Michael ran from the black, shadowy figure that was standing in the street. It began chasing after him, and he began to freak out. I can't freak out or it'll catch me, and I can't let that happen! he thought. Even so, he felt himself tiring as he cleared his neighbor's hedges and bolted for the alleyway between the Soda Shop and the 10 Cents Store.
The antique store across the street from him had it's doors open with it's lights off. Michael sprinted into the store and careened to a stop. He turned around, slammed the door shut, and ran haphazardly up the stairs to look for a hiding spot. After a quick scan of the rooms he decided that the spot under the bathroom sink in one of the rooms would have to do.
As if on cue, he heard the figure slowly open the door, the door creaking in protest. He heard the figure step through the doorway with slow, heavy footsteps. The figure searched the whole house, it seemed, before heading upstairs. As he heard the footsteps coming up the stairs, he thought Isn't there a gun case in the next room over?. The figure must have been taking it's time, because there was still 2/3rds of the steps to go. Here goes nothin'! he thought as he dashed out from his hiding spot into the next room.
The figure heard him, and began rushing up the stairs. Time seemed to slow down, everything was happening at once. Him reaching the next room, breaking the glass in the case, hearing the figure reach the top of the stairs, himself grabbing a gun and rounding on the figure as it froze in the doorway, obviously terrified of the gun he was holding.
Judging by the mess he made, he hadn't missed when he shot the shotgun. The figure was a mush splattered from the doorway onto the wall in the hallway. When he saw that he had won the fight, a huge wave of relief rushed over him, knowing that nothing should bother him now. He blacked out, the shotgun falling beside him as his head hit the soft carpet.

Your heart is sore, crippled up like paper.
Your voice is weak, barely passing by you.
Your body is tired, let it lay for tonight.
You are but you- a stranger to much.
No one cares to know you.
They do not wish to after all.
And all those times you told everything-
It was a lie, I love you became a lie. A horrible lie not one can ever take back to you. How could they, breaking your very soul to the apple's wrinkled core? It shook and broke, just like that. Lonesome and ever so exhausted of even thinking it would be different this time around.
You're so hopeless. You probably cannot move away from the pain, the desecration left in the path at the end. Then again, in the end it probably doesn't even matter, does it?
Once a joy, now a misery forever scared, alone.

I walk into
The Fields of Sorrow
Once again.
Why do I walk there
Almost everyday?
I stroll along the grasses
Thinking
Bearing a horrible pain.
I think of the world around me
And how much they have inspired me.
I start to cry once again.
All my teachers
All my friends,
They have always stood by me,
When things went wrong.
I want a chance to repay them,
To show them that...
Their work was useful.
To show them that
I am truly thankful.
Why do I have to leave them then
Now?
No, now's not a good time.
But I know it was not intended
That I leave them now.
I want to show all those people
That they have been
The change of my life,
That they have made my life so much
Better,
That they were the flames
In the darkness.

Run. It was the only thing going threw Leven,Evie, Matthew and Cameron's mind right now as the dogs and people chased them into the forest. They went as fast as they could as the dogs got closer and closer.
They weren't suppose to be running from the dogs right now. Then again they weren't suppose to be convicted of a crime they didn't do but it had happened.
"Hurry they're gettin' away!" A loud and gruff voice said behind them. The barking got louder. A sharp pain was in Leven's side as she ran. She had taken track at school so she was use to it but it was terrible. She could barely breath as she ran.
Matthew turned his head to look back at the others for a split second and had came in contact with something hard. The thing fell back and Matthew staggered. They all stopped then as the body picked herself up. They looked I to the eyes of a criminal. The most wanted person alive in america. Brig.

I never thought it would be that easy,
Cause we are both so distant now.
And the walls are closing in on us,
And we are wondering how.
No one has a solid answer,
But just walking in the dark,
You can see the look on my face,
It just tears me apart.
When I first met you,
I thought,
How would I get to know this girl well?
Now,
I think,
Why do I have to leave this girl already?
But you and I,
Both of us are walking alone,
In the dark.
Even though you are not with me,
I can feel you with me in my heart.
It just breaks me to think
That you are not with me.
But now,
As I have pondered this situation
For a while now,
I have made a decision.
I am alone.
I am not alone, however, in my heart.
You are with me,
Walking in the dark,
Together.
Cause we are both so distant now.
And the walls are closing in on us,
And we are wondering how.

But just walking in the dark,

Some of you may go through life,
Thinking something,
That is,
Who the hero is in your life.
I am one of those people.
But what I found is that
Even though many people are major influences
On my success in life
Such as my closest friends,
My teachers,
My parents,
Those serving for our country,
Others around me,
Or even my worst enemies.
This year I have found that
The hero that I have
Is no one else
But me.
My hero is myself.
I inspire myself to do everything I do.
I am the light of my life.
