Naruto finally realizes that Hinata is missing, and a mission is formed with one destination: Blue Moon valley. This goes out to Robyn.
The worst part about being here is knowing that no one knows I'm here. So no one is coming to get me. I want to help the Duo, but…I miss home.
Two days ago: When Ino returned from her mission, her friends were waiting for her. She looked them all in the eyes, grinned sheepishly, and said, "She got me," It took a few seconds to realize what she meant, the village was turned upside down. Meanwhile, Sai and Sasuke high-fived discreetly.
Today: Saskue wandered about Kohona with his girlfriend Sakura and his friend Ino, enjoying the balmy weather. After all the horrendous actions he had committed, he felt grateful just to be alive. But he had his best friend, Naruto, his girlfriend, Sakura, and Ino. Now that Kimiko held the Yamanaka's heart, Ino was actually ok to be around. Yes, life was good…
Sasuke's foot stepped into a hole, and he ended up twisting his ankle. Immediately Sakura and Ino bent down to aid him, and glared daggers at each other. "Why are you touching my boyfriend, Ino-pig?" Sakura asked through gritted teeth.
"I am going to heal his twisted foot, what does it look like, Billboard Brow?" Ino responded with a voice that was equally as nasty. This began an all out verbal cat fight between the two girls. An exasperated Sasuke wondered if he was better off simply limping to the hospital. God knew he could make it there and the girls would only be halfway through the argument. But just as he going to do just that…
"You know what? Let's stop." Sasuke and Sakura were surprised at Ino's words. She continued on, "I still care about Sasuke-kun, don't get me wrong. But his ankle isn't going to heal itself. You do it, Sakura-chan."
Despite her surprise, Sakura healed Sasuke's twisted ankle. They began to walk again, but Sakura couldn't help but ask, "Why did you stop fighting?"
Ino shrugged and said, "I just remembered Kimi-chan telling me once that only a stupid person argues with their best friend over stupid things." Sakura accepted this answer and moved on. Sasuke was promising to himself that upon Kimiko's return, he would make sure she never had to pick up a tab again…ever. His peace of mind was priceless. At that moment, they came across Naruto, who had a dead serious look on his face.
"Baa-chan wants to see us," was all he said.
Naruto was more than a little surprised when he saw the number of people in Tsunade's conference room. Everyone was here: Kiba/Akamaru, Shino, Lee, Neji, Tenten, Choji, Shikamaru, Sai, Sakura, Sasuke, Ino, and himself. Much to his amazement, Garra was here as well. "Hey, Baa-chan." Naruto greeted weakily, "Are you giving the hat to me?"
It was well known that after the stunt she pulled in the Fourth World war, Tsunade's time was limited. As it was, her henge took up a lot of her reserves to maintain. The Godaime shook her head. "This is not going to be easy to say, do I'll just say it. Hinata and the Duo have gone missing."
Naruto turned to Garra, who simply shook his head. "I know what you are going to say, Naruto-kun. “That they were in my village, so why didn't I protect them?”" A look around the room confirmed that this was everyone else's thoughts as well. The Kazekage imparted the worst possible news: "Well, I'm afraid that they never made it to the Wind country."
"They're…missing…" Ino muttered weakly before her knees gave out on her. She began to sob softly. "Why is it whenever I get close to someone they get away from me? Sasuke, Sai, and now Kimiko." She said between sobs. Her old teammates laid a hand on her shoulders in reassurance. Not only that, but Sakura, Sasuke and Sai as well. They all cared about the blonde, no matter what grief she put them through.
"There's enough time for that later," Tsunade snapped. She pointed to a map of the elemental nations. "We believe that they vanished here in the Valley country," Tsunade said, pointing to a narrow strip between the Fire and Wind countries.
"So what are we waiting for? Let's go get Hinata-chan back!" Naruto growled.
"We can't just rush in," Tsunade corrected, "Neither Garra or I have any jurisdiction over the Valley country. We have to get permission from the Daimyo of that country before we can do anything."
It was then that Shikamaru opened his eyes(he had been napping), and said, "Garra-nii. In order to get here, you had to pass through the Valley country. Why didn't you retrieve the Duo and Hinata-chan then?" The reason for the honorific rested on Shikamaru's left ring finger, on which sat a gold wedding band. Neji and Tenten would have been wed, but Hinata's disappearance had put a stop to this.
The once again jinchuriki nodded. "It was the strangest thing. I felt their presence, but I was circumvented by a barrier that did not let me pass. Not even Shukaku could do anything about it."
This caused Tsunade to pale. She brought attention back to herself and said, "This confirms my worst fear. I'm afraid Hinata and the Duo are in a place known as Blue Moon valley. Most people that go in don't come out. The ones that do come out are insane when they are found."
Kiba snorted. "So? Let's do what the knucklehead said and storm the place. There's nothing we can't handle! Right guys?" With they obvious exception of Shikamaru and the two Kages, everyone in the room nodded in agreement to this.
Tsunade slammed her fist on the desk splintering it. "Right now that's the worst kind of plan. Garra is going back home to work things from his end while I make this an official retrieval mission. Whoever I say is going on the mission are the ones that are going, and no one else. Do I make myself understood?" Everyone was dumbstruck at the end of the shouting, even Naruto. "Good…you are all dismissed."
Naruto walked away from the Hokage tower, fuming. «Just you wait, Hinata-chan! I'm coming for you!»
