Introduction
Ariel is unique among the Disney princesses thanks to her red hair and for being a mermaid.
She has been called a "fully realized female character who thinks and acts independently, even rebelliously, instead of hanging around passively while the fates decide her destiny."
She has aslo been said to be a template for future Disney heroes and heroines.

She was desinged by Glen Keane that has said to have based her on his wife, the actress Alyssa Milano and female model Sherri Stoner.

Her Personality
Can be described as confident, curious, adventurous,smart and romantic but she can also be seen as obsessed and a bit stubborn.

But the thing that distinguishes her the most is her fascination with the human world and its culture.
Its what can be seen as her best and worst quality since it´s part of why she falls in love with Eric.

Ariel is a mermaid, and the youngest of King Triton's seven daughters. Although she seems to have a happy life under the sea, she is intensely curious about humans and longs to join them on land.

She falls in love with a human, Prince Eric, and rescues him from drowning. At that point, she's willing to do just about anything to be a part of his world.




A Character Analysis of Ariel
Ariel is beautiful and charming, but she also has many flaws. She's naive, impulsive, and easily swept away by her emotions. She repeatedly disobeys her father, risks her life on several occasions, and falls in love with Prince Eric on sight.

She hardly knows anything about Eric or the human world when she decides to become a human herself. This would be risky enough without entering into a dangerous bargain with Ursula, who will enslave Ariel if the mermaid doesn't succeed in winning Eric's love within three days.

And yet for all her faults, she still charms everyone around her. She is King Triton's favorite daughter, and she has loyal friends who will do anything for her. Ariel looks at the world with wonder and...

Well as you know I have loved The Little Mermaid since I was 8 years old and I was so obsessed with it. I had the doll of Ariel but she broke, the ornament of Ariel(which I got in Disneyland Paris back in 2006),the Sebastian toy(I got in McDonalds),the flounder key ring(I got free in a book),the storybook of it, and finally the PJ’s of Ariel as well as the movie.


I was so fascinated with the movie I loved the film score, the story that goes with it, the colourful characters and the funny sidekicks as well as the love between Ariel (the love struck 16 yr old mermaid who dreams of being part of the human world as she loves it so much)and Eric(the handsome sailor prince who Ariel saves from drowning and he is enchanted with her singing voice).

I love Ariel because:

* She is a hopeless romantic

* Wants her own happy ending

* Is rebellious and has to get her own way

* Is in love with a human that she saved from drowning
