Lupa leapt high into the air, and landed lightly on a ridged rock. She looked around, feeling a sudden urge to find something. "T-takota?" she called, not sure how she new the name but she obviously did. "Takota? Where are you?" "Kouya! Watch out!" came a frightened voice, and Kouya, if that even was her name, tried to move out of the way of the mystrious object that mysteriously was coming at her, but she was too late. Sonething silver pierced her chest, and she screamed in pain and fell back, off the rock and onto the cold ground. "Kouya!" was the last thing she heard before it all went black.
Lupa stalked out of Cailean's den, her blue eyes flaring. She passed a group of wolves her age, but didnt stop to sit with them. She hated how even Cailean hid stuff from her. What had she done wrong? Was it that she wasnt paying attention in her lesson? Did the leader of the pack order her to be shunned? No, that cant be it. Lupa sat under a tree, confusion and sudden fear engulfing her. There was definatly something wrong with her, and she knew some other wolves knew what it was. She wanted so badly to go back and talk to Cailean, but she had told him off and didnt want to see Lupus again. Nuntis? No. He was probably into no mood to talk to her. Aatu? Yes! He she could talk to. She got up and prepared to travel to where Aatu slept, but stopped when she heard a voice in the wind. 'Stay here! Or die.' it hissed menacingly, but Lupa shook her head and pounded off. 'That voice...' she thought, '...sounds familiar...' "No." she shook herself back into reality. This wasnt the time to day-dream. She had to figure out why she was seemingly important, she should say. She slowed down, her nostrils flaring with Aatu's scent. She was about to walk into the den when an elegant but muscular dark grey wolf stopped her. "Lupa. Why are you here?" it asked, and Lupa could see confusion in its brilliant green depths. "I-i came to speak with you..." she whimpered, and met Aatu's gaze bravely. He was a loner, but very wise. Not exactly old though. "Speak with me? You must be lost. Ill show you the way back to your den, Lupa." Aatu flicked his very long and silky tail towards the way she had come. "Wait. Im not lost. I really want to speak with you. I had a dream that i was named Kouya, and this other wolf, Takota i think, was my friend? And i couldnt find him so i called out. It was in a creepy dark forest, filled with burnt trees and ash. Takota didnt respond. But suddenly, i heard someone shout, look out! And i tried to run but then something hit my chest, and i think i died." Lupa felt weird sharing this with Aatu, but he was her only option. "Wait. You say your name was... Kouya? And your friend was Takota?" he asked, his eyes widening with sudden interest. "Y-yes..." Lupa stammered, not sure why his eyes suddenly brightened. "Well. Kouya and Takota were... special wolves... Kouya was the son of Beowulf and AdoQhina, the ancient king and queen of all wolves. But they abandoned him, and he never knew who his parents were. Takota was the son of the evil, but he wasnt evil, obviously. At first, both wolves were normal, not powerful ghostly beings. They became friends not long after each parent left them in the wild, alone and scared. They were great friends, always hunting with each other, living with each other in a perfect den, saving each other's hides. Until humans began invading their home mountain. Takota wanted to kill any human they saw, but Kouya refused. He wanted peace, but was also angry that the humans were ruining their only home. Pretty soon they were forced out of their den, and had to leave the mountain. They traveled for several days, hungry, cold and hopeless. Finally, Takota found a makeshift den, so they could rest. Kouya was weak. They both were, but Kouya especially. Takota tried to take care of him, caught him fresh kill, gave him water, kept him warm each night, until humans invaded their new home. One dawn, the two wolves were traveling again. Kouya was as weak as ever, and barely kept up with Takota. Thats when they were spotted by blood-thirsty humans. Takota tried scaring them away, not hurting them like he had promised Kouya, but snapping menacingly close to their hands and ankles. Kouya watched, slumped on the ground, as his brave friend tried to save them both. One human took out his gun, aimed at Kouya, and shot. That was the end of Kouya. Takota ran, grief-stricken and alone. He swore to get revenge on the humans. So he attacked. He fought and fought until there was one human left in the forest. He tracked it for days, and finally got his chance. He ran and leapt on the human, visciously grabbing its arm in his jaws. But the human was prepared. It grabbed a sharp silver blade from its pocket, lifted it high, and stabbed it into Takota's chest, slicing it open. That was the end of Takota's life..." Aatu lifted his broad head high. "Wow..." Lupa whispered. "What did they look like?" "Didnt you see in your dream? Nevermind. Kouya was a brilliant white wolf with bright green eyes. Takota was a dark black wolf, with red-amber eyes and a brown chest." Lupa looked back at her own pelt, remebering it was a brilliant white when she was a pup, but it had changed over time. "Aatu... do you think... that im... a reicarnation of Kouya?" "No, no. Kouya didnt make it to heaven, so he returned to his mountain. Same with Takota. Now they are spirits, roaming freely. You have to go to heaven to be reicarnated." "Oh..." Lupa shifted, disappointed. "But...", Aatu started again,"It is possible they could be born again, taken the body of a new wolf. Kouya and Takota were known as... not really anything..." Aatu stretched, his bones cracking. "But its possible i could maybe be Kouya? Because i remember my death scene, and ive had dreams about being a spirit wolf." Lupa circled Aatu inpatiently, wanting to hear more about Kouya, Takota and herself. "Maybe... but you might just have those because its a dream. No wolf knows why dreams happen, or what they are." Aatu yawned and padded into the sunshine. Lupa snorted. She wasnt getting any answers anymore. Now this is a waste of time. 'Please...' she thought, 'If theres anyone out there who can tell me who i am, that would be great!'
