This is kind of a continuation of Emily having Edward's spot from Edward's Exploit. This time, we have Emily take on Edward's role in Edward And Gordon.
Episode 14
Emily, and James
Since Emily returned from the Steamworks, she was getting less work from Sir Tophamm Hat. Often, she had been sitting in the sheds not working, and some of the other engines made fun of her about it, and sometimes teased her. "Sir Tophamm Hat won't need you anymore." They said, "He wants powerful engines like us."
Emily felt sad. She began to cry one day, when Sir Tophamm Hat was giving the engines their work for the day. He saw that she was sad, and walked up to her. "Why are you sad?" He asked. "Would you like to pull James' passenger train for the day?"
"Oh yes." Said Emily with excitement. So they lit her fire, and she made lots of steam.
Emily collected three medium sized coaches. They were painted similar to her own coaches, but were slightly bigger. The dark green engine arrived at Gordon's hill, and felt the weight of her coaches as she pulled hard. Her wheels slipped, but she didn't stop. "I'll do it. I'll do it." She puffed.
By the time Emily reached the top of the hill, she whistled with hapiness, and continued on downhill.
Later that night, Sir Tophamm Hat spoke to her. "You have done a splendid job today. Your driver told me about your dilligent efforts about getting up Gordon's Hill. I am sorry that you didn't get much work recently, and I shall make it up to you."
"Thank you sir." Said Emily, and went off to the sheds, leaving her coaches so that a tank engine could shunt them away.
"I'm going to get more work from Sir Tophamm Hat." Emily announced to the others. "What do you think about that?"
"Rubbish." Said Thomas.
"Disgraceful." Said Gordon.
"Disgusting." Put in James.
"Despicable." Finished Henry. "I'm glad we got to say that again."
However, Emily was not able to hear them. She was so happy, and tired that she fell asleep at once.
Next morning, James was boasting about how Sir Tophamm Hat assigned him to pull the express since Gordon was not feeling well. "You watch me Emily," Boasted James, "As I rush by with the express. That will be a splendid sight for you." The red mixed traffic engine started to leave the sheds. "Goodbye everyone. Look out for me this afternoon." He said.
Emily just smiled, and went on to do her work. Today, she was to shunt some freight cars. Emily enjoyed that. She loved sneaking up on the freight cars, and giving them a bump. "Oh!" They would scream, "Whatever is happening?" Then, Emily would put them in their proper siding.
After shunting freight cars, Emily was told to wait in a siding, and have a rest. Presently, James arrived. Instead of nice shiny coaches, he was pulling two dirty coal cars, a tar wagon, and three freight cars carrying gravel. "A freight train. A freight train. A freight train." He complained. "The shame of it. The shame of it. Oh, the shame of it."
Emily giggled, and went to shunt more freight cars. Then there was trouble. "James got stuck on Gordon's Hill." Said a workman, "Can you go help him get up?" "I'll try my hardest." Said Emily cheerfully, and went to Gordon's Hill.
When she arrived, James was being spoken to severly by his driver, and fireman. "You're not trying." They said. "I can't do it. It's those freight cars, they hold an engine back. If they were coaches, then I'd be able to get up the hill with ease."
Emily's driver walked up to them, "We've come to push." He said. "No use at all." Remarked James. "You wait, and see." Said Emily's driver.
They backed down to the start of the hill, and Emily coupled up from behind. "I'm ready." She said. "No good." Said James, and the two engines started to get the train uphill.
James was cross, "I can't do it. I can't do it. I can't do it."
"I will do it. I will do it. I will do it." Puffed Emily. Her wheels slipped as she helped James get up the hill, but she was so surprised when they reached the top, and James took off quickly. "I've done it. I've done it." He puffed proudly.
Emily tried to keep up, but James was too fast for her. She was very sad about James not thanking her, but was glad he got over the hill with her help. The fireman gave her a nice long drink, and the driver said, "I'll get out my paint tomorrow, and give you a new coat of dark green. Then you'll be the most beautiful engine in the shed."

The end
After about an hour of exploring, the foursome resumed their search for Veronica and the stolen instruments. Nicholas also got a toy sword and shield which he won after playing in one of the game stalls. The search eventually led them to the outskirts. Unfortunately, there was no trace of Veronica, no matter how hard they looked around. Finally, Rosie said, "Oh, well. Nothing else to find here. Shall we go to another time period?" Nicholas replied, "Yes! Let's go to the Renaissance next." Scruffy added, "Great! That's one of my favorite periods of history." "Mine, too!" Chirped Buzzy. "Okie dokie! To the Renaissance we go!" Exclaimed Rosie. She then activated the time machine again, and a new portal came out. The friends held their hands together as they entered it for another wild ride.

The foursome landed with a loud "Oof!" as they went out of the time portal before it disappeared back into the frisbee. Rosie said, "Wow. That was quite a ride, wasn't it?" Nicholas replied, "It sure was, love." Scruffy said, "And it looks like we are now in the Middle Ages." Buzzy added, "Yeah. I don't see any tall buildings here. There's a castle, plenty of cottages, food stalls, and children playing in the streets." As they walked, Rosie said, "Let's see if we can find Veronica around here. But before we do that, would you like to explore first?" Nicholas replied, "Sure!" The twins nodded in agreement. And that's just what they did.

The five friends enjoyed playing in the obstacle course, which consisted of a tire maze, a balance beam, a pole jump, and a long slide to the finish line. By the end of the course, Ralph said, "That was so much fun! It looks like I'm gaining more confidence now." Rosie replied, "Splendid! I'm glad to know that." "You'll be a strong boy in no time, Ralph." Added Nicholas. Before proceeding to the next activity, the friends took a break and sat on one of the benches while drinking some juice, which they bought from a nearby kiosk. Little did they know that Shredder and his gang were watching them from behind the trees, plotting to do something sinister to Ralph's new friends. When the group finished their drinks, they started their walk to the treetop rope challenge.

The foursome and Timothy arrived in Bristol at around ten in the morning. When they got off the train, they proceeded to the visitor center to inquire where the Adventure Kingdom park is located. It turns out that the park is located about an hour from the city, and that they needed to ride a taxi to get there. Afterwards, they ate breakfast in one of the nearby restaurants and explored the city square for a while. Then, they went to the taxi station and told the driver to take them to the park. Everyone decided to take a nap during the ride. The foursome became excited and woke up after seeing a sign that said, "Welcome to Adventure Kingdom!" This meant that they have entered the park's area. A surge of enthusiasm energized them as they got off the taxi.
