...I couldn't stand being in the medicine den, anymore. I ran out, crying. *Three-leg? If the badger hadn't hurt him, he'd have a better name! But, no! It's Three-leg!* Raggedpaw stopped me, eyes red from crying.
"Hey," he meowed, "just be lucky you still have a brother! you don't realize how grateful you are!"
"I'm so sorry," I sobbed, "this is all my fault! If only I stayed with them!"
"No, I'm sorry," Raggedpaw mewed. "If I hadn't depended so much on you, Specklepaw wouldn't have died and Leafpaw wouldn't ha--"
"Three-leg," I meowed, sharply. "His name's not Three-leg."
Raggedpaw dug his claws deep in the earth. "I could've fought off that badger myself! I'm so sorry." He then pressed against me side, affectionately. "It's just that I was dependent of you, and I--"
"Raggedpaw, Yellowpaw," Cedarstar padded to us, "it's time for your warriors' ceremony."
"Yes, Cedarstar," we replied, padding towards the leaders' den.
"Cats of ShadowClan, gather around!" Cedarstar's yowl sent all the cats out into the clearing. They gasped at the sight of Specklepaw's body. Seeing Three-leg just made them even more worried. "You have all heard of Specklepaw's death, and Leafpaw's misfortune. Leafpaw has now taken the name of Three-leg, and will sleep in teh medicine den. But, we have new apprentices and warriors.
"Hollykit and Crowkit are six moons old, and they are ready to be apprentices. Step forward young ones. Foxheart, you can step forward, as well."
The three cats stepped forward.
"Hollykit, Crowkit," Cedarstar started, 'from this moment on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Hollypaw and Crowpaw. Foxheart, you may train Hollypaw, and I can train Crowpaw myself."
"Hollypaw! Crowpaw!"
"Also, we have new warriors. Yellowpaw, Raggedpaw, you have trained well as apprentices. Now, it is time for you to be commended as warriors."
Both us apprentices nodded.
Cedarstar pressed his muzzle to each of our heads. "From this day forward, you will be known as Raggedpelt and Yellowfang. StarClan honors your bravery, and ShadowClan welcomes you as warriors."
"Raggedpelt! Yellowfang! Raggedpelt! Yellowfang!" The warriors ceremony still echos in my head.
Three-leg was yowling loud and proud, as if he were telling our parents about my warrior name. *Are you truly proud of me?*
"As tradition," Cedarstar continued, "you must sit vigil outside the camp entrance while we sleep."
It was moonrise, and Cedarstar had dismissed everyone. Meanwhile, Raggedpelt and I sat vigil--for tradition and for Specklepaw. Raggedpelt couldn't stop crying.
"I broke my promise," he kept sobbing silently. "I broke my promise."
I brushed my cheek against his broad shoulder, soothingly. *This is going to be a long night.* ...
I never thought that dawn would come, and I was so happy when it did. Raggedpelt went to help bury Specklepaw with the elders. I went to see Three-leg, who was still sleeping in the medicine den. Poolpaw was with him, sleeping soundly. Sagewhisker came to my side.
"Three-leg couldn't sleep," she told me. "His pains were bothering him in his leg. Poolpaw stayed with him all through the night."
I heard rustling as Three-leg and Poolpaw woke up.
"Hi, Yellowfang," Three-leg greeted.
"I wish I could've stayed," I leaned close to my brother. "How are you?"
"Great," he replied. "Once Poolpaw's a warrior, she'll nurse me back to health. Soon, I could be able to walk!"
"That's wonderful!" I replied. *At least he's happy, now.*
"For now," Sagewhisker mewed, "you need to rest."
"I have to do training, anyway," Poolpaw murmured to Three-leg. "Lizardfang might want to work on training, quick. I'll give you some fresh-kill later." She pressed her nose to Three-leg's muzzle. "I love you."
"I love you, too," Three-leg replied, as Poolpaw left. He sighed, turning his head towards me. "She's amazing!"
I purred. "I suppose."
"So," he replied, "you're a warrior, now."
"Yes."
"Uh--" Three-leg stuttered, "can you promise me something?"
"Sure."
He went close to my ear. "Do you promise to fight out there for me?"
"What do you mean?" I purred.
"I won't be able to fight with three legs," he whispered. "I want you to be able to fight for the both of us."
"Oh, of course," I murmured. "I promise, it'll be like we are fighting together."
"As littermates?"
I looked at him, then softening my gaze. "Yeah, as littermates."
"Yellowfang!" Raggedpelt called me from outside the den. I said good-bye to Three-leg and went to Raggedpelt's ride.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Come patrol Carrionplace with me," he persuaded.
*Carrionplace!* That was the same place where my parents disappeared. *But, there was such desperation in his voice!*
As much as I hated Carrionplace, I couldn't say no. I took a deep breath. "Okay. Let's go." ...

Chapter 4 coming soon!
Yellowpaw hadn't trained long to become a warrior. Yet, she watched her mentor well, and Cedarstar made her finish her training early for her advanced skills.
When her brother, Leafpaw, dies, Raggedpelt comforts Yellowfang, feeling the grief he had for his own brother, Specklepaw. They fell in love, and became mates.
But, during Yellowfang's time as a warrior, Sagewhisker, the medicine cat announces that she was retiring, and it was a sign from StarClan for Yellowfang to be the next medicine cat. Problems were faced, and there was a negative relationship growing between her and Raggedpelt, the new deputy.
But, nevertheless, they still loved each other, and what she is risking, is a big mistake and sacrifice for the warrior code.
