I awoke around ten that morning. I looked beside of me Alexander sat looking at me. A hint of a smile was on his face.
“Good morning,” he said, handing me a cup of coffee.
“Thanks,” I said taking a sip. It was just the way I like it, black.
“You may want to get dressed,” Alexander said, eyeing my stomach. I pulled up the sheet.
“Why? Clothes are so restricting,” I said. There was no point in getting dressed. I needed to avoid Grey as long as possible. She would be pissed.
“I know, but it would be polite. You don’t want to be naked in front of Lucy or her friend…What’s his name…” Alexander looked at the floor thinking.
“Xander is his name. Lucy is here?” she didn’t know where Alexander lived, did she?
“Yes, they got here about thirty minutes ago. By the way, I told Lucy,” Alexander said.
“How did she react?” I prayed she didn’t fall to pieces, as I would’ve done.
“She took it really well; she asked why I gave her up. I told her I never knew she existed. Lucy seemed to accept the answer,” Alexander said.
“I’ll be in there in a minute,” I said, giving Alexander a cue to leave the room.
“Okay,” he stood from the bed, and went into what I assumed to be the living room.
I threw the covers off me. I went over near the bedroom door, my clothes laid in a black pile. I put my shirt on, then my pants, and belt.
After I was dressed, I went into the living room. Lucy and Xander sat on a black leather sofa. Alexander wasn’t in the room. Lucy looked from Xander up to me, and grinned. I saw the similarities now; Alexander and Lucy had the same smile, thin lips, rabbit nose, and rounded eye shape. Maybe that’s why she looked familiar when I first met her.
“Hello, Damien,” she said.
“Hello, Lucy. How are you?” I asked.
“Good, Damien this is my friend Xander,” Xander had black hair, and brown eyes. He had a lip ring, and his left ear was pierced. He wore a black tank top, with black ripped jeans, and skater shoes.
“Nice to meet you, Xander,” I said.
“Lucy has told me a lot about you, Damien,” he said.
“Really?” I said looking at Lucy. She gave a sheepish grin. Lucy wore a black mini-skirt, and a purple Legalize Gay tee shirt. Alexander walked back into the room; he sat in a black chair. I noticed everyone was sitting, and I felt out of place. I sank down onto the love seat behind me.
“I was thinking we could go to the art museum today,” said Xander. “The four of us.”
“Oh, that would be fun,” said Lucy enthusiastically.
I looked over at Alexander. “I don’t think Alexander or I have anything to do today, I‘m sure we can go,” I said.
“Yes, my schedule is free today,” he said. “We’ll go now.”
He stood up, and walked over to the apartment door. Lucy, Xander, and I followed. We went outside, it was hot, but there were gray clouds in the distance.
“We will walk,” said Alexander. He started down 7th Avenue. I walked behind Lucy and Xander. They talked with their heads leaned in close. Every few minutes I could hear Lucy giggle. Young love was amazing; they didn’t really know what it was. Yet they knew it better than adults ever could.
After a moment, Alexander came back to me. He let Lucy and Xander lead the way. Alexander took my hand, and held it in his. I smiled inwardly; it was nice to have him. I had wanted him for so long, now to admit it, and have him, made me feel complete. I never wanted this moment to end, not between Alexander and I, or being with Xander and Lucy. I wished this was permanent, but it was only temporary.

Last summer I went to Los Angeles to stay with my cousin for a few weeks. One afternoon we were having lunch in a nice restaurant in the centre of the town when my cousin got a call on her mobile phone and went outside to talk. While she was speaking to her friend,I suddenly noticed a man in a black hat who was sitting at the next table. It was the actor Johnny Depp!He was alone, and I decided to take my chance. So I got up and went to his table:'Excuse me,could I have my photo taken with you?'I asked. He said yes,so I stopped a waitress who was passing by and gave her my camera. She took the photo of me and Johnny,I thanked them both, and then I returned to my table. When my cousin came back,I smiled.'Why are you looking so pleased with yourself?'she asked.
'I had my photo taken with Johnny Depp.'
'Johnny Depp?Where is he?'
'He's sitting over there.Look!'
She turned around to look and then started to laugh.
'That's not Johnny Depp!'I looked at the man in the black hat-he was laughing too.

You held up your pumpkin spice finger,
With a playful wink,
Your sweetness saved me several times,
When I was on the brink,
The warmth within your spritely smile,
Allowed me to be real,
Your cinnamon and sugar hugs
They taught me how to feel.
I'd run down to the coffee shop,
So I could see your face.
You've seen me at my happiest,
You've seen me in disgrace.
And though you're always beaming,
Still I feel the need to say,
It's okay if you have some days,
Where your spice fades away.
