is not carried on from anything, it's just a made up thing. So Stefan has left Mystic Falls without saying good bye to Elena. Elena is still upset a month after Stefan has left. Elena knows that Damon knew Stefan was leaving and is angry at him for not forcing him to stay. She has seen Damon around but has not spoken to him preoperly until this point.
I know this thing I've written is a bit sexy and steamy, but I wanted to give the Vampire Diaries readers and viewers the thing that I'm sure they've been looking for. Enjoy :D
