Chapter One
A discovery
Two years later
"Come on, you three, hurry up! We have to get this project done fast!" said Lori. "Lori! Slow down! We aren't as fast as you!" said Jesse. Lori Lopez, Jesse Martin, Nina Boyce, and Ray Martinez are four best freinds who are all 14, and have superpowers. "Finally! We're here!" Said Nina. For their summer project, they were going to explore the old factory on the top of Higgins hill. Once they were inside, they found a room labled 'freeze room' they looked inside the window. "There are people in here!" said Ray. Lori pushed the 'defrost' button. They could see that it was getting warmer. Vialo, Jasper, Ella, and Steve came to life. They walked out, Vialo and Jasper holding hands. "Who are you? What year is this?" asked Vialo. "My name is Lori Lopez, this is Jesse Martin, this is Nina Boyce, and last is Ray Martinez. this is the year 2007. School just got out." said Lori. "Oh man,... guys, we've been frozen for two years! It looks like we've grown during that time, also!" Said Vialo, noticing the change in height. "Oh! My name is Vialo Wilson, This is my boyfreind Jasper Talley, This is Ella Newbie, and this is Steve Hawks. Thank you for defrosting us." said Vialo. They turned to leave."W-Wait where are you going?" asked Nina. "Home." said Jasper. "Can we follow you?"asked Jesse. "Sure, but be quick, we go fast." said Ella.
* * * * *

At Jasper's house, their parents and families were more than glad to see them. They explained what happend and introductions were made. Lori and the others were rewarded. Vialo was talking to Lori in private. "So where is your family?" asked Lori. "They all died in a fire when I was 12 years old. ever since, I've been staying with Jasper's family ever since. Our families were close. Jasper's family gladly took me in. Me and Jasper started going out when we were 13." said Vialo. "Wow. I'm so sorry. I wish there was sometihng I could do." said Lori. "Yeah, if only you could." said Vialo. All of a sudden, there was a scream. "What was that?" asked Lori. "Don't know. Let's go check it out." Vialo said. When they got to the others, every thing seemed normal. Jasper was holding a paper, his face hard as stone. "Vialo, a brick wrapped in a paper came through the door when we opened it to go outside. Look who it's from." he said. Vialo took the paper, her hands trembling. In bold letters, it said: Jack and Jess. She read the letter aloud. It says: Dear Vialo, we knew you losers got unfrozen. We saw the news. We will take someone dear to you losers, and the rest... is a surprise. Losers. Jess and Jack. "What do you think they mean by 'someone dear?" asked Ella. "I don't know, but I don't think I want to find out." Steve said. "Well, we should at least try to find Jack and Jess. Lets go to the secret place and get ready." said Vialo.
* * * * *

The next day, Vialo, Ella, Jasper, and Steve went to the most unexpected place for Jack and Jess to hide: The construction site. "Well, we're here. Lets check it out." said Jasper. They split up into two teams. Vialo and Jasper, and Ella and Steve. When they were inside, Vialo spotted something glimmering in the darkness. She walked over to it. Then suddenly, a door came down right behind her, and she felt the area move. "What's happening? Jasper help me!" Yelled Vialo. She heard cables moving, then heavy footsteps above her. "Jasper! Get me out of here!" yelled Vialo. Jasper opened a door above her, and pulled her out. She grabbed the object. "What did you find?" Vialo handed him the object. "A locket? T-That looks like..... Jack and Jess?!" said a surprised Jasper. Ella and Steve somehow found them. "Well, we didn't find anything." said Steve. All of a sudden, Vialo screamed. "VIALO!" excliamed Jasper. Vialo was being dragged away. "H-H-HELP ME! SOMEBODY HELP!" Vialo yelled. A giant machine appeared controlled by [of course] Jack. His robot held up a screaming Vialo. "Let her go, Jack." said Jasper, going into his super mode. Vialo, Ella and Steve also went into their super mode. Vialo was able to break the robot's hand that held her up. All of a sudden, Jess burst through the wall. "Jack!" she exclaimed. Jess stomped over to him. "I thought you said we would do the plan together! What's wrong with you?" asked Jess as she yelled at him. "I changed my mind! Got a problem with that?" Jack shot back at her. As they fought, Vialo and the others snuck away. "Ah, young love." whisperd Steve. Ella giggled. Later, they were at the secret place. The secret place is their base of operations, you know, where you talk and see what's happening. In this case, what will happen.
* * * * *

When Vialo opened her eyes, she saw that she wasn't in her room. "Where am I?" she wondered aloud. What will happen now? Vialo asked herself. "Oh, it's you, Mari, You scared me." a voice said. "Heh. Well you have to be sneaky if you are a ninja as high ranked as me. Any word about Vialo yet?" asked Mari. "No. We know she's still alive, we can sence it. She is my sister, after all. " said the voice. "Okay. Good luck, Taylor." said Mari. Taylor? My sister? She's alive? Vialo thought. All of a sudden, Vialo was pulled back to reality. "Vialo? Did you have another vision?" asked Jasper, shaking her awake. "Yeah, I-I'm okay. Jasper, my family is alive." Vialo said. "That's great news, Vialo!" said Ella. "Yeah, but where are they?" asked a voice. The four turned around. They saw a girl with black hair and blue highlites. She had on black clothes, fingerless gloves and combat boots on. She had a black choker with a amulet on. "My name is Serina Salas. I have come to help protect Vialo from the shadows." said the girl. All of a sudden, there was an explosion. "Gosh Nate, what did you do?" asked Serina. A boy, covered in smoke walked in the room. Vialo blew the smoke off him."Thanks. Hey, you're Vialo!" He turned to Serina. "Did you tell her about the shadows yet?" said Nate. "I was about to when you made that explosion!" Serina yelled at Nate. "Anyway, the shadows are monsters controled by an unknown evil. They steal hearts then trap them, then a shadow is created. Our job is to find Vialo and help her destoy the shadow master." said Serina.

inch by inch

bringing me closer

to my doom

butterflies of

anticipation

flutter nervously

in my stomach

knuckles whiten

jaws clench

what have I

gotten myself into

the suspense

is killing me

I'm going to hate it

I'm going to love it

I might lose my lunch

but I don't care

heaven help me

here it comes...

...

I hold my breath...

...

and then
I scream
my stomach
drops
my breath
is stolen
my heart
is pounding
adrenaline
courses
through
my veins
amid screams
of sweet terror
I fling up
my hands

I walked in and saw Dawn and Thor. I walked over and gave them both a look. “Where are mom and dad” I asked looking around the house. Dawn smile. “Still in Australia” I looked at Dawn with a confused smile. “Well then what’s going on” I asked. I was angry at Thor and Dawn and not because of Liz or that mom and dad were still in Australia, but because they weren’t telling me anything. “Well?” I asked. Thor looked at me but he didn’t smile he just stared at me. “We were told to go home, we don’t know anything” he said in a clam voice. I heard a bang, I turned and saw...

the sky turns black and gray
all the color withers away
but in your arms i will stay
come what may

the lights could dim
the sky could fall
the world could stand still
but your arms are all i can feel
and in them i will stay

I remember the day I fell in love.
Not just simple love.
No, this was head over heels, I'd die for you love.
I remember where I fell in love.
A small middle school in a small town.
A place you could easily miss.
I remember the my matchmaker.
A short women, but with more fire then you could ever imagine.
More passion for what she does then I had ever seen.
I remember my girlfriends who were with me.
My athletic, sassy, fun-loving chicks.
My flirting consultants.
I remember him.
Good God, he was beautiful.
Yes, I remember the day I fell in love.
True Love.
Head over heels love.

Basketball.

This is dedicated to my first real basketball coach. She taught me not just how to play basketball, but how to be part of a team. I have so much respect for her and I know I should thank her everyday for helping me fall in love. For Coach Joy.

I presuming we all joined this spot 'cos we love to write, right? If so then you all know what I'm talking about when I say that we all love our main characters and sometimes want to make them the best people in the world.

B-O-R-I-N-G

Yes, we want to make our main character gets the best out of the story, since it's their story. But if they're the best people in the world it doesn't really make them believable and then the reader just doesn't care about them (which is hard to understand cos we as the writer love em, but unfortunantley it's true)

So here is my step-by-step guide to make sure that...

Just a poem. I hope it isn't much of a bother to rate.

I dream of all things

Uncertain of dark deeds and pasts

Within these thoughts as dark as sea

When once those wings of black

Hung over all

Shadowing but of the wretched white

That blinds me of all beauty.

I dream of all things

From happiness to highs

Let down these pills

Or I’m gone, retreat inside my mind

Where none but the darkest thoughts

Swallowing twilight

I dream of all things

From the stories told by hidden scars

Unable to show themselves

Under this intense scrutiny

That makes up this world’s attire

To the times that I could be happy

Without a drug to create

The much-needed illusion...

I dream of all things
No matter of their contents
Because, well,
Nightmares are still dreams.

I decided to do a story where I put my iPod on shuffle and start writing. Lucky for me, all the songs were basically sad or angry music. So this is what I came up with :)

The rain pattered on the windows drowsily, drowning out Alana’s choking sobs. She sat in her favorite wooden rocker, and buried her face in her hands miserably. Her black hair clung to her sweaty face. Her clammy palms were wet from tears. She never wanted to move from that spot again. Although she was filled with irrevocable remorse, she felt comfortable there. No one in the house, rain falling softly outside, and just...

‘You shouldn't have shot the dog.’ That single thought reverberated inside my head, knocking from side to side, smashing at the sides of my skull until I had to put my hands to my temples in a futile attempt to stop the pain. The man sitting next to me took a swig of his whiskey, the glass bottle knocking against his yellowed and rotten teeth. His other hand held onto the steering wheel, maneuvering the car down the winding and deserted stretch of highway. I leaned my head against the cool glass of the passenger side window, willing my head to stop pounding. From the radio, the soft strains...

The Writer Behind the Words
The Writer Behind the Words
Luck has little to do with link. A long lasting writing career doesn’t just happen. A writer can burst onto the scene and quickly disappear. Another can have a series of hits then write a bunch of flops and never be heard from again. The difference between a long lasting career and one that burns out is strategy. Here are seven rules to help you find the right strategy for you and get you started on your journey to long lasting success.

Learn the power of focus. For most of us, we have more than enough to do on a daily basis. And when it comes to any writing project the list can grow exponentially-...

The fragrance of scotch pine and blue spruce is pungent in the air, amplified by the heat of late June. Or so you think it is June. This place feels oddly void of time. You open your eyes to see a sun hazed over by stratus clouds. From all angles you spy familiar wooden structures.
You are back.

You sit up with your legs tucked under your bottom and bask in the estival air and all of the scents that waft within it. You furrow your brows, thinking that it is not as clean as before. Even so, the place hums with earthy energy. A stronger gust of wind picks up the hem of your shirt and flutters...

You wake up under a shady willow with a vague semblance of what you had dreamt.
You have dozed off again. And no wonder, there is a good book in your lap and your favorite songs are still crackling through your earbuds. You ought to replace them, they are going bad. You pull them out and decide to listen to nature’s music instead. The soft gurgle of the pond coupled with catkins rustling against each other has always been your favorite blend of sounds. Every now and again your ear is filled with the nearly undetectable buzz of a cicada humming past. You aren’t quite sure, but you think that...

The Man With No Eyes Collection (3): Mask

When the curtain rises, all is forgiven.

I’ll brush it all off with a movie-star smile,

A genuine laugh, but my eyes must be hidden,

The truth they contain is considered too vile.

My voice is a song that will play through your ears,

And invite you to dance to the sound of my tune,

I take a bow, deeply, and drink in your cheers,

I’ll always remain here,

You’ll come see me soon.

A new day is dawning,

“Quick, put on your mask!”

And hurry outside, meet the crowd.

“Where’ve you been?”

With fanciful answers to all that you ask,

I’ll always wait here for...

So, one of my New’s Years Resolutions this year it to write more. So, I decided to make this:

The goal is to write something every day.

Starting on the 31st of January, every day there is a vague word, idea, object, question, statement or anything. You can take it anyway you want.

Then each day you should write what it tells you too or something inspired by it. Whether it be a poem, a small scene, a character description, journal entry, short story or even just one really well crafted sentence.

Even if the prompt confuses you, or you have no ideas just write something! It’s a great exercise...

This guide was inspired by a question recently posted by link on this spot. The user was looking for ways to put a twist on fairytales. I began to write an answer, but my answer soon developed into an article. So here it is.

Note that these aren't specifically for fairytales; they can be used on any old, well-known stories. After listing some ideas on how you can put a twist on such stories, I'll give a few examples of movies that have done used one or more of these ideas.

1. Swap the genders of the traditional characters.
Do any of the characters behave especially "typical" for their gender?...

Anna flicked the T.V from channel to channel, bored: there was nothing worth watching. Sighing, she left the news on and flopped back on the sofa, not really intending to listen.
'The war in Iraq-.'
'Oh no, you don't,' Anna muttered, grabbing the remote. Her Dad had joined the army after her Mum had died of an overdose. Anna didn't really blame him, she'd have got out of the house as fast as possible too if she was an adult. The whole house was contaminated with the memories of Mum, of her laugh, of her accident... suicide... whatever it was. Even so, Anna missed Dad like it was painful. She'd...

An Amuto one-shot
hope you enjoy!

‘You know, Amu…,’ he was sitting there again, on the ledge of the window, staring wistfully outside. ‘All of them think you’re gone. But I know better. You are alive, I know it. Somewhere out there, you’re thinking about me too, aren’t you?’
He was talking again, talking to the moon. ‘You’ll never admit it but you have already fallen for me,’ he smirked at the moon. No, not the moon. It was Amu’s blushing face that he saw and it was her voice that he heard, ‘Shut up!’ he didn’t know it was the echo of his memories because he thought...

A shadowy figure silently brushed the silken curtains aside as she slipped through the open window and stepped into the dark chamber. Passing a small table and a bed, the fox quickly headed towards a cabinet that stood against the far wall.
Beaded necklaces hung above a oval mirror that was set in the center. Her eyes rested on a miniature strongbox half hidden behind the mirror.
Paying no heed to the deafening clatter coming from the oblivious guest downstairs, she skillfully picked the tiny lock and raised the lid. It was hard to tell what was what in the darkness, so she emptied it into...

Yo! this is the first poem i wrote with a sane mind xD do tell me if you like it =)

Tears,
a combination of helplessness and anger,
a combination of joy and gratitude.
what different meanings it holds!
sometimes of love,
sometimes of hate.
with what different feelings we cry!
but those tears are the same.
they dwell inside the eye,
ready to attack,
the peace of our heart.
to flood the face,
with undoubted love and care,
with undoubted anger and hate,
with undoubted pain and despair.
pain? yes, and despair too!
the breakdown of our heart,
the dawn of the truth,
leading to flood the face,
with our sentiments undoubted.
