Christopher Reeve had studied up so much on Superman that he seemed to know more about the Superman franchise than just anybody else working on the show.
Christopher Reeve appeared in a season two episode named Rosetta. The episode ended with Christopher Reeve and Tom Welling, the actor that played Clark in Smallville, promoting Christopher Reeve's foundation. Christopher Reeve also appeared in a season three episode named Legacy.

The film had a special appearance from a version of Superman that had Christopher Reeve's likeness. In his cameo, Christopher Reeve's Superman was joined by Helen Slater's Supergirl.
