There I was… Stepping on my own feet on the real ground. Yeah… the real one.
No more “dad, will you give me a ride to…?”, or “ please mom, I need that money to buy a lovely pair of jeans”.
No more dependence, no more good meals in family, no more life as I know it.
Time to step up on my feet.
Lily is my name…and I´m 18 years old. This is the new beginning of a new life. MY own life, the one that I have to build up.
Desperate about all this thoughts, all I could do is call my BF to cry over the phone.
-Soph…Oh Soph! This is nerve racking…OMG OMG OMG! I can´t believe we´re moving out togheter to college! Can YOU believe it?! OHH soph, I´m soo nervous, I don´t know if this is for me ´cause…- she stopped me right away.
-Lily…come on. Stop it. You know that this is super, this is what we´be been expecting since…ALWAYS! And, it´s ok…I won´t say it´s not frightening, but…Imagine it! You, me, cute college boys and parties that rock! And well, the whole new places where we…- she said. Yes, Sophie was the one that could calm me down and make me think wisely. I always leaned on her as she could lean on me. I was the one that would always complain and freak out and she was always the one that talk to me and compose me.
-Ok Soph, but I´m really scared. And I´m gonna miss my family, too. And, I don´t know how to work! I´ve never worked in my life!! Not ever as a babysitter!! OMG Soph..! I´m freaking out again!...
-Ok, just let it go. Let all the things that worry you go away.- I obeyed. Silence.- Now, Lil, take a deep breath and let all the bad thoughts be gone with the air.- Again, I obeyed. I felt quieter now. Wow, she was really good at this.
-Done. Wow Soph, you should really become a therapist…
-Haha- Laughed softly- well…you know I´m really not interested on that kind of things.-she answer.
-Well…see you in two days. And please So, pack my favourite shirt of yours so you can lend it to me when we arrive.- I smiled.
-No problem! Well, see you soon and behave please!
-Haha, ok I promise.- I hung up.
Yeah…That was a really hard promise to keep with all the panic I had.

Life, he believes, is not a dream
As black as the wise men say they are.
Often a gray morning
Foreshadows a pleasant afternoon and soalhenta.
Sometimes there are dark clouds
But it is only on certain days;
If rain makes the roses bloom
Why mourn and not smile?
Quickly, happily
The soalhentas hours of life go by
Thankfully, excitedly
Enjoy them as they go flying.
And sometimes when Death appears
And the best that you have gone?
And when the pain deepens
And hope it sinks won?
Oh, even then, there is hope of rebirth
Unconquerable, never die.
Happy with his golden wing
Strong enough to make us feel good
Boldly, afraid of nothing
Face the Judgement Day coming.
For gloriously, victoriously
Courage can overcome despair.

A child huddles in a corner,
dirty and tired and alone.
He's too skinny, too tired, too pale.
But nobody notices.
His heart breaks
as he watches the blurry-shaped people
walk past,
without glancing at him.
Screams echo off the cold walls surrounding him.
Not just his;
There's a few voices in that howl.
But they fall on deaf ears.
Hours pass. Days pass. People pass.
Still, nobody glances his way.
Darkness begins to creep in,
Bringing two angels with tear stained faces and heavy wings.
Silence has brought this,
and by the time people notice
it's too late.
The three angels have already left.
