I woke up in my bed Thor was there sitting by me. “What happened?” I said in a confused tone. “You fainted. Now what’s going?” he had control in his voice. “None of your business” I said getting out of bed, he backed off until I reached for the door handle. His hand was holding my arm. “Tell me” his tone was threatening. “Let go of me!” I said, I didn’t struggle he just let go. Me and Thor were always getting into fights and only once did it ever got physical. We were in Paris. He was training me. I never had taken orders from him and I never will. “I will get it out of you and if not me Ethan or Dawn” This was a Threat. I turned around and looked him in the eye. “My power is one you don’t want to mess with” I said this with anger. “What are you going to do?” he asked in a mocking tone. “Liz” I said. I said his eyes widened. This was his only weakness. “You wouldn’t” he said, this was a challenge I wouldn’t though not only was Liz my best friend but he reason she was so cheery was him. “Do you want to test me?” I asked and then I walked out.

I was sitting in the park near where I had found the pendant. “Hey” I heard a familiar voice say. I turned around to find Adam; he was standing straight with a wide smile. “Hey, Adam” I said. I remembered what Liz had said about him being not happy but I don’t get why he looks fine. “Taking another break?” he asked now sitting beside me. “Yep and so what brings you here?”I asked. “No, I came here t find you” The word shocked me as they came out of his moth. “What? Why?’ asked. “To ask you something” he answered, he was still smiling so that was a good sign. “Would you like to go out with me?” he said, now his smile was apologetic. “What?” I asked in astonishment. “I just asked you on a date?” he said. “No I know I’m just a little shocked” I admitted. “So that’s a no” His tone was disappointed. “No, yeah sure why not” it just came out like puke. A smile lit up on his face I had made him happy I like that.

I rushed through my door; everybody looked at me in shock. I Sat next to Dawn. “Oh god” I said laying my head on her shoulder Thor and Ethan now looking at me. “What’s up?” Ethan asked. “Adam is” I said, I wanted to tell them everything but with Ethan there it just didn’t feel good. “That guy that goes to our school?” Dawn asked shrugging me off. “Yeah, him” I said in a mocking tone. “But you said yes” Thor said, Ethan’s face lit up with anger. He had only said it to spite me. “Yes, but he looked so sad when he thought I said no” I said looking at Ethan, part of me felt bad but he did say it was a mistake. I turned back at Thor and shot him a glare. “Remember what I said” I said looking at him like a diseased puppy. “I’m not afraid of you” he said standing up Ethan saw where this was going, he stood up and put his left hand on Thor’s shoulder pulling him back. I stood up. “You should be” I said putting my finger on his chest. I imagined Liz and Ethan together I couldn’t put him through physical pain but I could still hurt him. I saw pain in his eyes. “Stop it!” Ethan yelled, he grabbed my arm and pulled me off him. I looked back at Thor his hand where on his knees he was breathing hardly. This hurt me seeing him go through this I didn’t want my brother to get hurt like this. The next thing I knew I was getting dragged up the stairs by Ethan he looked angry but that didn’t bother me. He sat me down on my bed and sat beside me. “What the hell was that about?” he asked the anger in his voice still hadn’t gone away. “He shouldn’t have said that in front of you” I said. “In fact he shouldn’t even know that” I said now I was the angry one. “He can’t block it out, you have a connection, and so do we” his voice was now gentle. I felt bad for him my hand moved from my lap to his cheek, I wanted to kiss him. But it would be a mistake, but people make mistakes. I moved closer and so did he but then he stopped and moved away.

“We can’t” his voice was not as gentle as before. “Why?” I asked, I sounded like a child you just found out Santa wasn’t real. “Because, you don’t like me and you’re just playing games” He said, I was shocked, I wasn’t the one playing games, he was, but this didn’t make me angry it just made me think. I got up like him and pushed my fingers up his back to his neck. He didn’t push me away so I knew he trusted me, but I didn’t want him to, I didn’t trust him, I never have, so why does he trust me? I needed to know. I imagined me and him the other night. I could feel his body shutter as I saw this then he turned and faced me, at first he looked angry but then when I thought about the other night again it was too much and then he kissed me.

This kiss was powerful, my hands were in his hair his were around my waist, but he stopped. I looked up at him we were both panting, he looked angry. “Don’t use your powers on me” He said this in an angry tone worse than before. He moved away and sat on my bed. “Tonight I have to watch you” he said his tone was the same. I moved over and sat next to him. “I’m sorry” I apologised, I was sorry If it’s one thing we are taught it’s never to use your powers to get what you want and I did want him.

“I need to go check on Thor, stay here” he said and then got up and left the room. I took a deep breath I had just hurt my brother and manipulated Ethan into kissing me. Then he was back sitting next to me. A tear came to my eye; I had hurt the people I care about for nothing. Ethan grabbed me and hugged me tight to him. “It’s okay, I’m here” he whispered in my ear. I wish I could believe that.

I woke up in Ethan’s arms, I didn’t want to move, I wanted to stay there with him but I knew I couldn’t not only because I had school but I was now dating Adam. I got up gently lifting his arm off my waist. He then woke and smiled at me while his eyes opened.”Morning” I yarned getting off the bed. “Don’t remind me” he giggled as he got up and stretched his arms. He was sitting in my bed looking at me, I moved closer to him and grabbed his arm and started to pull him off the bed. “What are you doing?” he asked. “I have to get dressed” I said pushing out the door. He looked at me and smiled. “I have seen it all before” He said smug. My eyes widened. “Please tell me you’re joking” I said. “Maybe” he said this less smugly then before, I just close my eyes and shut the door. I didn’t know what I wanted to wear, so I just grabbed out a hot pink shirt and shinny jeans and put them on.

I opened my door and Ethan was waiting there, he smiled at me and let me through. We walked down stairs to find no one. I turned to Ethan who was sitting at the table. I walked over and sat next to him. “Where is everyone” I asked. He looked up at me and smiled. “You’re not going to school today” He answered biting into an apple. “Why?” I asked. He looked at me not smiling anymore. “Your parents know about last night and don’t be mad at me but I told them what you did to me” I was mad when he said this. “So where is everybody then?” I said in an angry tone. “Your parents and Dawn and Thor are in Australia” I gave him a confused look. “Why would my parents be in Australia” I asked. He smiled and put the apple down. “Visiting the Mocaloo’s” I recognised the name Ethan had mentioned it once before. “Who are they?” I asked. “A tribe in Australia, they control all the pendants and after what happened last night they wanted to know what was going on with yours and why this has such an effect on you” He said. I felt alarm they would tell them everything, about the dead girl. I would have to tell Ethan everything. But I could I remembered Thor’s words. ‘I will get it out of you and if not me then Ethan’. But it was the only was Ethan had experienced his power he could help me. “I need to tell you something” I said in an apologetic tone. “What is it?” he asked. “The reason I have been so off it, is because the person I’m meant to help true love is dead” I said. His eyes widened. “Dead, How do you know?” he asked staring into my eyes. “It was on the news” I said looking down at the table. He put his hand on my cheek and wiped a tear that was coming down my face away. “Well we can’t do anything about it now so there is no point in stressing about it” he whispered. His hand dropped from my face and he picked up the apple and took a big bite out of it.

My name is Starr Makenzie and I'm from the future. Don't laugh at me! It's true. I was born on May 8th 2099. I am currently 16 years old but I am in 2009 right now. I read in my book that 2009 was an interesting year for politics and for the economy. I wanted to come here for a couple of reasons but I can't tell you why.
"Starr Makenzie!" My math teacher Mr. Howards yells at me "Pay attention!"
I look up from doodling and see everybody staring at me. They are all just jealous that I'm the only one getting an A+. I'm actually a really smart person but I don't pay attention in class anymore because...

We make them and we break them, because some promises are very hard to keep. Here are the top six most common broken promises...

1."I'll come back tomorrow"
You always hear this from builders, plumbers, and electricians. But the truth is very different. They won't come back until next week(or later). And you will probably need to phone them 5 times first.

2."I won't tell anyone"
We love hearing secrets and we happily make this promise. And at the time we really mean it.'Don't worry,'we say,'your secret is safe with me.'But of course it isn't.Research shows that everybody will always tell one other person...
