Part 3) Alice's POV
The years passed in my now-redundant cycle. The last time I'd checked, the date was September 9, 1948. Again, I felt the need to check the date, though I wasn't sure why. I was never really sure why. But one day, after hunting, I had a vision. This one was completely different than the ones I was used to having; the ones I didn't even need to be psychic to know were going to happen. In this vision, I saw myself at a small, half-full diner, and saw a man walk in. His physical appearance was around twenty years old, and he was very handsome, though covered in scars. I hardly noticed the scars, though. I was too captivated by his beautiful face. He had thick, wavy blonde hair and the most gorgeous eyes I'd ever seen. They were dark in my vision, though there was a red tint to them. Those same gorgeous eyes were agonized, and I flinched at the pain in them. I saw myself meeting him there, and loved that I would. His name was Jasper Whitlock. Jasper, I mused. It fits him. I smiled to myself, continuing to watch the vision. It took place on a rainy day, and there wouldn't be a rainy day for a long time. I forced myself to find out when the next rainy day was, and it was a long ways off, all the way in 1949. It's okay, I thought to myself, smiling. I can wait until then. I can just keep that vision on my mind so I'll always be thinking about him. Jasper.
Days passed. Days turned into weeks; weeks turned into months, and finally the day came where I was to meet Jasper. Not wanting to be late, I was in the diner the minute it opened. A few of the male waiters continuously asked me if I was hungry, and I smiled to myself, thinking them lucky that I wasn't. I knew when Jasper came into the diner. I'd been playing that scene so many times in my head that, even as a human I would have remembered it completely. I watched as he sat down at a table, looking around nervously. I sighed in relief when I saw his gorgeous eyes, knowing, at that moment, that it was all going to turn out right. "No, thank you," I said to the waiter who had just asked me if I'd like anything to eat. Jasper heard my voice, and turned to look at me as I headed towards him. I wore a huge smile, but I couldn't help it. I'd been waiting for this moment. I approached him.
Part 4) Jasper's POV
I was thirsty, and being in a room with this many humans was dangerous. I was about to get up and leave when I heard the voice of a girl. The ring in her voice made me positive that she was a vampire, and I turned around to see a tiny girl with short, spiky, black hair was approaching me. I was completely confused. This was not something I was used to. I tensed, wondering if she was going to attack me...but the emotions emanating off of her weren't threatening, and she was...smiling.... Why? Did she know something I didn't? Was something funny to her? I wanted to stand, to walk out of the diner right then, but...her emotions and her beauty kept me stunned into frozen awe. When she reached me, her emotions were a little bit different. She was...frustrated. With what? And then I heard her speak for the second time in that beautiful voice. "You've kept me waiting a long time," she said, frustrated and relieved and excited. I could not be disrespectful to a lady, even if she did have the intentions of killing me. I was raised better than that. I nodded to her and answered, "I'm sorry, ma'am." The frustration vanished, and what took its place could only be described as...love. I'd felt it a few times before, with Peter and Charlotte, but I'd never truly experienced it myself before this moment. She held out her hand, and, strangely, I took it without hesitation. I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I started to feel, for the first time in almost a century, hopeful.
