Prologue
“Tell us a story mama!” Said Ice.             “Well ok my darlings.” Said the mother. Fire cuddled closer to her.         “Their once was a little kit named….Frog he was a loud kit and loved to hop around.” Said mother.         “The others were annoyed though so they yelled at him.” Said mother softly.             “This hurt the kits feelings. But his mommy and daddy told him that they did love him but just got annoyed at times.” Mother said quietly.     “So he was more quiet because he knew that they working and getting annoyed when he was playing.” Finished mother. Fire was a sleep but ice was still awake though her eyes were drooping.         “But mommy if frogs mommy and daddy love him why doesn’t are daddy love us?” Asked Ice.             “He does sweetie know go to sleep.” Ice finally went to sleep. Gently got up trying not to wake her kits up. She would miss them but she had to find their father.” Their father had left them by themselves alone in their den after a 1 moon. She sighed then leaped out. It was snowing fiercely making it hard to see. But she would not give up easily. Slowly she pushed her way through the snow. She turned her head back one last time to see her kits.         “I will always love you.” She whispered. Then turned to leave.
Chapter 1
Ice sighed. Today was a horrible day she had ate crowfood. Now she had a stomach ache. She rolled over in pain. Sharp pang in her belly made her leap to her paws. “Fire!” She yelled for her sister. She had left to hunt. Very many moons ago there mother had left them. Still they didn’t now were she had went. In fact they barely remembered her since she left when they were three moons old when she left.             “Fire!” She called again. Still no sign of her sister.         “Fi-“Before she could finished her sentence her sister popped out of nowhere.         “Stop being a frog!” Said her sister. She ducked her head with shame.         “Ah don’t be too hard on yourself. Anyways I was able to catch a squirrel and a mouse.” She added.         “Feeling better?” She asked.         “Yes.” She did feel better but she did still did feel a couple little stabs of pains but they were fading away now.         “Do you want the mouse or the squirrel?” Asked Fire interrupting her thoughts. She smiled at her sister.                 “Mouse.” She answered not wanting to take the squirrel since it was bigger than the mouse. Her sister deserved to have the squirrel since she hunted. Maybe I should hunt I wondered. “Go ahead.” Said Fire reading my thoughts.         “Thanks.” Ice said. The air was fresh and clear. I breathed it enjoying the fine whether. It had been a hard leafbare (Winter.). Now the air was fresh, clean, and clear not dirty, stormy, air. Fox! Ice must have not relived….it could get to are den! Ice noticed it was a bit stale though. Calming down Ice scented starling. That would make a great meal for Fire she loves starlings! It has been a long time since she has had some. It is coming from there. I turned my back to an old oak tree. There it is looks delicious! Ice slowly went up to it checking to make sure the wind was pointing in the west. She leaped. Caught it!         “Great catch!” Said a voice behind her. I spun around hissing. There was a cream colored she-cat behind me.     “I said that was a great catch no insult intended.” She said coolly.         “Who are you?” Ice asked taking a step backwards.             “Feather nice to meet you.” Feather replied. Ice stood there in silence not sure if my paws were rooted to the ground. “Well who are you I don’t know you either mouse-brain.” Feather said stepping back a little but still no fear in her eyes.         “I-ice.” Ice replied trying to sound cool.         “I only said great catch and you stare at me if I killed some cat.” She muttered under her breath loud enough for her to hear.             “Sorry!” Ice said jumping to my paws.         “…..Um thanks.”         “So where is your mother cause you’re a just a tiny little bit young to be by yourself no offence.” Feather added.         “I’m no kit thank-you very much.” Ice replied. “And besides why should I tell you?” Ice asked smartly.             “Cause I want to be your friend.” She said coolly. “I guess.” Feather whispered.             “I have a sister would you like to meet….her another time?” Ice asked remembering Fire didn’t like other cats in their den maybe because no other cat set paw in there.             “Sure maybe tomorrow?” She asked noticing worry in my eyes.             “Yes that would be great it`s been awhile since we`ve had company. “ Ice said trying to stay calm. We had no company, Friends, or mother in there for so long.         “Bye. See you tomorrow.” Feather said while padding of. But for some reason there was nervousness in her eyes. Ice watched her go hoping Fire would understand why invited her to come to our den. Though she knew she would not like visitors. Sighing she turned back to the path she had took their.

“What a great-looking starling!” Exclaimed Fire smiling.         “I know but…. I meet something when I caught it.” Ice muttered.         “What?” Asked Fire confused. Ice took a deep breath she wouldn’t be happy.         “Well let`s say I met something. Instantly her smile faded into a scowl. “Or maybe a cat by chance and I invited her to our den.” Ice finished nervously.             “You know no strangers come in here. She said hotly. She glared at her.         “Well yes…but this happened!” Ice yelled.         “You know it`s not safe!” Fire yelled back.         “I`m not a kit even if I was you would be a kit too!!!!” Ice screeched back to her.         “I know that!!” Fire yelled.         “Are you trying to replace mom because you are bad it!” Ice yelled. Instantly all the fury vanished from her gaze. It changed quickly to sadness. Ice relived she took it to far Fire looked crest-fallen whenever she mentioned their mother. But one bad thing about her Fire`s heart would usually break.         “F-fire I didn’t really mean it.” Said quickly. But her expression didn`t change.         “Please forgive me Fire I didn`t mean it at all!” I said softly. Fire took a deep breath trying to keep calm from the looks of it. “She can come but expect to see me when she comes because all be out in the forest.” Fire finished. Ice felt a rush of guilt I should have not lost it with her.         “Look Fire her name is Feather she`s kind and very nice you`ll like her.” Ice said trying to comfort her. But she turned away and padded out of the den and toward the forest.
    Chapter 2
Fire hurried into the forest hoping that Ice wouldn’t follow her. She just wanted to be alone for a little while. Fire smelled the air for prey. She didn`t need Ice to bring her starlings and other sorts of prey. Proudly she sniffed the air. Cat!                 “Hello a bit late to out don’t you think?” Asked a cat. She turned around. Kittypet she thought sourly. So annoying always bothering me.             “Are….you a tribe?” Asked the kittypet.         “A what?” Fire asked shifting my paws.             “A tribe the cats who live in groups and for some reason like to “pass through here” that tribe.” He answered.     “I am Tiger by the way. Tiger added.             “I am Fire tell me more about this tribe.” Fire prompted. “Well they have the cat who tells them what to do and the cats who fight and hunt.” Tiger finished.             “That sounds great!” Fire exclaimed.             “Are you…a tribe cat?” Fire asked.             “No but I sort of want to. Maybe even be leader. I live with my sister Lion who is dying to join a tribe.” Added Tiger chuckling softly as though thinking about his sister.         “So would they let you join or….do they fight you to the death?” Fire asked a bit nervous at the thought.             “No we`ve seen them let cats join them but, you would be bossed around by their tribe leader.” Tiger replied.         “What if I made a tribe?” Fire asked keen to know the answer.         “Do you want to?” Tiger questioned her.         “Yes very much.” Fire decided. “But how would I?” Fire asked pleadingly.             “Well you would gather a bunch of cats that would listen to you and that’s it really.” He finished.         “Would you join me?” Fire asked him.             “I would love to if you made a tribe.” He replied “I better go back home come get me if you make a tribe Fire I would love to join you!” Tiger padded of into the night. Fire watched him go almost sad. Then I remembered Ice she would join me! Instantly Fire scurried away to go home and tell what happened.

    Chapter 3

Fire must be so sad Ice thought glumly to herself.             “Back out so soon?” Ice turned around to see Feather.                 “Yes I got in a fight with my sister Fire.” Ice replied back sadly. Sighing Feather turned her head back and forth.             “You would be a perfect cat for a tribe.” Feather said sadly.         “What’s a tribe?” Ice asked wondering what that would be.         “Well it’s a place where cats hunt together and fight together they have a cat called the leader who is the wise cat in the tribe and tells them what to do.”             “How do you know this?” Ice asked.                 “A cat named Duck she was Grey she-cat with green eyes.” For some strange reason I jumped to my paws and felt a pang in my heart. “She was a cat who was a lower level and listened to their leader.” Feather prompted.             “Well I am beat. See you tomorrow.” Feather yawned and padded of into the mist. Ice turned around. She had to tell Fire about this she would love the idea of this Ice hurried in the path she had took.
Daylight poured into her den instantly she looked up for Fire. Fire was in the nest next her on nest.             “Fire wake up you sleepy hedgehog!” Ice nudged her softly. Slowly she began to stir. Then Fire jumped to her paws.                 “I have something to tell you!” Fire shouted excitedly.         “Me too!” Ice meowed “Mines more important!” Fire groaned. What did she mean by that? Had she found out something about mom?         “Mines very important too” Ice replied smoothly.     “    I am going to make a tribe named Firetribe will you join me?” Fire blurted out.             “So you know what a tribe is too?” Ice asked shocked.             “You do too? Why didn’t you tell me?” Asked Fire.             “Well anyways I’ll be their leader in fact I already found a cat his name is Tiger!” Said Fire.             “Wait Fire I can’t join you I will not be bossed around by a leader and be lower level cat besides when did I hear some cat say no strangers allowed?” Ice said hissed to her.             “That was different I were you going to be leader and make tribe?” Fire replied sourly.         “I am now!” Ice yelled to her. Anger boiled through her. How dare she try to order me around like a kit.         “Well I already found cats who will join me!” Fire hissed back with a smug smile.         “Me as well. Feather will join me!” She replied sourly back.         “You are no sister of mine!” Fire yelled back.     “So goodbye forever.” Fire spat then turned her back. Fire ran off into the forest hissing.         “Whoa that’s a bad fight!” Feather she thought said that but instead she saw a kittypet.             “Oh I’m Lion let me join your tribe please I’ve always wanted to join a tribe. I stood there in silence what would I say I’m a wild cat you sure you want to join me?         “S-sure but are you sure I mean I’m wild.” Ice meowed stuttering uncertainly.         “Oh yes but where’s the other cats?” Lion asked questioningly.         “Well…..there is none yet but Feather would maybe join.” She said trying to sound sure though I wasn’t but Lion didn’t seem to notice or mind.         “Then let’s go!”
“But Feather.” Ice began. Feather looked crest-fallen. “I want you to be second in command!” I told her. Feather’s eyes widened.         “Really because I would love to!” Feather exclaimed.         “Yep I’m also joining pretty exciting right?” Lion happily said. We still need to find more cats though. Ice added to herself not wanting to ruin their excitement.

    Chapter 4
Fire padded along with Tiger at her heels. They were going to be a perfect tribe they would beat Ice and her so-called members she had been jabbering about. Tiger her second in command told her about two cats named Dark and Shadow witch happened to be identical brother and sister. He also said he scented some cats nest but didn’t meet them. First, they would find Shadow and Dark then look for those cats he told her about.         “Um hello will you help us?” There in front of them was a brown furred she-cat with amber eyes, a tom with brown fur as well with brown eyes and also to kits that looked like they were 5 moons old.             “I-I’m Joy this is Glen we need a bit of help.” Joy said flicking her tail toward the cat named Glen.             “These are my kits Ace and Snake.” Joy added. Snake a short-haired she-kit with black fur and brown eyes ran toward Tiger and shouted     “A Tiger run!”         “Don’t be so rude Snake were asking these nice cats for help and your being rude.” Joy said then glanced at them.             “Kits? Hungry mothers? You are not even pure-blood just soft, fat, and useless. Go plead for your hairless human as you kittypet call them. Shouted Fire noticing that Tiger who was a former kittypet now had flinched at the harsh words. Glen had unsheathed his claws and had stepped in front of Joy and his kits. “Your weak you belong in my sister’s tribe.” She growled to them.         “T-there’s another tribe?” Asked Joy nervously.         “Yes weaklings go horrible cats that are useless and are wasting the forest there weak minds. You belong there.” Fire snarled to them. Tiger seemed a surprised that Fire was shooing them away.         “Where do they live?” Asked Glen fury and anger still in his eyes.         “The other side over there go bother them and distract them instead of us.” Fire spat to them. They turned away in the direction of Ice’s den that she told them about. Then relived that was a horrible mistake Glen looked in the perfect condition to fight and hunt Joy could do plenty of things when the kits grew older, and the kits may not be pure-blood but they could easily be taught to fight and hunt better than their parents plus Joy was obviously expecting more kits. But they kept on heading in toward her old den obviously not caring about whatever she had to say. One of the kits Ace a brown furred tom with blue eyes turned his head around to stare at them.     “Come on my darling ace.” Said Joy in the distance.     “They are mean?” protested Ace. “Yes very mean.” Said Glen. “Come on all show you were the twins live.” Tiger said interrupting her thoughts.          “Yes. Let’s go.” Fire said almost whishing I hadn’t been mean to their big lot. But we would still beat Ice no matter what it would take.
Silverpaw blinked open her eyes when a cool breeze blew by. She stretched and then realized only she and Amberpaw were in the apprentice's den. The others were probably already training.
Silverpaw nudged her denmate. "Hey Amberpaw," she mewed. "It's time to get up."
The dark orange she-cat yawned and flexed her claws. "Okay let's go," she said as she slid through te exit of the den.
Outside, the dawn light was pink and yellow. A cool springleaf breeze fluffed up her fur as she walked toward her father, Lionblaze.
The golden tabby tom turned around and purred when he saw his daughter. "How is your apprentice training?"
"Good," Silverpaw replied. "We already learned how to hunt!"
"Great!" Lionblaze looked impressed. "Is Ivypool a good mentor?" he asked.

Rainpaw adjusted in her nest, feeling bone-tired. Why couldn't she fall asleep? She glanced outside. The sky was dark, and Rainpaw guessed that it was a little after midnight. She rose slowly to her paws, careful not to wake anyone and padded slowly out of the den. She spotted Morningshade on guard duty, pacing back and forth with her eyes trained on the dark pine forest that lay beyond the camp. Rainpaw carefully picked her way through the camp and into the forest. Maybe I can get some hunting done, she thought. Rainpaw sniffed the air and picked up the scent of squirrel. She followed the...

                Chapter 1
Moonpaw was bored with having to look after Bloodfur and Foxblaze. The two cats had greencough. She wished she could be out in the forest hunting and training with her brother, Pebblepaw. Just as she finished giving Bloodfur the rest of his catmint, she heard Bluestar’s familiar call, “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here below Highledge.”
As she crept out of the medicine den she glanced around for Pebblepaw. She...
