"Sheri" ???

Ok, I know it is slang, I'm pretty sure it's derived from the French 'chère' that I think roughly translates into English as 'dear'. Judging from Caroline's accent (I'm an Aussie so I could be very wrong here, please let me know :D) I think she's from New Orleans, which has heavy french influences, including its language. So I always assumed it was a N'Orleans slang term.

mmm im doubting the spellin "Sheri" cos when you look it up in the scripts it says "Chérie". and agree its from French and it means "Darling", "Dear"...but i would say in more sarcastic way...

Caroline is from Louisiana and Cherie is a term of endearment, like honey. Don't play in the street honey, Be careful honey, and so on and so on.

New Orleans. "Cherie" is for the squints and Booth, and it's really supposed to be for females, but she uses it for the guys...and "Cher" for Brennan, which is for the guys, but she uses it for our awesome Forensic Anthropologist. But it is VERY New Orleans to say Cher and Cheri. As seen in Season 1 Episode 19, we find out that our favorite prosecutor is from New Orleans. "The Man In The Morgue" is a New Orleans episode, where we find out that this Nw'Orleans lady is from there, with her heavy accent and speech.

She is not saying Sheri, she says chere which is spelled with a hyphen over the first E. This is a French term that means "dear". there is a character in either the first or second Bones book that says chere too.

The problem is that she pronounces it wrong! The "r" is silent so it is pronounced more like "shy". I come from a loooong line of coonasses.....lol

It isn't Sheri, she is saying Cheri, which is not appropriate and I noticed lately she corrected and calls Booth 'Cher'. This is simply French for "Dear" Cheri is feminine, Cher is masculine.

In earlier episodes Carolibe would call Booth "Sherif" do I think "Sheri" is just for short.
