*A Vampire*
I shook my head slowly, watching his eyes dart between mine. He let go of my face and put his hands in his lap, his expression pleading. I looked at his eyes, his noes, his perfect mouth, his jaw, his neck, his everything searching for an answer. He obviously wasn't human, because no one in the entire world can run like that. But a vampire? Are they even real? The only thing I knew about vampires was they are not living, but they are not dead. They are cold. No, Gregory wasn't cold when he was touching my face... Or was he? And they can run very fast. Yes, that he could do. Vampires drink blood... I prayed this wasn't a fact. But they drink blood because they have none themselves right?
I looked at his neck, at the huge vein that throbs on most people, but on Gregory it remained still. Ok, no pulse means no blood. I needed another test.
I raised my hand slowly to his, which was resting on his lap. I touched his skin.
Ice. Cold as ice and smooth, like a finely polished rock. A very handsome rock.
So he had no pulse, smooth and cold skin, and super human running abilities.
Gregory sat patiently while these thoughts smashed around in my head, his eyes never leaving mine, my hand never leaving his. After a while I realized I needed another test. I had to start asking questions.
"Ok," I managed finally "There is one question I think I'm entitled to ask you, considering you just dropped a bomb on me." I paused to see his reaction, figuring he'd be offended, but he just smiled and nodded. I continued.
"o.k. Well the only thing you don't account for is the blood drinking thing." I stared at him. After a few minutes I guess he realized I was waiting for an answer, and he smiled again. His left eyebrow lifted a tiny bit, and he smiled so I could see his teeth. It had been too dark to see them before, but now. In the light of this cozy little cabin. I could see two very sharp, very white fangs.
I stopped breathing.
I literally felt my heart skip three or four beats.
All I could do was stare at him with this stupid expression, my mouth touching the floor. I felt his hand twitch under mine, and he stopped smiling. He swallowed hard. I didn't know vampires could swallow.
"So did you ever think this was possible?" He asked, half sarcastic and half worried. I shook my head, still staring at his mouth.
"I'd like it if you stopped looking at my mouth," he said, some how laughing, "it's kinda weird." I looked up at his eyes.
"Kinda weird? No. You know whats kinda weird?" I stood up, pulling my hand from his and taking a step away from him. I saw his leg shift in my direction, and he looked as though he was ready to chase me down if I was to start running. I tried again.
"You know whats weird, is finding out that a vampire just saved you from a death by vampires and that vampires actually exist." He opened his mouth to say something, but I raised my finger in protest. "I'm not finished. Also the fact that now I know there could be vampires trying to kill me and my new vampire buddy because he killed a vampire member of the scary vampire club. Did I get everything?" I look at him, frowning, my eyes wider that baseballs.
"I have to protect you now. There is no running from these guys. They will find you, kill you, and loose no sleep over it. Trust me." He stood up standing in front of me, holding my shoulders and staring into my eyes.
"Catherine, you have to go back to your life and forget about all this. Everything that happened. But just know that I am always around. Always. Watching who you talk to, who you leave with, just to be sure that they aren't trying to get you away from a group." I nodded, confused. What could I even say to that, no? I don't want you to protect me, I'd rather die, but thanks for offering? Hell no! So I just nod and feel like my stomach is going to fall out of my mouth.

Hi, I'm Isabella Swan but you can call me Bella. I live in Forks, with my father Charlie. I've lived in this tiny town my whole life. I know every corner, every bush, every tree like the back of my hand.
My best friend is Jacob Black. He lives a few blocks away from me, on La Push Drive. We've known each other since we were kids, and we've always been close. Never left each other for anyone. Always been each others rock. When my mum left, he was my shoulder to cry on. When his mum died, I was at his house 24/7. Nothing has ever come between us. That was, until a new family moved into town, who called themselves the Cullens.
comment, tell me what you think so i know if its worth finishing!!!
