I've been a vegetarian for over twelve years now because meat and poultry make me really ill (maybe I'm allergic) I can and do eat seafood sometimes, I'm not overly keen on cows milk, so I drink soya milk and use coffee whitener for coffee.
Having said that I do like flavored milk and will have regular milk in coffee when I'm out, I still like foods such as cheese and eggs and I could never imagine being totally vegan, I would have to give up ice cream (soya ice cream is nice but very expensive) I just have to wonder how do vegans handle such a diet? no cream, ice cream, cheese, eggs, etc.
I'm curious to know if anyone out there has been on a vegan diet for a long period of time and how it affects them, I've heard of people ending up very sick due to a dairy free diet.
And even some soya products have 'may contain traces of dairy' written on their packaging due to the fact that they are produced in a dairy factory.
I still stick to having as little dairy product in my diet, and there are heaps of soya alternatives to meat out there also, I wouldn't swap my meatless diet for anything, it's the best and it's great to have a spot just for us vegetarians.

CREULTY TO ANIMALS. SAY NO!
chickens aren't just things that can be bred, killed and eaten. they have souls, they feel pain. if you disagree with the way they are kept and treated, too, then join my club.
