Chapter 2 Hue
Exo-Vampires
Everybody has their chances
Don’t touch me.
The filthy half-vampire was sitting in the corner while I, me, out of all people... vampires had to watch over the muddy thing. Thing is not a good word for the half-vampire, it is more of an IT. Maybe it does not need to live. Why? Why does it have to sleep like that. Sleeping is not normal if you are a vampire. Stupid Half.
“Ahh!” It screamed in its sleep.
“Shut, UP!” I yelled, smacking it in the face. It opened its eyes, revealing a big bruise I left there last night.
“Ha! You deserve all of thee things I am going to do to you. Filthy!” I yelled, then spat in its face.
“Please. Help. I mean no harm. Just, let me go.” It said in its gentle voice.
It sounded like nails on a chalkboard to me.
“Shut. Thee. Hell. Up! Now! Do you want to be beat? Huh? Do you?” I asked it. I held it by the cheeks, careful not to put my fingers by its mouth.
“I have a name.” It said in its Irish accent. My eyes narrowed.
“You do not deserve a name. You do not need to tell me. I really, really do not care.” I let go of her face and turned my head towards the crows feasting on the left over grain from the last carnival. Blast! What blast that was. So, much, fun. Not really if you ask me, but it was a blast.
“Evan-geline .” she mentioned to me softly, and slowly. For once, I did not have the need to spring. I stared at her hopeless, but beautiful face. She had my mothers name.
Stop thinking of her, I thought to myself.
“Pleased not to meet you.” I nodded to her, trying to sound mean and nasty like the counsel said. The Vampire Cult Counsel. I shivered in the thought of those words. Evil counsel are the right words. Even me, one of them, the evilest people in all of Italy. What were we calling our gang now? V5? Something like that. I do not belong here anyways. I thought of the horrible things we have done to humans. I thought of how many times I have scurried away from a murder. I thought of a way to make it right. I thought of my deceased mother and step-father. The day my mother and step-father died, was clear into my mind.
“Do not rush me, Vern! Please, let us just leave in peace.” my mother mentioned to my step-father. My mother was from England, but my step-father was American. My step-fathers eyes were beaming at me. He spit in my direction.
“He is just 7 years old, Vern! Do not shoot him! He is your step-son!” my mother yelled. Vern, my step-father, raised the old, rusty gun up to my head.
“I’ve never, ever, had a step-son to my knowledge. You don’t deserve to live, you, you vam...Vampire! You, killed innocent, good people! You deserve to die with nothing caring for you!” He yelled. My mother pulled at his sleeve helplessly, even though she could easily lift him up and throw him out of the window.
“Do not listen to him, Hue! Do not! I care for you!” my mother shouted. Full of rage, my step-father shot my mother, right between her eyes. While trying to load his gun, I fled over to my mother.
“Evangeline, I’m sorry, but this is what it is now. Boy! Thing! You get right here.” he pointed to a lone chair in the narrow hallway. I took my position and, with anger, spat at him. He did not seem to notice.
“You are going to wish you’ve never lived. Tell me something your mother never told me. Was she a vampire? Huh? Was your father a vampire? If you tell me, your death will be fast, faster than anything before. If you don’t, well, you’d wish you were dead faster. Now, tell me!” he yelled. I opened my mouth in fiery.
“You do not know how to kill a vampire, filthy human. My mother is a vampire, my father is a vampire.” I said, softly. Vern’s cheeks were wobbleing with rage. The dark brown spot on his neck was still there from when I bit him. It was an accident, kind of, but he did not understand what I was.
Evil.
Iniquitous.
“Is a vampire?” Vern asked. A slight shuffling sound came from the floor behind Vern. He did not seem to notice. Suddenly, my mother jumped and landed on his back. The sound she made was not pleasant. I watched her gnarl and rip the man apart. Blood spattered everywhere. The screams from Vern’s mouth was amusing to me. I laughed at him. I had no respect for the humans of England, or any place in the world. When my mother finished, and had no smile on her face, I was worried.
“Mother? Why are you not happy? You killed him, now we can leave in peace, as you said.” I mentioned. She was panting.
“I...loved, him, Hue.” she made a dramatic pause, “I think I am going to leave you here, I am sorry.” Black tears were running down her cheeks. She cried out in pain. When vampires cry, we start to feel the worst pain we have ever faced in our life. We start to bleed, and then we start to die. It does not kill us, it just makes us weaker.
“I do not understand you.” I said. She smiled for one second and then it faded. My black heart crashed and burned to pieces.
“I am going to never stop my aging because of you. I choose to kill myself. I choose to do something.” I whispered.
“No! Hue, stop your aging when we said we were going to stop your aging, okay? Remember 17 is the age, okay? You know that.” My mother said. Vampires have a choice when to stop their age.
“Why did you not stop your aging at the age of 17, mother?” I asked her. She sighed. I could tell she was thinking hard.
“So I could do this.” I screamed when she started to tie me up as tight as she could tie me. She brought out 10 sharp teeth things, and jabbed them into her two canines.
“No! No! No! Mother, no! Do not kill yourself!” I shouted. She let the sharp things go and touched me on my jaw line. Her elbows were on my knees, and she was on the floor. She let the teeth things fall to the floor, with a slight tapping sound.
“I do not want to be a monster. You will be blamed for this mess I created, and be taken away. Please do not be frightened. I am going to die! I have been waiting for this moment for so long. I have denied it so many times. So, Hue, take care of yourself, I love you. I am going to die slowly, and painfully. Do not worry, I want this. I want to know, Ah! I want to know how my victims feel went I kill them. AH! Please, do not be worried, please.... please....Ah! Leave me here before they come.” my sweet, dear mother had said. As she screamed on and on in pain, I cried.
I did not know I was doing it until black drops fell onto my hands.
“Evangeline, huh? My mothers name was that.” I said to the half-vampire, a little less tough though.
“You beat me. You deserve no mother.” she said. I took it as a compliment.
“My mother was stupid, really stupid. She killed herself.” I mentioned.
“Why are you telling me this?” Evangeline asked.
“You are to listen to everything I say! If you have to listen to a story you hate, you will listen to it!” I yelled. She backed up against the wall. Evangeline just sat there while I told her the story.
“Um, Hue?” Someone asked outside of my tent.
“Yeah? What?’’ I asked the other guard.
“I have another one. Her names Maya Mc’Sher. I just figured out who she was, the half-n-half.” Gary said, gravely.
“I already have a prisoner. We are getting along fine.” I smirked at Evangeline, who made an angry face.
“Since when do you make friends with a prisoner? Hm? Hue, I am worried.” Gary mentioned.
“If I change my mind on executing her, take me to a healer.” I laughed. Gary threw his head back in a laugh, too.
“Funny, man! Funny! Here!” He threw Maya to me. I just barely caught her. Not caring, I threw her in with Evangeline.
“Please! I don’t know where I am! Please help!” Maya screamed. I totally ignored her. Then, I looked at her.
“You like stories?”
Maya/Lizzie
“And, I could not help but run. Run away somewhere.” Hue was telling me and Evangeline a full of crap story that made no sense.
“Who was that guys name that tried to kill me?” I asked for the hundredth time. He turned to look at me.
“Gary. He tried to kill you? How? Like my mother? Wait. I know why you are not dead.” he said, and smiled, “I am never going to tell you unless you listen to another story.”
“What is wrong with you? Why do you want us, poor helpless prisoners suffering? We have listened to 5 stories! Please, stop and let us rest.” I protested to him. He sighed.
“I will tell you an answer to one of your questions. I am telling you these stories because I just want to get somethings off of my chest. That is all. Okay?” he said, sternly did not describe his anger, maybe more like hot chilly pepper angry.
That is very, very spicy.
“Please! Tell me first. I will listen to four of your stories! Just answer my questions and then I will leave you alone. Please.” I begged, my voice becoming quieter at the end.
He sighed and drew up a hand.
“People say that your blood is thee worst blood in thee whole entire Italy. I will answer your questions, after you draw.” he mentioned, smiling maliciously.
“Draw? What do you mean by that?” I asked, already knowing the answer.
“Give me some blood. I just wonder if it is true that your blood is the worst in Italy. I am very weak. I still wonder why your guy that brought you here did not taste your blood. Hm, maybe he does not know. Now give me your hand.” I looked at him curiously. I don’t understand this.
“Give me a reason.” I spoke to him. He turned his head towards me.
“You get answers, and you get reasons.” He said, calmly. I nodded my head slowly, and went to sit by him, but he held up a hand.
“No, no. I will come to you, Maya.” He mentioned to me. I slid back in my place. I looked up, wondering where I was. The man who escorted me here, blind folded me. I still can’t believe he wanted me to love him. I didn’t even know him! This is like crazy town! “Fine.” I said. He shuffled towards me and looked down at my helpless face.
“Don’t flinch. It only hurts more when you flinch. It will be quick. Just hold still.” Hue said. I nodded slowly. Yes, okay, just like a flu shot right?
Guess again.
It hurt like a forty inch blade nailing you in the side of your ribs. It hurt like a foot long sharpened pencil was being jabbed into the center of your palm. I screamed a frail scream of pain. Twice, he drew blood, his eyes gaining fiery and redness in the iris. You could see his wheels turning inside his head. All you needed to do was scream on and on, and it is done with.
I was on the floor, ringing like a bell, feeling the pressure on my wrist. I was writhing back and forth like a fish out of water. The burning sensation was crawling up my arm, revealing a red line of crimson. Pictures formed in my head, Looi, trees, snow, mom, Greeting, then, all of a sudden, a mysterious man with spiked red hair. He looked like Matthew Bellamy in his early days. His faced was lined with chiseling features. His body was skinny, with a slight bump as a muscle on both upper arms.
He looked hot.
“The pain!” I gasped. I felt like I was in shock.
“You moved. I told you not to move. Wow, that was horrible. The worst in fact. All that searing pain for a couple of questions, huh? Well, ask away.” He mentioned, looking at his newly defined muscles.
“How can my blood do that?” I asked, still on the floor, but with not that much pain.
Boom.
Pain.
“Ah!” I screamed.
“You really do not know? Why do you not know, huh?” He asked me, kneeling on the floor. He was ignoring my screams.
“I am in a dream. I have no idea where I am. I fell asleep, then I was here. Simple as that.” I said. I writhed in pain one more time, until it was gone. I looked at my wrist, there were droplets of black blood on the spot where he bit, but no crimson line.
“Hm. Are you a dreamer? I heard of a person that could go to the past in dreams. Be a whole different person. I think her name started with an L, something like, Luzzie, or Linzzie, or Lizzie, something like that. Her last name was a Krogra, or Krogroi. Something like that, also.” He mused. He looked down at me, “And she looked like a princess. In fact, she was a princess. I don’t think she was a vampire though. Maybe, but I am not sure. Is she a friend of yours? I heard you could pass traits from friend to friend from cat to dog, or even from toad to lizard.” I grasped the hint that he liked musing.
“Oh, no.” Hue suddenly announced. I turned to look at him. He was staring wide eyed at a corner of the tent.
“What?” I asked. I looked to where he was looking. There, in the tiny corner of the tent, was an animal of some sort. The little bug was standing two inches tall with its head up high, eyes bulging out.
“They are recording us. They were just recording what I said! NO!” He ran out of the tent and screamed, ‘No!’ extremely loud. I shifted to get a better look at the bug-ish thing in the corner.
“What are you?” I asked it. It turned towards me. It tilted its head to the right. When it sat down, I jumped a little, not expecting it to move so fast. Its eyes un- bulged and it revealed blue, dark, cloudy eyes.
“TS.” It said. The voice was screechy and sounded like nails on a chalkboard.
“Nice to meet you, TS.” I mentioned in a flat voice. More like a ‘who the heck are you’ voice.
“Just one second.” It said. Great, another English speaking, non-American speaking person.
Then it happened.
Transformed.
It grew. Bigger and bigger every step it took towards me. The redness of the small body turned blue, no, orange, green, yellow, then black colored. The blocky fingers turned to black color, too. When hair grew long, that was when I turned my head away.
Evangeline was stuck in a corner, not fazed by what was happening right in front of her eyes.
“What’s happening, Evangeline!?” I screamed towards her, because the creature was making a loud noise. She laughed.
“Never seen a shapeshifter before, I guess?” she said. I stared at the thing in front of me, but, it was no longer a ‘thing’. It was a girl.
“What!?”I screamed at Evangeline. She just shook her head and put her head in her lap.
Odd.
“Rat nest.” the girl said.
“Are you TS?” I asked her. She stared at me like I was dumb. She walked over to the flap to the outside of the tent and shook her head.
“I see your guard skipped out. HA! He is going to suffer now what I found out! This is amazing, my first Revealing! No, I am not TS, that is my species. You should know. Worm.” she spat.
“Then who are you?” I asked, nicer than she was.
“PJ. You?” she asked in a mocking voice. I looked at her. She was dressed in a long black, leather jumpsuit. PJ also had a long black leather coat on. She was literally all black. Black skin, black hair, black lips, black everything. She was scary.
“Um, I don’t really know who I am right now.” I replied. She smiled, more like smirked.
“Oh, oh. I know who you are! You are that Maya person. You are pretty famous here. Kind of in a bad way if you ask me.” PJ said. She shook her head.
“You are just lucky that the counsel does not want anyone to chase after you. All you have to do is wait. I believe they are deciding your fate.” she said. My face must of looked like something because she asked, “What?”
“I don’t get any of this! Who’s the counsel? What the heck is a revealing? What are you? How did I get here? WHO AM I!?” I screamed. I buried my face in my hands. When I looked up, she was by Evangeline.
“You all right?” PJ asked her. Evangeline nodded her head and then laid down.
“Why do you care about her and not me? Not be selfish.” I asked. She tilted her head.
“She is my soul sister. You know? When we are joined in the Vampire Cult, which was 17 years for me an Evie, we get a soul sister or brother if you do not have a real one. She said you have been nice to her for thee few minutes that you were with her. She also said that I have to answer your questions. I actually came to collect her. She was a criminal. She stole blood. HA! I have no idea why she stole it. Evie could of just got it from me! The counsel. Well, I do not really know a lot about the counsel. ” She turned her head to the door.
“I must go after Hue, now. I think you and my soul sister might not want to escape. That would be bad. Very bad. Don't move until I come back.” PJ nodded her head and then left.
Left.

Left.
He gives me sight,
Saves me from evil's bite,
Holds me when I cry,
Always by my side.
My last breath is taken and given to him,
He saves me from the storm I'm in,
He saves me and calls me his,
Have him when I'm in a crisis.
Jesus is everything.
Everything to me,
Helping me see,
Stealing my heart,
Oh how I hate being apart.
Stand here and be moved by him,
To feel him in my veins,
To feel him inside of me.
My friend,
My helper,
The great shrink,
I am proud to be part of his link.
Blown away by his grace,
Blessed by his mercy,
Oh how he carries.
Holds every tear in his hand,
Wipes away our sorrows,
For a better tomorrow.
Here I phase
Here in my old age
Here I run with no place to go
Here I stand with no purpose
Here I am with no show,
No lights,no cameras,no grace
Here I am with this world having me in it's tight embrace.
But I won't give in.
For God Loved me so.
Here I am in this place,
Here I am just watching the world race.
Watching the world fall apart,
Here I am just waiting for a new start.
As this breaks my heart,
I know I will join God's cart, his army, his people and I will live in heaven above.
Here I am asking you,
What will you do?
Here I am watching you phase,
Here I am watching you turn to old age.
With no place to go,
Here I am telling you don't want to low.
As we change and as we grow,
This world will face judgment,This I know.
Don't turn to old age,
Don't get lost in the world's maze.
Save you self.
Don't let yourself phase.......
Here in my old age
Here I run with no place to go
Here I stand with no purpose
Here I am with no show,
No lights,no cameras,no grace
Here I am with this world having me in it's tight embrace.
