I had to write a short story for English class. I did it Makorra based, but without the actual names. See if you can figure out who is who. Credit also to Hedwig_Wolf, a relative, who helped me with it.

Everyone knew they existed, they had found out long ago, but no one expected one to crash land in the middle of a park and demand to go to school. No one had actually seen one of the aliens, so when she came, they were surprised to see she was a beautiful, young woman. The president of the United States got involved, and when the end of winter rolled around and the local high school was about to start, they agreed to let her go to school.
The last day of their winter break went by faster than anyone could remember, and the next day the alien went to school. Her first class was a near disaster. Her race was psychokinetic but the abilities went haywire when they got nervous or saddened, and oh how she was sad! Almost depressed. The most handsome boy she had ever seen, human or alien, was in it, along with his brother and his girlfriend, she was the teacher’s aide but she mainly bothered her boyfriend.
When the alien went up to introduce herself, she could barely speak, the boy just looked at her with his piercing yellow-brown eyes, eyes that seemed all too familiar. Ms. Ta-Leah broke this thought by telling her to tell the class her name, age, planet of origin, and something interest about herself. “Kadalin, 170 which is the equivalent of your 17, Aqua Flecto, and I’m psychokinetic.”
“Thank you, Kadalin. Now will everyone stand up and tell the class your name and something about yourself.” The first kid was Benjimen, “I’m Benjimen, and I’m from Colorado with my brother, he’s also in this class.” Benjimen, looked around and pointed at the handsome, yellow-brown eyed boy, “Bro, you’re up!” His brother rose to his feet, “I’m Mikal, and Benj and I are technically homeless, but we are able to rent a flat above the boxing ring. The owner knew our parent’s before they died, so he lets us chill there. After a few years we learned how to box, and so we earn a living boxing and we know give him the money. But yeah, we are from Colorado. Fun fact, I’m also pyrokinetic.”
The class went silent until Mikal’s girlfriend stood up, “Hey Kadalin!!!!!! I’m sooooooo happy the president allowed you to come!!! I’m Adonyah!! I’m totes rich, and I just found out, I’m pregnant!!!!! I know I’m only 18, but I feel like it’s my calling…”
Adonyah kept talking, but was cut off when the tables in the room went flying. Screaming ensued and the only reason the entire class wasn’t crushed was because Mikal burned the desks down to ash. Ms. Ta-Leah had hidden in the corner, but once the danger was over she rushed over to Kadalin and started yelling at her. Benj ran up to Kadalin, “Leave her alone! She obviously didn’t mean too! She just met us. Kadalin come with me.” As the two left the classroom, Adonyah started the clean up process by organizing the entire thing.
“Thank you, Benjimen, I’m sorry about all of this. I really didn’t mean too, I can’t control my ability when I get sad or nervous. No one on Aqua Flecto can. It’s our biggest downfall.” Benj looked at her with an odd look in his eyes. “You have somewhere to stay right? I don’t want you to have to go out in the street. I know what it is like from experience, it’s not fun, and a pretty girl like you shouldn’t have to stay out there.”
Benj’s question caught Kadalin off guard. “Yes, I do. But why do you care so much? You don’t know me, so why do you want to know?” Benj replied, “I care, because I’m not heartless, I don’t want anyone out there, and I’m the only one, besides maybe Mikal, that’d make sure you have somewhere to stay. Adonyah, or as she likes to be called Donnie, may seem like she wants to help, but she is gonna start treating you different. She hates beautiful girls, and aliens. You’re both, you’re a free target as far as she’s concerned.”
The two continued walking, “Where are you taking me Benj?” Kadalin asked him, “I don’t know my way around the school, but I’m positive I’ve never seen this area before.”
“I’m taking you to the courtyard. Or, if you want, I can take you to the college library down the street. That’s usually pretty empty this time of day. The teachers won’t care, I go all the time, and after this morning, they’ll probably want you to take the rest of the day off.”
“How ‘bout the college library? I really don’t want to be here anymore today, I’m really ashamed of what I did just now, I’d like to get away for a day, maybe longer.” Kadalin laughed bitterly, “I feel odd calling you Benj, since you are calling me by my proper name, why don’t you call me Lin?”
    “Lin. I like that.”
They finished their walk to the library in a companionable silence. Upon their arrival, Benj asked Lin, “Why did you come to Earth? Were you not happy back on Aqua Flecto?” Lin replied, “No, I was, but as the Princess, I figured I may want to learn ‘Earthican’ culture, since I may end up marrying an Earth Prince.”
“WHAT!? A Princess?! No way. Cool! But why’d you end up marrying an Earth Prince?”
“Well, there used to be a Prince that I was supposed to marry, back home, but when he was twelve, or your two, his parents, an ‘Earthican’ and an ‘Aqua Flectorian’, and he went on a trip to celebrate the soon-to-be-born second son. At 90 of our months and nine of your months, the mother was nearing birth, so the trip had to be soon. They went out on a spaceship promising to be back in ten months, one of your months, when the baby boy was born. The parents brought their son, Marvolo, my betrothed to see me and say good-bye. I was only ten, or your one, but I remember his piercing yellow-brown eyes. That’s why Mikal caught me so off guard just so you know. But, when the family went off, they never came back. It is widely accepted that the family crashed somewhere, but we don’t know who survived, where they were, or if the baby was ever born. They wanted to name him Bardot, and so that is what we call the lost child.”
“Huh, well, as long as we are telling each other secrets, you might as well know, I am ‘terrakinetic’. It’s not a legit name, but I’m pretty sure I’m the only one ever. We just call it that ‘cause I can move earth with my mind, you know, like Mikal can create fire with his mind, and you can do… whatever it was that you just did.”
“But, if you ever look to the night sky, you will notice that the Evening Star has disappeared. That was the family’s ship that crashed, our homes are the stars, and we have an elite squad of telekinetics out searching for the Lost Star. But my father, who is very wisdomful, knew of a way that ‘terrakinetics’ and ‘pyrokinetics’ could exist. If a child is of alien and earth parents, the full telekinetic power is broken down because of the Earth DNA.”
She looked at him quizzically and said, “You and your brother could be of alien descent.”
Benj laughed, “It’s wise, not wisdomful. But yeah, we could totally be the lost princes! Out in the cosmos fighting crime and savin’ alien babes!!”
“Maybe… SHUT UP! I hear someone coming!” Lin shoved Benj into a nearby bush. “If we are really quiet, we should be able to hear what they are saying.”
“…But baby, I don’t wanna keep it a secret. I want Mikal out of this!” a man said. “He’s so, shallow, he only likes you for your pretty face! He doesn’t love you for you like I do. You know what I’m talkin’ ‘bout Donnie, I’m talkin’ ‘bout REAL love!”
“SHUT UP!! Leave Mikal alone Hassan, he’s just arm candy and a cover story for the baby. If ANYONE found out about our love, my reputation would be ruined. If they found out, I was with an alien… I shudder at the thought!”
Benj shot a look at Lin and said in an angry whisper, “ALIEN?! That cheating little sleaze ball! She’s two-timin’ my bro!” Lin, after the other two had walked away, dragged Benj out of the bush. They then made a mutual decision to go back to the high school, and to find Mikal. By now, it was lunch time, and went to the forest at the back of the high school where Mikal usually ate lunch. Upon reaching his table, Lin asked him if they could talk.
Once, they were away from the tables, Benj blurted out, “DONNIE IS A TWO-TIMING CHEATING SLEAZE BALL!” Mikal’s eyes went wide with shock.
“Really?! Good, ‘cuz I don’t know how she got pregnant. I was thinkin’ alien abduction or somethin’, no offense Kadalin.”
Kadalin said, “Call me Lin, and no offense taken.”
“Ok, Lin. I’ve been wanting to ask you, have we meet before? Because you seem really familiar…”
Lin nodded, “Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.” She then proceeded to tell him all about the Lost Star and its missing passengers. That’s when Benj interrupted telling Mikal about how their abilities are usually traced back through alien ancestors and a mix of human DNA. Mikal sat quietly through both of their stories and once they were done he spoke.
“Seems to me like there’s more to us then even we thought Benj.” Turing to Lin he quietly asked, “What was the older son’s name, your betrothed?”
    “Marvolo.” She replied.
“Marvolo,” He repeated. “Has a nice ring to it. Do you remember their parent’s names?”
“Of course, King Tanek and Queen Sakura. Ever since their disappearance they’ve been mourned.”
“Well, it looks like the mourning period is over. All we have left from our parents is a picture, of the two of them and on the back it says: Tanek and Sakura A.E. 20100.”
Lin gasped, “That’s the year they got married! It must be their marriage photo!”
“Then that means….WE’RE ROYALTY! COOOOL!” Bardot started jumping up and down in excitement.
“No that means, I’m gettin’ married.” Marvolo said with a sly glance at Lin, “Right?”
Smirking, Lin said, “Sure, as soon as you deal with Miss Priss over there.” And sure enough, Donnie was sauntering over to the group.
“Darling, my love, my everything!” Donnie exclaimed oozing sweetness, “How are you my love?”
“YOU TWO TIMING…!” Bardot started screaming.
“Bro… SHUT UP! I got dis.” Marvolo cut in. “Adonyah, we’re done. You go sleep with that alien dude you’ve been two timing me with. Did you ever think about how we’ve never done anything for me to be the father? I mean come on! How would you even explain that?”
“Oh…” Adonyah muttered. “No, wait hold the phone, HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT HASSAN!?”
“Bardot and Lin told me. Oh, and by the way, did you know we are long lost princes of the planet Aqua Flecto? Oh and that Lin and I are getting married? And guess who’s not invited?”
“You do know relationships just don’t fall out of the sky right? Do you really want to get married so soon? We’ve only know each other a few hours.” Lin broke in.
Getting down on one knee, in front of everyone, Marvolo said, “As little as we’ve known each other, I felt something electrical when I first saw you. You looked so lost, I felt that I needed to protect you, to keep you safe. I loved you the second I saw you, and I know that either today or five years from now, my love will be unwavering and true. My love will never change. So, Princess Kadalin of Aqua Flecto, Heir to the Throne, will you marry me?”
“Yes!! I will! I don’t want to get married immediately…”
“Of course not! I would love to get to know you better before we do, but we need to go get a ring, because I kinda don’t have one.”
Lin started to laugh, but it was cut short when Adonyah launched herself at her. Biting and clawing, Adonyah went straight for her throat. As Lin fought back, the fight got bloody. Suddenly, two bodies slammed into theirs. As the bloodlust faded, the girls realized that they were being held back by Hassan and Ms. Ta-Leah. Adonyah stopped struggling and started whining to Hassan, “But baby! I don’t want ‘em to get married! She doesn’t deserve him!”
“Why not? He doesn’t deserve you. You’re too good for him, she can take him, they’re only good enough for each other.” Hassan replied.
He dragged her away, her screaming and him sighing. Now the kids, who had been eating lunch at the tables some distance away, came over to find out what happened. All of them talking at once, Ms. Ta-Leah discovered just how hard it is to answer questions. With Lin bleeding and Marvolo and Bardot in shock, she led them into her classroom to try and unravel what happened.
Turns out that Ms. Ta-Leah is, Perdy Ta-Leah, Bardot and Marvolo’s nanny who had been searching all that time for the lost princes. She had just moved to Rapid City, South Dakota at the beginning of the school year after hearing rumors of kids with kinetic powers and had gone to investigate. She apologized to Lin for yelling at her earlier, “I just needed you out of the classroom,” she explained “I knew Bardot would take you away, the last thing you needed was to be stuck in a room with Adonyah. Besides I figured you would be able to help me figure out if they were the true heirs or not. Because over the past decade more and more alien immigrants have been coming and the results were more and more kinetic powers for kids.”
The four were able to return to Aqua Flecto in Lin’s ship, along the way Ms. Ta-Leah was able to take them by the Lost Star so that they could take it back to its rightful spot in the night sky, as the evening star. Landing on Aqua Flecto the four were surprised with a huge celebration party, there Marvolo’s proposal was made official and a date was set for a few years. Because Lin still wanted to finish school, after all she was only there for a day.

EPILOGUE – 20249
Lin and Marvolo had been married for five years, and have three year old triplets. Their Uncle Bardot and Godmother Ta-Leah had returned to earth as ambassadors but returned often for family visits. There were plans in the future of sending the triplets to Earth school but for now they were enjoying the perks of being princesses, because their grandparents had stepped down a year before their births and their parents were now King and Queen.
Jemma, Inari, and Miya grew up to be gracious and thoughtful they were sent to Earth on their tenth birthday and returned graduates of Earth. They would each eventually marry and it would be for true love, no matter the status or race their chosen would be.
Adonyah had died in childbirth and Hassan driven mad with grief committed suicide. Their son, Sawyer, was adopted Bardot who had also found love, in an Earth girl named Tamina who regularly visited Aqua Flecto with him and their own son, Zale. Ms. Ta-Leah became an advocate for Alien Rights. And in the end her efforts were realized when it came to the point that no one could tell the alien from the human and peace was more of a reality than a dream.

It is well known that the show's creators based each bending style on an existing martial art. Waterbending was based off link, Earthbenders off link, for the most part, Firebenders off link and Airbenders link.

While ATLA focused on mastering these fighting styles in a physical sense that is only on single facet of the training that goes into becoming a master of the martial arts. Body is the easiest. Mind was covered though the opening of the link, a real concept featured in tantric and yogic traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. If we assume that the writers put as much study and research...

With everything going on in this spot I kind of wanted to say a little something nice about the 4 main characters. While yeah it was harder for me to talk nicely about some characters I decided to dig deep and give it a try.

Part 1; What I Like about Each Character
Sato

Easy one first; I love Sato because she's sweet and kind no matter what. Despite being cheated on and lied to she stuck with the team and didn't turn to the dark side as part of some petty vengeance scheme. I love how she was generous in funding the Fireferrets and allowed them to stay in her mansion. I also admire her bravery...

Korra and Mako stop kissing and both let go of their lips. Korra is finally happy to finally have the guy she had loved for so long. Mako is also happy to finally

realize that Korra was really the one for him. Meanwhile inside the pro bending match. Asami saw Bolin holding pink flowers.

"Who are those for?" Asami asked.

"There for Korra. I had fun on my date with her. So I thought I should give her flowers" Bolin said with a smile. Asami had a frown on her face.

"Bolin i'm sorry but I think Korra and Mako just got together. He just broke up with me and.... but Bolin cut her off.

"WHAT! She's...

I was reading zanhar1's article link and one thing she said really popped out at me. Here's the quote:

"The main reason as to why I think TLOK gets so much hate is because ATLA was such a great show that by comparison, Korra just doesn't stand a chance. I mean Avatar was a masterpiece with unbeatable and lovable characters (to the point where one can even love the character they hated to some degree!) and a wicked plot. With that in mind I think people set their standards too high. They were expecting something that would blow Avatar away or at least match up with the show. And when Korra was...

The next morning, Korra spent her time with Pema and cleaning the house while her friends went into city. Korra didn't even acknowledge Mako at breakfast. Mako left with a guilty look on his face. Not only has he been lying to his girlfriend about his feelings for Korra and the kiss, he's been causing Korra pain and now has pushed her away. He just didn't know what to do. He fell for both girls. Each is special in their own way. Either one he chose he wouldn't be happy because there would be someone getting hurt, and Mako didn't want that.

Korra still has that stone look on her face. Pema has...
