General Woundwart's brothers,sisters,and father were killed by a man.His mother was killed by a weasel.A school teacher took care of him,but he tried to kill the teacher so he was put in a cage,but he escaped.Then he took over a warren,but he became power hungry and left the warren with the rabbits and created Efrafa.
His father was a foolish and carefree rabbit who made their home in the garden of a man, The man shot Woundwort's father and dug up the doe and her kits. Only Woundwort and his mother escaped. Sensing weakness, a weasel attacked Woundwort's mother and ate her, leaving Woundwort to fend or himself.
Found by a kind farmer who cared for him, Woundwort was saved. He grew up wild and aggressive, however and escaped the man. He took over one warren, but found that it was not hidden well enough. Taking several followers, he traveled to find a safe place where men would never find them which is how Efrafa was founded.
Once there, they became so safe and hidden that they became overcrowded. Woundwort was so concerned with keeping it hidden that he refused to allow any rabbit to leave the warren. In order to control them, He sent up the sentries, marks and Owslafa.
