Chapter Nine
Aden grabbed another tree and felt the satisfaction well up as it groaned under his hands. With a final little tug, the roots sprang free and he launched it. It landed with a shattering crash. Aden felt himself grinning as he watched it break into a thousand tiny pieces. He liked destruction. The dark side of him was slowly taking over the pure side. Not that he minded. He liked being dark and evil. He was ruthless and he was loving it. Aden heard Anna before he saw her. Her voice echoed around his head. Ah, the pleasures of telepathy.
Aden! What are you doing? Anna screeched.
Aden gritted his teeth and pulled up another tree. He was just getting ready to throw it when Gabe and Anna appeared.
“Aden! We chose this cabin as a safe house because of its seclusion among the trees! That’s not going to be the case if you destroy all of our cover!” Anna marched over and knocked the tree out of his hand. Aden glared at her. Gabe quickly set the tree back in its hole.
“ Way to go, nature boy.” Aden muttered darkly and smirked at him. Gabe didn’t seem phased. Aden felt his irritation rising. Why couldn’t he get a reaction out of him? He was always so calm and sensible. Aden leaned against the newly re-planted tree.
“ We need to talk, Aden.” Gabe leveled serious eyes on Aden. Aden rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
“ Well, make it quick. I feel like going and trying to find someone to terrorize.”
Anna’s eyes narrowed. Aden grinned as he felt a thrill shoot through him. Finally, some type if a reaction.
“ That’s precisely what we need to talk about. Somewhere way down deep in the cold heart of yours, you know that Glory is the one we have all been waiting for. You can not scare her away! Or kill her.”
Aden ran his tongue over his lips at that thought. He felt his two teeth start to elongate with just the thought of sinking his teeth into her. Her blood would taste sweeter than any he had ever tasted. He almost had taken a bite out of her earlier. Being so close, He could see her pulse hammering in her slender neck. She was so fragile. And beautiful. A picture of her flashed through his mind. Blonde hair, huge blue eyes. Aden hissed through his teeth. She was getting under his skin. And that wasn’t good. Not good at all. She was getting irresistible.
“ Just please, don’t harm her in any way, Aden. I know for a fact you’ll regret it later.” Gabe added seriously.
Aden snorted and started to walk away. What happened next dropped him to his knees.
