At school Zoey always dreams of talking to Mike. He is always with Anna Maria, the head cheerleader/Mikes girlfriend. Zoey and Mike live right next door to each other, but they never talk to each other ever.
During lunch one day, Mike got sick and tired of Anna Maria and they got in a big fight. Anna Maria stayed with the cheerleaders while Mike sat alone at an empty table. Zoey felt bad for him and came to sit by him.
Zoey sat down and asked him what was wrong. Mike never answered. Anna Maria walks up and says,"Don't worry, he's all your's. I'm done with him."
Zoey got so mad she just about said something to her, but didn't have enough guts to. Instead she was wondering what she was talking about. Who would ever dump Mike? He is so perfect! He had a nice smile, his laugh made everyone smile, and was the smartest person anyone has ever seen in their school.
"Why are you dumping him?" Zoey said." He's the most perfect guy in this school!." Mike looked up and smiled at her.
"Look doll," Anna Maria said,"think of this, he doesn't play any sports, and his deepest secret that me and the rest of the cheerleaders found out the hard way."
"What secret?"
"Oh, you didn't hear? Its the thing everybody's talking about, well other than my gorgeous looks."
"Your looks aren't that good now just tell me!" Zoey yelled. Everyone in the cafeteria looked up to see what was going on. Nobody has ever yelled at Anna Maria like that before, so they wanted to see what was going on.
"Oh so you wanna go barbie? Cause it's on!" said Anne Maria running at Zoey, but Zoey just simply stood there.
Anna Maria punched her in the face. Zoey just stood there with a bloody nose.
"Aren't you going to do something?" Anna Maria asked.
"No but I am."Mike stood up and said.
"Oh please, what are you going to do? Bore me to death with math problems? Ha! My goldfish could beat you in a fight! Your weak! And its not going to help with your MPD. Your just a weak helpless little kid!" Anna Maria yelled.
Mike got mad and punched her in the face."That is what you get for hurting my friend. Have a bad day."He said to Anna Maria. He turned around and looked at Zoey. "You ok?" He said to Zoey.
"Ya, I'm fine. You stood up for me. Why?" Zoey asked.
"Because you did something amazing." he said. "You came over when nobody did. And your fine that I have MPD?"
"Are you kidding! I love odd balls. More personalities means more Mike to like." Zoey said.
"Cool let's get you to the nurse. It looks like she hit pretty good. We can talk on the way there. Sound good?" Mike asked.
"Ya. Lets go. I don't want her to come and hit me again." Zoey answered.
Later that day, Zoey and Mike walked home together and right before either of them got in there yards, Mike stopped. Then he turned to Zoey and asked,"Zoey, I love you. I always have and always will so, will you go out with me?"
"Of course I would! Why wouldn't I?" Zoey asked.
"I don't know. Its just that, well most people don't take the whole multiple personality thing very well." Mike answered.
"I can get that sort of thing its just that not very many people talk to me. That's why people call me the loner."
"I have never really talked to people before Anna Maria, who made me talk."
"Really? I never knew that. I'm sorry."
"So how 'bout us meeting later and we can talk a bit more?" Mike asked.
"Sure! I would love that. How about 7?" Zoey said.
"Sounds good. See you then." Mike replied.
