“Hey Bella” I heard my name being called, I turned and saw Rachael. She was smiling. “Hey Rach” I said, she stood there still smiling. “What is it?” I asked she smiled and then pulled a pink piece of paper out of her bag. “What are you doing tonight?” She asked me. I smiled and then read the piece of paper. “Rach I don’t know...a party?” I asked unsure, she smiled. “Oh come on, it will be fun” She told me. I moaned in annoyance. “Rach, you know I hate parties” I said, opening the door of my truck. She stopped me from getting in. “Please, I don’t want to have to go alone” She said, she gave me puppy eyes. I signed and then smiled. “I’ll ask Charlie, but I’m not promising anything” I said. She smiled and then jumped, she went to walk away but then she stopped and then turned around. “By the way, Jacob’s coming” She said and then she winked at me and then finally she walked away. I signed and then got in my truck. I waited in the traffic jam, I tapped impatiently on my steering wheel, and I then noticed my scar. The scar was I the very centre of my palm. I wanted to get rid of it. I heard the car behind me beep and then I realised that the jam was clear. I shook my head then I stamped my foot on the gas pedal.

I opened my door, to find Charlie sitting on the couch. “Hey dad, why are you home?” I asked. He turned away from the paper to look at me, he smiled. “There’s nothing but bear hunts, so I came home early” he said, I smiled and walked over to sit next to him. “Dad, I need to ask you something” I told him, he turned to me, his eyes were widened. “Yes, Bells?” he asked suspicious. I smiled and then signed. “Tonight, Rachael wants me to go to a party” I said, I heard him clear his throat. I cringed oh no I thought. “Bella...will Jacob be there?’ he asked, I looked at him with shook. “Yes” I said, he then out down the paper and crossed his arms. “Will you be drinking?” he asked, I bit my lip trying not to laugh. “No, I will not be” I said, he pursed his lips. “Okay, but home by 12” he said, I didn’t exactly jump up with happiness. “Thanks” I said. I got up and walked to my bedroom. Jacob was sitting on my bed, I signed. I didn’t know what to say to him ever since, his little act. “Hey” I greeted. He signed and then laughed. “Yeah, about last night I’m sorry...are you coming to the party?’ He asked. I nodded and then sat beside him. “Jake let’s try to be friends” I said, he smiled and then nodded. “Well get changed we have a party to go to” he said, I moaned.

Jacob, Rachael and I pulled up in front of a double story house. People were just arriving. I looked over to Jacob. He laughed. “It won’t be that bad” he told me, I rolled my eyes and got out of the car. We walked to the front door. A girl about my age answered, I recognised her. Jessica Stanley. “Bella you came” She said as she let us all in. There was loud music is it was hard to hear, there were no food just drinks. I turned and looked at Rachael. “I hate you” I said, she smiled and then took my hand. I looked around to see if Jacob was near us but he wasn’t. “Where’s Jake?” I asked, she signed and then lead me to wear a bunch of people including Jacob were sitting in a circle, a bottle was in the middle of them all. I heard a girl say 7 minutes in heaven, I turned and walked away. Rachael grabbed my hand. “Where are you going?” She asked. I turned to face her. “I’m not playing 7 minutes in heaven” I told her. “Oh come on...every guy there wants to kiss you” she said, I gave her a confused look. “It’s not that...what if it lands of Jacob” I said, she smiled and then pulled me back, she practically pushed me down. She leaned over. “Then you have to kiss him” She whispered in my ear. I closed my eyes and then signed. “Okay who’s first?” A boy with light red hair asked. Jessica put her hand up. She span the bottle, it hit Mike, a boy in my gym class. He smiled and put a hand out to Jessica, she took it and they went into the closet. I took a deep breath. I signed and then looked at Rachael; she had a timer in her hand. The timer went off. “Time is up, you two!” She yelled the closet door then opened. Jessica was adjusting her top and giggling as was Mike. They both sat down. “Next” The boy said again. Jacob raised his hand. My heart stopped. “Oh god” I said to myself and then he span the bottle. It seemed like it took forever, it stopped on Rachael. “Eww” She screamed. “Yeah, guys I can’t kiss my sister” Jacob said. “Then Bella you go” The boy said, I nearly jumped. “Me?” I asked. Everyone nodded including Jacob. I signed. “Fine then” I said getting up and opening the closet door.

I moved as far away from the door as I could, and it closed behind me. I turned and saw him standing against the door, he didn’t look smug which was a surprise for me. He moved closer to me, cupping my chin with his fingers. I tried to look away but failed. He kept moving his body closer to mine, I started to walk backwards, I hit the wall and then couldn’t go and further. His face was inches away from mine. I moved forward, I don’t know why but some reason this felt like the right thing to do. His lips finally reached mine. The kiss was rough, not gentle at all, my hands were around his neck, and his were around my waist. He span around so that he was against the wall. I didn’t know what I was doing...it was going to be hard being friends after this...friends don’t kiss friends. I pushed him back. I was panting; I let my hands fall to his chest. “Jake, this isn’t helping the whole friend’s thing” I said. He smiled, and then kissed me again, his lips moved to my ear. “It doesn’t have to” he whispered in my ear. We both jumped when we heard the timer go off. I opened the door, Jacob and I pretended to smile. I sat down next to Rachael, not even daring to look at Jacob.

Jacob dropped me off; Rachael took a ride home with a friend. “Thanks for the ride” I said, smiling. I went to open the door but he stopped me. “Don’t act like it didn’t happen, Bella” he said, I signed and then looked at him. “It was game” I told him, he rolled his eyes. “It was more than that” he said, I took a deep breath. I didn’t want to hurt him, and I knew if I said anything else I would have, but I couldn’t lie to Jacob. “It was a mistake” I told him, I didn’t want to look at him. I heard him scoff. “You think it was a mistake?” he asked. I nodded slowly, still not looking at him. “Bella, I think Edward was the mistake” he said. He crossed the line, my chest started to hurt again. I wiped the tear coming down and then got out of the car. I hurried to the front door; I heard the rabbit door open. “Bella!” I heard him yell. I ignored him and quietly opened the door, Charlie must have been asleep. I turned to closed the door, but there he was standing there, he looked sorry. Tears were still going down my eyes. His deep chocolate eyes stared into mine. I looked down. “Bella...I’m...” I stopped him, putting a finger to his mouth. I signed and then smiled. “It’s okay, I know you’re not...but thanks” I said, he looked down as my finger dropped. I looked around to see if Charlie was up, but he wasn’t. I opened the door wider. “Come on” I said. He smiled and then walked in.

We sat there on my bed, talking about things that didn’t even matter. We didn’t bring up two things, Edward Cullen and the kiss. This was fine with me. “So what do you want to do tomorrow?” I asked. He cringed. I gave him a confused look. “Bella, I’ve got to go see the pack, tomorrow” he told me. I rolled my eyes. I had only met the pack once and only 1 of them really took a liking to me; Seth, the sweet young werewolf. The rest of them just called me vampire girl. “That’s okay, I can manage by myself for a while” I said, he smiled and then got up. “I have to go” he said, I looked at the clock. It was two thirty in the morning. “Yeah” I said, he turned to my window. “Goodnight Jacob” I said, he smiled and then went out my window. I turned to my bed. I fell on it. I heard my phone; I gasped and quickly answered not wanting Charlie to wake up. “Hello?” I asked. I heard nothing but breathing. “Hello?” I asked again. I rolled my eyes and shut the phone.
